    EPM
    The backflow settings on the EPM is probably the most important settings - it controls the limit of power the Export Power Manger will allow into the grid.
    To change this setting do the following:
    Press ENTER to open the menu
    Scroll DOWN to Advanced Setting and press ENTER
    Type in the code 0010 (DOWN, DOWN, UP) and press ENTER
    Scroll DOWN to Backflow Power and press ENTER
    Change this value and press ENTER

    Thanks Peter, these videos have really helped. I was hoping you could answer this, is there a way to set a priority order for charging and discharging e.g. when charging energy should go to my home, then the battery until full and then export to the grid, when discharging use the panels, then the battery and then import from the grid last. I’ve seen examples on my app of the inverter having an overlap of priority when doing these things.

When you look at the main screen (or the app) are you seeing all four entities (PV, battery, house and grid) with valid values showing. i.e. can you add up PV (plus or minus battery dependent whether it's charging or discharging) and it equates to house load?@@user-iz8ti8sd5n

    • @SolisNotSolis
      @SolisNotSolis  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi. When it's on charge, it won't discharge at the same time. If you set your other charger (car charger for example) to match the charge times of the Solis, or vice versa, it will prevent drain.

    I did try upping to 100kw (as per your video) but system didn't seem to like that and import/export was adversely affected so I put it back to 0 and it worked okay! Hi Peter, great set of videos you have.
    May I ask, my setup is working well apart from a slight reporting issue. When I am exporting to the grid teh value of what is being exported seems to be included in my "self-use consumption".
    Example: If I disbale backflow, my consumption is around 0.4kWh, and when I enable it it jumps to 2.4kWh, with ~2kWh showing as being 'exported to the Grid'.
    Is this exptected and what you see or do I have an issue?

    Hi Peter,
    Mine was installed 2 weeks ago, 6kw inverter, most of the days I am not seeing any export, all that is produced is showing as house usage but I have nothing to use 3-4kwh, is there a setting in the inverter that must be wrong? Sometimes it shows all that is produced as export. I have a 10kw battery as well.

      That sounds very much like the monitoring current transformer (CT) and modbus meter (Eastron or Acrel) are incorrectly placed or not working.
      If you are seeing "excessive" household load that isn't there, it is usually because the installer has put the CT onto the inverter itself, or the household consumer unit itself so it isn't seeing the sum of the house load plus the PV at the same time. If you use Facebook, you could catch up with us over on the Solis group there were you can post some pictures of the install more easily? facebook.com/groups/288045168816481

      Curious. I've not seen one export with a zero limit in there yet. You see tiny spikes of export as the export limiter can take up to 5 seconds to act, but nothing sustained.
      I'd consider upping it to 100w or similar and see what the overall day export looks like then.

    Hi Peter,
    I don't know why I asked someone else I may as come straight to the oracle.
    I have an acrel acr10r meter monitoring my power and as you recommended a couple of weeks ago I have to move the CT to the main power input. Reading about it, the general consensus was "don't move it very far", and implication is I should use a certain type of cable.
    I need to move it about 15 mtrs and I go to the local electrical facture and he says that not true.
    What are your thoughts please.
    Also I have a Pylon 2000(no suffix), can I cohabit a larger Pylon battery with this or do I have to start again
    I followed your recommendations and I now see my battery contributing to the workload
    Many thanks again
    Gerry

    • @SolisNotSolis
      @SolisNotSolis  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi.
      The accuracy of the CT is reduced if you extend the CT's cable. That is the reason for the RS485 meter (the Acrel) so the sensing is performed locally to the CT. You can extend the RS485 as far as you like - it will happily work over 500m of twisted pair. You should avoid extending the CT cables themselves if at all possible. 15M is too long for the CT in my opinion.
      A US2000 will cohabit with a 2000c/3000/5000 fine. Just make sure the newer pack is the master.

      Battery makes little difference. However if you were looking at Pylontech, 2 x US2000Cs have a max charge/discharge rate of 50 amps. Whereas a US5000 which is basically the same usable capacity has an 80a charge/discharge rate. And is a little cheaper in £/kWh storage too. Although ruddy heavy!

    • @SolisNotSolis

      Once the house load is satisfied and the batteries charged, your inverter basically lowers production from PV to support only the house load. Or stops completely if there is no house load to support. It actually looks like it's gone dark outside as it shows as no production from the panels, although in reality there maybe sun, but the inverter can't use it, so doesn't.
