I think it is justifiable considering the med ursa’s marketing trailer. Kinda shitty to balance things around what you wanna sell, it diminishes backer trust and as a result less people are willing to buy anything with real money because you can’t guarantee that it won’t get changed to something you didn’t want and wasn’t marketed.

It just goes CIG had too many heads and at this time ruled by much younger generations which I gave no issue with beside the fact they are being queue balled around over design and gameplay decision which I recognize some for Chris' call, and overs are frightening pit fall easy game making mistake repetition which concurrently can drag to game release, and that is my problem for stepping way too far from 2012 and 2.x decisions.

Unfort I upgraded a referral ship but yesterday, a day before this sale I put in a support ticket for them to melt it for me. It doesn't fit the original marketing anymore having the co pilot in control of 2 turrets. That's the dumbest shit I've ever seen, all for a ship sale. I gave them 0 and bought a power tool instead this year. Lmao Giving em money when they pull these stunts , even if it's 10$ sends a message for them to do it again next year. Today was completely unplayable for me, could not spawn a single ship and the elevators were not really working, NA/EU/AUS/Asia, all broken. CIG does not care about balance, just selling the new hotness to those of us that have the old lame nerfed crapness.
Regarding "Forgetting", it's baffling to me that nowhere in the process of designing something so complex did someone chime in and say "wait a second guys, shouldn't we have an additional point of ingress/egress? Couldn't this be a problem in a lot of situations?" This has happened more than once, and I feel like it's pretty obvious to point it out here but it smacks of a corporate culture of silence, yes-men or just plain incompetence. All of which are very bad for the project as a whole.
Hey Camural, I noticed that some ships seen on the SQ42 demos have some differences in relation to the same ships in SC's PTU. Per example: - the hammer-head doesn't seem to have the middle empty space; - the F8c lightning is more streamlined; - the F7c hornet, some have two rear thrusters, and extra winglets. - Etc.. I also noticed, by comparing the demos from 2024 and 2023, that there are considerable differences in/on the ships, the characters, etc.. Maybe you could do a side by side comparison, that could be interesting.
While the confused holomodels haven't happened before afaik, so I would chalk this up to being another weird (hopefully) one-off bug with these specifically, it's still kinda odd...and along with yesterdays Origin100 bug, aswell as on some days you couldn't even access the 2nd. manufacturer hall, this would lead me to believe the IAE patch was a rushed job.
To me its indicative of increasingly sloppy QA being done, so mcuh of this checking should happen before we, the backers, are asked to test anything downstream. It makes the company look very amaterur

I'm not sure why they thought turning the Terrapin into an ambulance was a practical idea. The whole point of a Terrapin is its sensor suite and signature stealth, and they're just ripping all of that out to give the ship a med bed which any other vehicle seems to be able to accommodate. I get that it doesn't actually do what it's supposed to do because CIG have ignored it but it feels so silly and counter to the purpose of the ship. I mean hell, an Avenger ambulance actually makes more sense, why not do that CIG?
I think they should just leave all the med beds respawning - it's not such a huge advantage when you arrive with no armour and no weapons and your ship can't carry these either.
@TexanTemplar true, if you're prepared. I'm thinking the Pices or Ursa - can you fit a container in there? You can do it with a Carrack of course but that's a T2 bed anyway. Also if you do bring a container full of armour you do also risk having someone steal it from your ship outside.

Technically the Terrapin radar operator seat works now. It gives about 5% more range so not really worth the second person. And whoever checked the holoviewer didn't get enough sleep the previous night.

I loved the feel and look of the Hawk, but with the EMP being self-injurious and weak, plus not being interceptor tuned, it really doesn't have a role. I feel like I could forgive the Hawk's weaknesses if it was decent at pursuit (which, since it is a bounty hunting ship, you'd think it would be).
Only thing wrong with the gladiator is the pilot weapons and turret weapons can't align on to the same target together. Its one or the other, which is a shame.
"Regen was always the plan" was so wildly out of touch with the previous decade of the game's marketing that I genuinely thought it was someone mocking CIG when I first saw it.

They did this before with the Cutlass Red: "Sorry, you were never suppose to re-spawn in Cutlass Red's tier 3 med beds". CIG hasn't much of an argument, except: "Sorry guys, our promo videos are faked, just there to make you open your wallets." Not much of a winning strategy, if you ask me :).
My guess for medical ships is that tier 3 will allow 1 respawn, tier 2 will allow 2, etc - if you look at the star lancer tac med bay concept art it shows the logic… plus of course the actual tier of injury that can be treated…i love how tier 1 medical is the best, but with new ship tiers, tier 5 is the best - because the game wasnt messy enough

Stopped even testing this pre alpha tech demo, since they announce they will wipe with 4.0. Just watching your vids @Camural. This eye candy fluff, buggy, time sinking mess of a tech demo, were CIG management and devs dont give a shit, is becoming beyond ridiculous. IAE shit show....sorry ship show, they dont even bother getting the names right on the jpg presentation of ships, that might not even make it into the game. Once this tech demo was a rising star, and CIG reduced it to marketing stund cash cow, milking people for RL cash, selling and promissing dreams and concepts of a game! I have been one of those suckers that believed in this, and still love SC, but this is not what i feel that CIG promised, when i pledged. With 4.0 there will be a full wipe, extremely buffed ingame ship/vehicle prices, ships that have been purchased for RL cash nerfed into oblivion, like the Corsair, mission payouts also nerfed like crazy, so basically it will take 4ever to grind for something, unless, as I guess you pay to win, regardless of what BS CIG is saying about balancing the game! I am getting more and more doubts about this tech demo becoming a real game ever! For me it just looks like a marketing stunt, and CIG just releasing half ass shit into the tech demo, without any consideration, either for the tech demo or players! Sorry, but I am of the opinion that it doesn't matter what size guns are on these ships, the more firepower the better. IMO, ultimately game balance will be struck through player skill, faction/org fleet composition and varying itemization of ship components and weapons. Balance should be determined by a player's choices, not by CIG's artificial limitations.

I agree. Incessant balancing is boring and leads to little variety. We've had so many fun ships destroyed with "balancing" which were just nerfs that made no one want to fly that ship anymore.
Trying to balance ship to ship is never going to be possible. With functional missiles, stealth, AOE weapons, etc, Tactics should evolve to counter any Meta ship. I also think Ares should have their orig. advertised range and firepower. I also believe that weapons preventing shield recharge is a big mistake. Ships should be able to increase shield recharge to essentially "shut out" any attempt by a small fighter to be of consequence. If we are really going to embrace multiplayer fleet combat, then fleet or ship component choices have to matter as much or more than individual ship performance. Fighters should have to bring an escort (additional firepower) if they are going to take on larger ships. The entire combat mechanic in SC is completely off kilter right now, because too many people are clambering for individual ship balance where what should be the goal, is a sandbox full of tools that will prevent any one ship from being Meta, due to there always being enough equipment options available to configure your fleet to overcome Meta.

Sorry, but I am of the opinion that it doesn't matter what size guns are on these ships, the more firepower the better. IMO, ultimately game balance will be struck through player skill, faction/org fleet composition and varying itemization of ship components and weapons. Balance should be determined by a player's choices, not by CIG's artificial limitations.

CIG gave the base Hornet F7C Mk2 two size 4 plus three size 3 guns, making a lot of other medium ships obsolete and you want to tell us that this can be balanced with skill?
I agree. Incessant balancing is boring and leads to little variety. We've had so many fun ships destroyed with "balancing" which were just nerfs that made no one want to fly that ship anymore.
Trying to balance ship to ship is never going to be possible. With functional missiles, stealth, AOE weapons, etc, Tactics should evolve to counter any Meta ship. I also think Ares should have their orig. advertised range and firepower. I also believe that weapons preventing shield recharge is a big mistake. Ships should be able to increase shield recharge to essentially "shut out" any attempt by a small fighter to be of consequence. If we are really going to embrace multiplayer fleet combat, then fleet or ship component choices have to matter as much or more than individual ship performance. Fighters should have to bring an escort (additional firepower) if they are going to take on larger ships. The entire combat mechanic in SC is completely off kilter right now, because too many people are clambering for individual ship balance where what should be the goal, is a sandbox full of tools that will prevent any one ship from being Meta, due to there always being enough equipment options available to configure your fleet to overcome Meta.
Yes and no, I see your point. But and only but... everything indicates to star citizen turning into mmo wow grind for purple and orange legendary upgrades following very hard high control balance design by CIG over well destroyed, killed, buried, spat onto, pissed onto, and diarrhea over player skill based gameplay.
