Mel I think your a strong women and just because were blind doesn't mean we can't do a lot of what others do just in a different way.I get this a lot in my life too As well.We live normal lives and do normal things everyday.
This was wonderful, I want to thank you for doing this. You sharing your life with us is A blessing. Please don’t sweat those poor sighted people, they know not what they do. I enjoy sharing our world with those that do not understand or have never experienced what we experience throughout our days. Personally I take great pleasure in enduring the ignorance of those type of people. Although, that is not my main focus either. If I can expand the possibilities of someone who might be in a bad place, if they can see there’s always another option, that makes me smile. Before I went totally blind I thought I lived a good life. I traveled and went on all sorts of adventures. I was so wrong! In my prior life I was trained to adapt, improvise and overcome all obstacles. My life did not begin until I went totally blind. Now, I actually live my life, and that is what I get from you and your positivity as well. Thank you again for everything you do. 😆👍🏻 Oh and feel free to send any jerks that mess with you my way! I got your back
This was very true and very eloquent video. I think you’re right, for some reason, despite how much progress there’s been in other social areas, there still a very high lack of disability awareness and understanding of the capabilities of people who have different abilities.
I agree with you 100 percent! Thanks for sharing. Also, people used to ask me rediculous questions like since I can’t see do I know how to get dressed? I hated those questions so much. It’s like since we’re blind we can’t do anything which is soooo not true. I’m sorry if my comment doesn’t make any sense.
Courtney Cox yes, it makes perfect sense. I have also been asked if I can dress myself. I think that is probably one of the strangest questions I’ve ever had. If that isn’t the strangest question, it was probably: can you take your Guide Dogs harness off?
Hello mahal . I am a blind person from manila philippines and has just recently discovered your channel . I would just like to say you are right you should not be an inspiration but to me you are more of a role model . I just lost my vision two years ago and i'm still adjusting . And it gives me a lot of motivation to do better and make the most out of my situation because of you . Please keep up the good work . And don't dwell on what makes you feel down . More so i send you the biggest hug and the la love kisses from manila philippines
Kris Marie Li that is what I want to hear, that I am motivating and assisting people who have recently lost their vision or want to learn more about vision loss. I don’t want to be an inspiration to people, all that stuff just makes me feel sick. I have a very good friend from the Philippines, so she is not from Manila. I hope that you continue to find my videos useful. Please ask me if there is anything you would like to know that I have not already covered. Thank you for subscribing and I hope you continue to enjoy my channel.
@@melStephens1994 wow what a coincidence that you would have a friend from here . Well if she's not from manila at is it still anything country . I really appreciate you sharing pieces of your life and really need some something to someone like me . Just keep on sharing and stay strong and know that i am now here for you even as a distant friend hugs and kisses as always from manila philippines
I’m blind and I agreed with everything you said here. I think it something that people need to know and be aware of, and it needed to be said.
