Some other shows I think deserve a mention:
Newsround (1972-present). The breaking of news for kids can be quite difficult, but Newsround found a way. Even in the midst of global crises like the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Newsround was informative, sensitive and well-tailored to its audience. The show also found time to ease the day with more light-hearted news updates concerning sporting results and unusual stories like curry competitions gone wrong and plagues of midges.
BamZOOKi (2004, 2006, 2009-10). Ever looked at Robot Wars and wanted to build a competitor, but were entirely lost on where to start? BamZOOKi had you covered. Teams would instead create insect-like CGI creations, Zooks, to complete a variety of challenges, which were then super-imposed into the real-world action. The final series, BamZOOKi Street Rules, even introduced "House Zooks" (similar to Robot Wars' House Robots) who were designed to be tough to beat.
Trapped! (2007 - 2010). Arguably establishing the groundwork for hidden-identity games such as Among Us, Trapped pitted contestants against the varied challenges of the tower as well as each other. In each round except the final, one contestant would be chosen as The Saboteur, whose job was to hinder the progress of the remaining contestants as subtly and effectively as possible. The show was absolutely sold on the role of The Voice; originally played by Eve Karf and later Faith Brown, she was a terrifying presence whose full form was never shown.
50/50 (1997-2005). A gameshow that pitted entire schools against each other, contestants would primarily take part in games of athletic prowess on some of the most fun-looking inflatable obstacle courses ever seen. Other challenges relied on contestants' knowledge as well as co-ordination, making this show a pumped-up cross between The Crystal Maze and Fun House
Bear Behaving Badly (2007 - 2010). Combining legendary children's TV presenter Barney Harwood and puppet star Nev The Bear, this children's sitcom fired on all cylinders for all ages. The show also featured the talents of legendary british actors such as Bella Emberg as Aunt Barbara and Geoffrey Whitehead as Uncle Rupert. Picking up to an extent where The Basil Brush Show left off, the primary focus was on the rivalry between Nev and the scheming caretaker Andy Prank (or "Angrypants" as Nev and Barney call him), setting up plenty of Tom-And-Jerry-esque capers which could sprout from something as mundane as a golf tournament, to something as outlandish as a Scottish sock monster!
The Basil Brush Show (2002 - 2007). Basil Brush is probably one of the most enduring icons of British TV entertainment. Returning in 2002 for a sitcom rather than his original show's more sketch-comedy focus, the new show remained funny as ever thanks in no small part to both its star and its semi-rotating supporting cast.

Genuinely surprised at The Queen's Nose omission though. I also really liked Jeopardy (not the gameshow, the British-Australian sci-fi one that won a BAFTA). I was a bit too old for it but the amount of people I am around that start humming/singing the Balamory theme at random is quite astonishing. I wish UK and US TV kid shows were swapped or shared. Although, when I think about it, US kids would benefit more, and UK kids would probably be traumatized. The UK kid shows just seem more natural and less contrived, except where you can't get around it otherwise. I also notice, in my limited experience, that they're not sugary saccharine sweet and they don't talk to the audience like they need to be spoon fed the information as if they can't comprehend on their own what's going on in a scene/show. The Sarah Jane Adventures, being related to Dr. Who, is the only thing on the list Americans would know.

Not even an honourable mention for Live & Kicking, Get Your Own Back Or The Queens Nose? The Queen's Nose was one of my all time favourites. I m 34 and my Saturday mornings as a kid in the 90s, I used to first watch Live & Kicking and then switch over to SM:TV live and try not to miss much of the start of SM:TV Live. My sister is 7 years younger than me and her favourites were Dick & Dom, Raven, Jeopardy, Sarah Jane Adventures, Blue Peter (She had 2 Blue Peter badges), Oakie Doke, The Tweenies and Tracy Beaker and my mum had to stop her watching Tracy Beaker for a while as she started to act like her.
My favourite CBBC shows were: Grange Hill, Blue Peter, Get Your Own Back, The Queen's Nose, The Demon Headmaster, SMart, Newsround, 50/50, Byker Grove, Mr Wymi, Chucklevision, Barmy Aunt Boomerang, Microsoap and Live & Kicking. Another show I liked, is Julia Jekyll and Harriet Hyde and I used to like it because it was a bit different and I have always remembered the Julia Jekyll costume. As a very young child my CBBC shows were: Postman Pat, Charlie Chalk, Bertha, Brum, Greenclaws, Pingu, Pidgeon Street, Playdays, Woof!, Come Outside, The Family Ness and The Poddington Peas
