    Good day dear, I need to know please if i can link my 12 panels 700watt each with a total panels voc of 585 and my solis max is 600 volt. Is it safe especially that i heard in winter when the temperature is 5c the voc of the panels will exceed the 600 v of the inverter. Can i link them in my solis in 1 MPPT for better efficiency or it might be not good ? Many thanks

      @mohammadmougharbel3015 Hello. The VoC is normally specified at 20 degrees but can be considerably higher at closer to zero degrees. My own panels are 34v nominal but that rises to 38 in cold conditions. 585 is far too close to the limit in afraid. And inverters do fail easily when the strings go over voltage

    It’s worth mentioning check your smart meter. Mine was set to 00:30 -07:30 in winter, and in summer this was 01:30-08:30, they don’t change to BST. I raised this with my supplier e-on and they said they wouldn’t change the meter unless it was 2 hours out. I got the Bright app and checked my meter. I charged my battery from midnight and i was charged normal day rate until 01:30 from April. I am in the process of disputing it, but thought to let anyone doing charge from the grid to check your meter,it may ne incorrectly configured.

      That sounds very much like the monitoring current transformer (CT) and modbus meter (Eastron or Acrel) are incorrectly placed or not working. If you are seeing "excessive" household load that isn't there, it is usually because the installer has put the CT onto the inverter itself, or the household consumer unit itself so it isn't seeing the sum of the house load plus the PV at the same time. If you use Facebook, you could catch up with us over on the Solis group there were you can post some pictures of the install more easily? facebook.com/groups/288045168816481

      Hi. You can either buy a new datalogger and setup an online account yourselves. or take the data logger and inverter serial number (left hand side of the inverter case, and rear face of the dongle/data logger) and raise a ticket with Solis support to explain the circumstances. They should be able to unlink the devices from the existing account allowing you to add them to a new account.

      Most commonly it is because the monitoring CT is either on the wrong cable (i.e. not under the supply meter and has been installed under the inverter or only on the household consumer unit when it also needs to see the (separate) PV board). Or it's facing the wrong way around on the cable it's attached to.

  • @GiorgioChallenger

    Good morning, congratulations for the explanation, I'm writing to you from Sicily. I have a 6 kW system connected to the manager for on-site exchange. I created another system with dedicated 3.2 kW panels attached only to the new inverter of the same type as in your video. The question is one, if there is little sun what the inverter takes from its panels if it is not enough for example to operate a 2000w oven it takes the requirement from the batteries therefore not using for example an input power of the panels from 1000w to charge if the batteries run out. Therefore, reading through the AT, a consumption of 2000 W takes 1000 from the panels and 1000 from the batteries. In reality I produce more energy with the other system and I can easily tolerate a higher discharge of 3kw. Question: From the table indicated at minute 4.45 where there are the words Charge time and discharge time, I would like for example from 7am until the 3.2kW panels produce charging the batteries. If full, place the surplus inside the house so as to have available the total current produced by the panels of the two 6 + 3.2 kW systems. Using the discharge parameters I would like to set the use of the batteries if required by the production insufficiency, for example from 08.00 pm to 07.00 am. Does this term discharge serve precisely to program the times in which I can draw from the batteries? Thank you so much. George

      The charge (and discharge rate) of a US2000 is 25 amps. So you can happily/comfortably/safely up both to 25A.

    Hi Peter, I wonder whether you can enlighten me please. I can't get my head around the legends and direction of travel of the arrows on the display, especially for the battery when charging. My Storage mode select/Time Charging option has Optimal Income available as Stop and Run. Depending on which I select, the direction of travel on the main display around the battery shows the battery either charging/ discharging immediately change I'm having to change my Time charge times to suit something I don't understand. Where do I see whether I'm paying for the charge or getting it free for the panels? The scenario I'm trying to get to is that my panels start to generate at about 9:30am, I have two big ticket devices, pool pump comes on at 11am, pool heater comes on at 1pm. both go off about 4:30pm Together they consume about 2.4kw. At this time of year I'm generating about 3.7kw. I don't have a cheap rate as such but I've got 2 free hours from 18:00 to 20:00. I only have one time charge period on my time charging screen when I could really do with more. My manual references Optimal Income Stop, but it doesn't say what happens when it's selected. As I have no intention of receiving income from the panels, ideally I want to charge the batteries between 18:00 to 20:00 but I seem to be creating a conflict when I do this. I would be really grateful if you could suggest some settings that I could start off with Thanks in anticipation Very best regards Gerry

      Hello. There is a "EPS" output which has a variable capacity dependent on the inverter model. This is permanently live, powered from battery. The batteries can also be charged from PV while the grid is down too.

    Hi Peter Sorry to bother you with trivia. Based on some of your past suggestions I've embarked on upgrading all of my fuse panels and circuit breakers. The inverter was connected to a 25A differential. It has now been renewed (I know what you are going to say "it's only doing it's job" ) but the rcd keeps tripping in the evening when there is no apparent load, only battery replenish time. Should this be an rcd or a normal circuit breaker. When I look at the alarm messages it's littered with 'no grid' messages. Before the new rcd it didn't trip and managed to recover but now the tripped inverter depletes the battery. This morning whilst I'm recharging the battery, with the grid off, the panels recharge the battery nicely and soon as I reconnect the grid the direction of flow changes from recharging the battery to discharging by 1.2kw. with panels generating 2.8kw and a load of 1kw, even with no load the battery is being discharge at a rate of 1.2kw. There is no discharge time set, but it seems hell bent on discharging the battery Is there an overall flowchart to help me understand what is happening? Any ideas please

    • @SolisNotSolis
      @SolisNotSolis 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi. It is an RCD or an RCBO? And what type is it (I don't mean the trip curve, which will probably be a B if an off the shelf device). I mean is it an A type or AC or B or F type RCBO?

      It should be an "A" type (or "B" type - subject to manufacturers specification) Although I question do you really need one? Is the cabling exposed throughout it's run? If so then you wouldn't require one in the first instance. @@gerrybaylis3916

      Hi. Not sure what the 3000w refers to and can't think what it would apply to on a 5kW unit to be honest. But 5kW is 5kW to AC. And/or 5kW to/from batteries peak (sustained long term eg overnight charging it's more like 4-4.5kW to/from batteries) @@gerrybaylis3916
