I agree. This was greatly condensed for an hour television presentation. Much of the story line and many of the supporting characters eliminated. I was in a stage version where I played Albert Sawyer and he had more to do in the story than what you see here.
After Shadow of a Doubt 1942 movie it's good to see Teresa Wright with her old bo again , and George Baileys Uncle makes the perfect Santa !!!!! Thanks for posting this gem❤❤❤
Actually,Thomas Mitchell played Uncle Billy in It's A Wonderful Life. And he does play a good Santa..though when I first saw him..and heard him..I immediately thought "Gerald O'Hara in a Santa suit"..!
Thank you so much for sharing your fond memories of the old shows. It's wonderful that they evoke such nostalgia and a sense of comfort from your childhood. I'm glad you enjoyed the programming and found it to be a pleasant experience. May your days be filled with continued joy and blessings.
I just realized Mr Gailey , McDonald' Carey was the actor on the daytime drama my mother used to watch. I think it was Days of Our Lives Like sand through the hourglass so are the days of our lives So true time goes by fast I'm thankful for all of the kind people out there Im thankful I got to raise my boys
A nice little film. Nice to see so many character actors. Not quite the production values as the the original and the other remakes but very well done for early television.
In some ways yes. the original "Movie" from 1947 was about an hour and a half. this is the "Made For TV" version from 1955 A Christmas episode of the American anthology television series The 20th Century Fox Hour. Hence 46 minutes plus commercials for an hour long show.
Absolutely, we should never teach children of fairytales. They have enough of those floating around in their heads. That's what's wrong with our society, fairytales.
I wish Teresa Wright could have been in The Bishop's Wife. She was going to be in it but she was pregnant. I like Loretta Young but I think she was miscast.
😊😊 such a beautiful movie, I'm in my 60's I've watched it when I was younger and guess what I'm watching it today 12-24-24 1:15Pm
I like the original with Maureen O’Hara and Natalie Wood. This one is good too, thank you!

How did I get past sooo many Christmases without seeing this version? Thanks for sharing it!
Loved it. The older Christmas movie the better...for me. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!🎄🎄
Thank You! Haven't watched this movie in decades!
⛄👍❄️🧑🎄🎀
Word for word from the original movie from 1947.
But this is only half the film....

🤔 Isn't this movie at least an hour and a half in length? In any case, thank you for uploading!

@ Thanks!
December 2024 my birthday the 27th 🎉❤🎄🎂🎉💋

Love this story. But why so many cuts?
The annoying buzzing sound throughout does spoil this adorable movie a bit

Wrong aspect ratio. This is not supposed to be wide screen. Thumbs down!

It was the same problem Jesus had with the Sanhedrin that he claims to be the Messiah!!!!!
Yuk.
That women is so tiresome and with a total double standard.
I agree that she certain is NO Maureen O'Hara, for sure. However, Thomas Mitchell does make a credible Kris Kringle.
