Been watching and have been involved in racing since I was a teenager, in my 60's now, and the rule has been the same from go-karts all the way up the ladder. Front car pulls off or is pulled off for a penalty (jumping the start) or whatever, the cars in the same row move up 1 space and you go.....
They change the rules all the time. It's nothing like it use to be! Rules and everything has changed but the name NASCAR. I've been following since the late '80's.
Well watching the race, Blaney pulled up maybe a little ahead of Kyle but was not able to pass. Kyle had a little more speed. It's not like Kyle jumped the start & ran off from them. 😊
The only thing consistent about these calls are the fan's overreactions to them... Funny how so many, offer up opinions on what the rules SHOULD be, depending on which driver gained, lost, etc...
I think you're missing it. I've been a NASCAR fan for 30 years. There's obviously been some bad calls over the years, but this year is EXCEPTIONALLY BAD for some reason.
For restarts NASCAR should adopt how Indy car's do their restarts, no overtaking until YOU cross the start-finish line. It looks neat and tidy and you won't have scenario like what happened to Kyle B and Corey L. I hope NASCAR reads this suggestion. And g'day mate from Australia.
I think Blaney got screwed but that was the fault of NASCAR not Kyle Larson ...... Kyle just got a lucky break because of NASCAR's obtuse rulebook that is not exactly designed for split second decisions. There really should be a clear rule that restacks the field if the lead car drops out before the green flag is thrown .... Kyle didn't know what to do, Ryan didn't know what to do but worst of all NASCAR didn't know what to do and that's just bad management
Do you realize how many cars would have ran out of gas if they restacked the field? Who wants to see more pace car laps. It’s part of racing what happened. NASCAR doesn’t need anymore stupid rules. Besides, if they made that a rule, I’m sure it can be manipulated it a grotesque way. Now the fans really don’t want to see that! No one did anything wrong. The rule is fine the way it is. Look…Blaney and Larson are 2 of my favorite drivers. It’s just racing. The 6 ran outta gas. The race must go on. Gotta be prepared.
Nascar stated that blaney was the lead car, but in the rule book it states that they don't re-rack the field. Had they re-racked, blaney would have run out of gas and ended up way in the back. It was pure luck that Larson was behind #6 when he pulled off due to no gas. Blaney knowing #6 was low on gas couldn't have lined up behind him, but he didn't. larson gambled, and it paid off. I don't think it really mattered where larson lined up, his car was fast as all get out and I think the result would have been the same. As far as people saying he jumped the start, didn't happen.

Can’t believe that a team mate would throw another member under the bus like Kyle did to Chase. I certainly hope there was a meeting with Kyle on Monday morning.
What, because Kyle won and chase gets a penalty for crossing onto the track way too soon? Give me a break. If anything Kyle is so admired by his talent, that I suppose Chase, Byron are jealous. Makes sense!
NASCAR rule as long as I have watched since the late 70s. 1st or 2nd drops off or is moved to the rear . The line they are in moves forward. Blaney was the control car . I don't think Larson jumped the restart.
@@jaybrown2182 he didn't jump the restart the issue is if dum dum brad would have gotten off the track blaney would have never chosen the outside lane and Larson would have never won.
Larson WANTING to line up behind Brad despite knowing he was almost certainly gonna run out of gas is a ballsy move. In his head he's hoping he runs out before it goes green... but we saw even just a few weeks ago at Nashville just a little sputter can cause mayhem. Brad ran out at the VERY last moment he could peel off, and Larson's gamble paid off. He didn't even beat Blaney to the S/F line which nobody who hates Larson seems to care about... Also think about when the polesitter for a race has to go to the rear before the start of the race. The inside row moves up a lane with one lap to go and the guy who was P3 then becomes the control car. Kinda like the tuck rule in the NFL... sucks when you're on the other side of it, but it's the law of the land at the time til a change is made
Nascar give Larson the win that's just the facts anyone watching seen Larson jump the restart then they last yellow flag the delay on it so he come to the one to go it sad that they cheat for some one and act like it's the right thing to do
