Born and bred paisley boy here i remember my grandmother telling me about the trams and how she never understood why they stopped using them in favour of busses running on diesel and watching this the town looks more alive then than it is now paisley is a shadow of its formar self our textile industry is gone we have no real harbour anymore as we dont have any real boat traffic anymore they closed down the canals and filled them in took away most of the railroads and left us with the one main track from the town centre and they have opened up the seedhill line again but only because it suited them to do so and most of the tracks were still there you used to be able to get the train to another two or three parts of paisley you ised to be able to get the train to glenburn the train went right up to the reservoir the res is still there but paisley was finnished a long time ago then the opening of the braehed centre in renfrew desteoyed what was left of paisley now the towns like a ghost town
Well that brought back some memories (from the 60s, not the 40s!) Paisley was definitely better before High Street pedestrianisation and of course before the abomination of the Piazza. Another abomination was my school Camphill in Foxbar, can be clearly seen here as a prison like structure that it actually was. Looking forward to seeing more videos from you.
Great video, a true piece of history! Just shows however how utterly despicable the Local "Government" and so-called planners were when they demolished so many beautiful historic buildings in the name of their "socialist modernity". Gilmour street is a prime example.
Very interesting for a Johnstone boy. And thanks for the hilarious commentary

That sounds like Mr Chumledy Warner from Harry Enfield doing the commentary
