Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-542 is to be kept in a 8m x 8m room with small adjoining bathroom, and may submit requests for furnishings barring anything that could be modified into surgical tools.
Description: SCP-542 claims that it has been, at one time, a typical human of Caucasian descent, identifying as German in nationality. This story is supported by the fact that German appears to be his first language, speaking all other languages with a German accent. SCP-542 requests to be called "Herr Chirurg" or "Surgeon" by staff and is fluent in German, English, and French, and can speak a small bit of Polish and Italian. Standard IQ tests have revealed 542's IQ to range around 150, placing him as high intelligence. It is unknown how old 542 is; testing of various tissue samples has revealed nothing.

This is a strange scp, the writing style seems much less clinical than others however that isn't a bad thing. I like this one
everything in the sub-1000s is really, really old, and their writing styles tend go be looser because the style hadnt been established yet.
It appears that he is non-anomalous, it was never mentioned that he had any anomalous abilities other than being good at surgery/living a long time

This is the SCP that made me realize how scary amnestics are. I had my gaul bladder removed a few years ago. Was it really because I had an allergic reaction that led to it's failure? Or was it because some horrible monster did some horrible stuff to me and I chose to forget it?

that one looks quite similar, but it's a different one. Fernand the Cannibal, SCP-082. Volgun did a vid on that one too :)

Both are strangely intelligent and older than can be accounted for. One difference though seems to be while The Surgeon is generally pleasant and truthful The Cannibal is a habitual liar who only acts nice if it suits him.

What made Frankensteins monster horrible was it was very obviously not human. It could be seen as a perfect man in most respects. Handsome, intelligent, physically powerful. It just had that fey quality of hitting the uncanny valley without trying.

I've always thought Herr Chirurg's voice should sound kind of like the suspicious beggar/transformed man/abhorrent beast in bloodborne; a voice about an octave deeper than it should be, with a slight buzz or hum to it like the buzzing of an insect, almost as if his vocal cords don't fit just right.

These are always my favorite SCPs, just people who become aware of strange things about themselves that they exploit to become more than human. Always like to think of how fellows like this tie into other SCPs like SCP-3199, just the idea that you can change your physical form so drastically through forgotten or new means. Adds that spice to the world and makes ya think what people are actually made of or why humans keep drawing inside the lines when it comes to ya body when you just need some gumption and some black magic and you can be immortal and strong as hell.
Is it just me or would anyone else like to take a anatomy and physiology class from SPC 542?
