Hello Matt I’m looking at purchasing a uv laser but can’t find info on if it will engrave Stanley Tumblers. If you can help me on this it would be awesome because I need to speed up my production
Always love your videos and also “Glad you got to read me again”! Sorry, sad attempt at mimicking your closing comment. You said you do tumblers on your UV? Could it be a go-to for tumblers or is CO2 still better? Thanks.
I have been watching you for a year or so. I am very happy for you and your Wiffee! Your business has grown in leaps and bounds! I will be doing in home business soon. Can’t wait for that! Keep on the good work and God bless!
Why did you end up going with the Wisely brand? I’m looking at adding a fiber and UV and would love to know why you chose the ones you did.love your videos. They have helped me tremendously with my cO2 laser.
I am looking to get one. Cloudray has one and show the prices on the web. I am curious as to the cost of the wisely laser. not planning to call them to get he cost.
Interesting comment about the biz cards. I engrave them all the time on my fiber with no issues. Having said that, the first one did warp some due to the settings not being correct. I.E. too much heat, but all is good now. My next purchase will be a UV Fiber.
Love my UV laser. I've had it for just over a year now. Mine is a 5. My source is a Photonix Industries (US with US support). Those guys have been outstanding with support.
Nice setup. So you can run multiple lasers off of one lightburn program or do you need individual computers? I know sounds like a dumb question. Just asking for a friend
I would love one of these to do my honey jars, but I only sell two or three hundred a year so I guess I'll have to wait a few years for these lasers to get a lot cheaper. Thanks for the video, please show some more uv glass engraving in the future, there seem to be very few on youtube at the moment from actual owners. I hope your bees are doing ok and ready for winter!
I have lots of experience with 3D printers, but I’m far less inexperienced with lasers. I have a couple of gantry diode lasers - one of them is 48W. I have a 60W MOPA fiber. My 5W UV showed up a couple days ago. (I’m also in the process of assembling CNC router.) I feel like I have most of my bases covered, but I keep wondering about a CO2 laser. I have never used a CO2. Obviously the only option I have with my current setup for cutting clear acrylic will be the CNC router, but is there anything else I’m likely “giving up” by not having a CO2?
Welcome to the UV club, Matt! I’m doing glass ornaments with mine mostly as of yet. Hoping to land more work though, especially with the holidays coming!
Awesome video Matt, I've been hooked for the past couple days watching your videos. The future wife and I have started a laser business as well in the last year. We are finally getting things rolling this last month getting some listings going. You are motivational thank you! Thomas
I bought a 5w UV engraver, it wlll engrave almost everything except glass. It does nothing on glass, don't even scratch the surface. Do you think you could take pictures of the setting and device setting windows in lightburn and post it here, I tried so many different setting that I'm completely lost. I'm at 100% power and try with different Q value and frequency and it makes no difference. I would really appreciate your help. Jeff. Just a note, I'm new to all of this, got the laser 2 weeks ago. I really appreciate your videos.
I tried speed 100, freq 20,30 40 and Q fron 1 to 20. It is the same as if I use a 5mw laser pointer for each test. I play with focus but absolutely no sound or marking.@@laserengravingwithmatt
Thanks for this video! Matt can you please tell me if it would be possible to use this to put pictures/logos on small pieces of silicone approximately 1 inch in diameter and 4cm in thickness? Thanks in advance.
I didn’t know what I was getting into, so I went to cheaper route because I didn’t want to dump that much money. I also have jobs that I can’t use on the expensive ones because of the guards
Hello Matt, Your content is great to watch. I have a question for you that I hope you can help me with. I currently have a 150w CO2 laser, it works great but it takes way to long for engraving metal plaques and glass. I have a customer that is looking for glass awards with very small print (under 6pt). In your opinion is the UV laser the way to go? Any help is very much appreciated.
@@laserengravingwithmatt thank you for the quick response. If I might ask how did you go about buying your UV Laser? I don't see any pricing from your link. Did you buy it from a supplier in the Untied States or online directly from Wisely?
@@laserengravingwithmatt Thanks, looked into more; OpenDNS/Umbrella - clear, Palo URL Threat - blocking it, VirusTotal - clear; so maybe something old Palo is holdling onto like a parked domain or something, will have to try later today.
Watching you makes me want to get a laser but my wife said only one of us can have an expensive hobby and I'm still paying off her last Embroidery Machine. lol
Yeah… You are bad man sir…. Waiting on delivery of my CO2 and fiber. Now you got me wanting a CO2 galvo AND a UV galvo. Time out sir. Go straight to the time out chair 😂

You would want a Co2 galvo for that

Sorry about that amzn.to/3tVg0ef Thanks and do not plan on it any time soon.
Well, well, well, something else to add to my Christmas list. LOL Thanks for sharing this!

Congrats on the UV!!
You mentioned doing tumblers, what is the speed to engrave one with the UV versus the Thunder?
I am going to do a test

There is a lot but it all depends on what road you’re going down.

That’s awesome. Sara gave me some crystal ornaments to try that she wants to list
Hi, can you share your laser config parameters on ezcad? You chose CO2 on laser type? Thanks
I don’t use ezcad

Marking not engraving right? Like Fiber where you can make coins etc.
Correct
How is the support ?
I literally JUST bought a fiber and this would definitely be what I want next.
It has been great. Just 12 hours behind me but they get back right away.

I don’t remember sorry

Mine is a 3 watt. Setting are 300, 30, 1. Try that and focus out slowly until it starts to engrave. Might have to change the frequency from 30 to 40.

It should work. I haven’t tried silicon yet.
Can you tell me how to detect UV laser light?
White paper
Awesome video and congrats on the new laser! Just one question, since they gatekeep it and I hate that. How much did the laser cost?
5590. It’s on Alibaba.com
How are tumblers? What is the largest size it can do?
So far good but I am running some test with that still
Can a UV laser cut through plastic? Looking to cut
I am sure it can with multiple passes
Awesome glad you are moving forward. Happy for you dude.
😃
Can i ask why you choose that brand ? there is cheaper and also more expensive like Thunder have one and i see you have one of their lasers, TIA

Got it, thank you so much for taking the time and reply @@laserengravingwithmatt
If you were to do it over would you do fiber or uv? Or do you have a need for both?
I would have done the UV only because of the amount of glassware I do but now having the fiber it has brought in more work than I expected.
What about on stainless steel
I need to do more testing
How does Wisely compare to Thunder Aura UV? I love Thunder Lasers, transparency, and service. Wisely has yet to contact me.
I don’t know because I don’t have the aura.
How long does it take you to do the photos on the business card? Also are you running the photo through a script for preparation?
It was around a minute and all I did was take out the background
@@laserengravingwithmatt Wow! Thank you for the response Matt! Do you know if that laser is compatible with Lightburn?
No problem. Yes I am using lightBurn.

What a difference a year makes. Just got a quote of $4500 for the 3w and $750 for delivery.
check out commarker omni 1 5w for around $4000 delivered

I went to the website. But no prices listed. What’s a unit like that run, roughly? (If I have to ask I can’t afford it! 😂)
For a 3 watt UV laser it will run roughly 8,500. If you want a rotary it will be around 9,000.
