      Agreed! He's looked the best out of the other midfielders. Ødegaard's back, Merino's slowly finding his feet and that leaves us with Rice. If he regains his form, we'll be really solid in midfield again. Can't wait.

    The Havertz disrespect in this pod is crazy, he has arguably been our best performer this calendar year: 15 g/a in 13 league games at striker last season, top scorer by far this season (all comps), despite him playing a deeper role in Ødegaards absence. And Turkish refuses to acknowledge it. As soon as he isn't playing, Turkish spends the pod criticizing Havertz as if we didn't start scoring 5 goals a game as soon as he started up top. Every time we drop points, Turkish goes off on Havertz with the excuse being that "he's the highest earner" as if Jesus doesn't earn 90% of his wages with 90% less output to the squad. Turkish needs to put his grudges aside and admit that Havertz was an incredible signing, rather than trying desperately to justify the fact that he started jumping on him as soon as he came into the club. Havertz is our player, if you want him to fail, don't call yourself an Arsenal fan.

      He’s contributed but bro an incredible signing? He goes missing out of so many games it’s ok to back your players but fans go too far on here. When other players don’t perform like Martinelli he gets criticised heavily, some fans just overlook havertz when he’s not always good

    • @iverbyrkjedal7797
      @iverbyrkjedal7797 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@SA-tf7rx In all fairness Martinelli has barely performed in a season and a half. Havertz doesn't turn up any less than our other top players. If there were multiple top clubs wanting to spend over 60 million on him for his chelsea days he easily goes for 90+ million now after his best ever season by a mile, definitely an incredible signing.

    Being a Gooner from London, now based in Japan, I'm a regular viewer of the Forever Arsenal show and love it. Arteta's recent press conference shed light on the impact of injuries on the team's performance. He emphasized the importance of a fully fit squad in creating a competitive training environment. This, in turn, can lead to increased motivation, better individual performances, competition for positions and a more cohesive team unit. I think this is a credible explanation for the team's recent struggles. Why do you all think people are dismissive of this? This is exactly what's happening at City at the moment

    Odegaard is hands down better than Ozil people are just afraid to say that because it's an unpopular opinion. What can ozil do that Odegaard can't? Technically I feel like Odegaard edges it as well. I also don't get this trophy thing either that's a team achievement. There are some players that are nowhere near as good as Ronaldo for example but they've won the world cup. That doesn't make them better than him. So just because ozil won trophies at Madrid and 3 FA cups doesn't mean anything to be honest in terms of who is actually better

    I honestly couldn't grasp the fact there were fans that could not see our drop off in performances and results, was down to ødegaard being out. I said many times, if he returns and we continue to play the same way, all those fans would then have a point, but as we saw yesterday, ødegaard makes us tick, and we looked fluid, quick, confident, and dominant again. 1 player really can make a team.

    • @victorsomosu123
      @victorsomosu123 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The main argument wasn't how we should play the same without Ødegaard, but it was more of how we shouldn't have that much of a drop off/style change if we lose 1 player. 5 years into our project, we should have a decent replacement for our best player that can bring a similar play style. Obviously we can never get a replacement on the same level as Ødegaard, but if we don't have ESR and Viera and not using Nwaneri, then we should have gotten another AM that we can use that wouldn't make us completely change our style.

Firstly, they're comparing 25 year old Odergaard to Ozil's whole career and International accolades like its Odegaads fault he he his from Norway and not a country like Germany. Lastly I hate trophies being used to measure player ability, on that basis Julian Alverz is MILES better than Harry Kane.

    I agree--WHEN Havertz scores he is a big asset to the team. If you're looking for goals, he's the best 9 we've got. I get it. But if he doesn't score, does the team really look better with him than when Jesús plays decently? The problem is that Jesús hasn't played decently this season until yesterday, but you just do not get free flowing football to the same degree with Havertz. Also, like Lee said, Jesús is naturally an unselfish player--he tries to do what's best for the team.

    The signing of Mr Havertz is probably what has put ArseNil into a corner
    1. He is not excelling at any one attribute or position
    2. Transfer Fee was relatively high (financial Fair Play handicap) and then the wage bill
    3. Forcing the team to play in a certain way, even an out of form but relatively mobile Gabriel Jesus brings a different dynamic ArseNil

    In the Odegaard vs Ozil debate there are two conversations. Who was the more talented player and who would you rather build a team around. Ozil was always a luxury player, but I could never imagine him leading our press. It would be so easy to play through us with Ozil in this team. Odegaard does 80% of what Ozil did from an attacking standpoint, but then offers the pressing and leadership that Ozil could only dream of. With that said, Ozil was probably one of the last of a dying breed of 10s that truly played the game beautifully
