Hi Richie, Robert Adamson here from Canada. I laughed my face off watching your dad. It brought back memories of the excitement we all felt watching Walter on Parkinson. Your dad was a comic genius and slightly under appreciated.
What a gem! Im bowled over as i say, I'd never heard of this genius until today! Sadly, all of his books seem to be unavailable, but I'll keep searching. Thank you so much for uploading this trubute to a very brilliant man.
I agree 100% There is a bit of the Scottish Roald Dahl about his work. I think it could be a gateway to an interest in more serious poetry and and a good introduction to Scots language.
Wonderful piece of work devoted to a man who deserves being remembered. I worked alongside Richard back in another lifetime, and he is a funny funny man who clearly inherited some of Walter's skill with language and humour.
This film is a little gem. And it celebrates a true nuggett of Scottish humour. I enjoy his brilliance much as I enjoy John Lennon's surreal poetry and verse. Thankyou, from Argentina!!!
Thank you for watching. I don't think he could have came from anywhere else but the west of Scotland, but I'm amazed to hear how well his work travels to this day through people like Peter Hughes (featured) who recites Walters poetry the world over to rapturous response. You might also like the cartoon work of Bud Neill (Lobey Dosser) and the dry stand up of Chic Murray if you aren't already aware of them.
@@Pau1Ru55311 Thank-you for this film Paul. I am watching it from Auckland New Zealand. I left Glasgow 34 years ago. If there's one thing I miss is that West of Scotland humour. Being a born Partick Thistle supporter I know all about that!

Uch this made me smile from ear to ear! I grew up in Blythswood and used to walk Mr McCorrisken's dog, he was some guy! Much love 🖤
I never had the pleasure of meeting him or seeing him live, but by all accounts he was a lovely man.
Beautiful tribute to an amazing Scottish poet. He should be on the syllabus.

@@Pau1Ru55311 Thankyou! I'll check them out. My mother, though born in China, was from Pollock Shields! So...I know the wit!

He’s actually very good. Witty and comical. He’s up there with Ogden Nash. I just can’t accept the worlds worst poet label.
