I was totally goth when I was in my 20s and absolutelyy thought I would always look like that.....late 40s now and half the time I can barely drag some lipstick on and I'm usually in jeans and jumper 😄

The closest type of fear they can install in you is that of Steven King's vampire movie. They don't look like bat creatures. They look like a very very pale human. But they bring the dread with them. The bitterness of the grave.

I agree. I live in L.A., and if I saw that couple strolling at Venice or on Hollywood Blvd I might not even do a double take. That extreme self-expression is common here and I'm not fazed. But most of the people in these Truly videos haven't even hit their mid-30's yet. I think of all the clothing phases I've been through, and the looks I've wondered about for myself, and even a couple of years can make a huge difference. Their values and spiritual beliefs, if any, might change, too, and then they're 'stuck' with extreme permanent body mods. I'm not naive enough to still believe doing the whole 'you only live once, so go for it' can't have negative repercussions later on.
It doesn't hurt anyone why can't y'all just mind your own business. Trying to blend to societal standards is boring hence why people try to look unique and have their own persona

Good for these people living their best, authentic lives.
She said there was nothing special about her. That's so sad that people think they need something so drastic to be or feel special. Physical on going projects of the body never leads to happiness.
I see her as the same as women continuously getting nose jobs, breast enlargements that are never big enough, a bbl, lip fillers, botox all to look and feel beautiful which is never enough because there is still something missing.
In the West there is a huge identity crisis a long with unhappiness.
You are so correct I used to dye my hair black and wanted soooo many tattoos, wear tons of makeup I did get quite a few tattoos nothing over board like this vid, but I realize I didn't need any of that we really are beautiful the way we are born now I have plain brown hair, wear very little makeup and dress plain so I can see the REAL me and I am much happier...no such thing as plain to me we all have what it takes we just have to SEE it..✌🏻💞

I really like the young woman who was doing the Q-and-A. Friendly, down-to-earth, and she seems quite happy and sure about what she's doing. I empathize about body confidence issues, but she might grow in confidence as I did with age. I am glad she didn't go past a point of no return with body modification, though. It's best to be realistic about the future in regard to employment, family planning, traveling/moving to very different communities, and other areas that can be impacted by permanent mods. Societal attitudes are changing, but for my specific lifestyle I want the option to cover my eight tattoos with clothing.

makeup and dress I don't care that much. Body modification and face tatoos that's something else. I can guarantee 100% they will regret their decision at some point. Some of them clearly think like teenager and eventually (hopefully) they will grow out of that but good luck removing that face tatoo.
