TRUST me on this - Stranger's Wrath is nearly an entirely new game. It's amazing.

GameBoy 3D it’s on the switch. Has been for a bit. The physical edition just released.
It would be interesting to see an Oddworld game where Abe, Munch, and Stranger all have a run-in with one another. I’m curious what they would think of each other, considering the Fuzzles the Stranger can use for ammunition are the same kinds of creatures Abe and Munch saved from the Vykker laboratories. It’s interesting to have the protagonist of one installment be on opposite sides of the battle from the protagonists of the previous installments, if that’s the case.
i think at first stranger would seem like an antag to munch and abe but maybe after a slight altercation and conversation they realize they are in similar boats
the fuzzles are giving the word "live-ammunition" a completely new meaning...

I got all the Oddworld games for the same price as Stranger's Wrath.
Worth every cent.
I say within the first few seconds of the video that it's a download. So....yeah, it's a download!
I agree about the part where you mention difficulty spikes. I didn't encounter them often. But two which spring to mind are fighting Packrat Palooka and X'plosives McGee. They were bastards to defeat.
I hate Packrat Palooka
maan for me it was fighting Sekto the first time, his little spin bois would rek my 10 year old world.
Oddworld are simply amazing games in a rich, wonderful, fun and somewhat scary world.
The ammo in Stranger's Wrath was bloody inspired - which is a word which sums up the Oddwold games pretty well - inspired!
God I would love to see more titles from them

I love the way that Stranger moves, he feels so smooth and awesome.
I disagree on having a lot of moolah left being a bad thing: you're building up to 20 grand for the surgery, which you can almost only accomplish by capturing a lot of enemies alive. It's part of the story to have a lot of moolah at that stage.
And the no incentive for exploration, that's simply false. There is loads of hidden treasure around.
The one thing I REALLY liked were the scenarios I could turn into minigames. Like, you can jump across the canyon where you're supposed to lower a bridge and you can launch the second boss due to a hilarious bug. There was also a way to make the cutscenes fast-forward, which was pretty funny.
One hell of a game, would recommend any time.

Ahh Strangers Wrath. Not only my Favourite oddworld but one of my Favourite games of all time and this remastered have done The game justice
Stranger's wrath is my favorite Oddworld game. An open world western featuring a mysterious badass protagonist that actually rewards you for challenging yourself by bringing in the target alive. And you're gonna need that money because it also features an upgrade system.
It oozes personality from the NPC dialogue, the level design and even ammo that talks to you. It takes all the great things of Oddworld and crams it into an open world western bounty hunter simulator.
And on Steam it's only 10 bucks now at full price. That's a lot of game for a small price

I always remember this game playing really similarly to Star Fox Adventures. Both are very underrated.

GODDAMN I LOVE THIS CHANNEL ITS SO POOING GREAT!!!
I love this game, but I have two major gripes with it;
Firstly, it ditches the bounty-hunting aspect over halfway through, which is kinda disappointing.
Second, the story told in the CGI cutscenes (the intro, the scene with the Doc, the big plot twist partway through) felt deeper than the story told in the game itself; the only major plot development that isn't told in a cinematic involves the Doc when you reach his Mongo Valley office. And after that, when you're dealing with the Grubbs, Stranger just kinda nods and does everything he's told, he has no real development as the story goes on.
That's just me, though; everything else about the game rocks - the gameplay, the style, the music...
I completely agree with your two comments! Especially the bounty-hunting ditch. I was also hoping the game would have multiple endings like the other games in the Oddworld series; One for killing most of the foes and one for sparing most of the foes. But nope, that just affects your cash gain.

Me, just came back to rewatch Caddi's oddworld videos to celebrate. I hope they do a physical release as well as I'd totally buy that as well as the digital game.
It took me longer than it should have to realise that the TV with the clips playing is just an image with a video in it

Best game I've ever played
My major gripe with this is how large the range of sight is for the enemies and the repetitive sound that are the Clakkers voices.

I'm so hyped to get this for Wii U, and the new Oddworld game for Wii U when it releases, the Oddworld series looks so surreal, I just NEED to sink my teeth into it and see what people have been talking about
I got the Oddboxx yesterday and also learned why you ALWAYS check system requirements. Welp, looks like I'm digging up my old PC and hoping I can make the sound work.
There was a period when I was about 9 or 10 when this game was my obsession. I played through it twice or so. :)
I can't believe Oddworld is still being made, the last one I knew about was Munch's Odyssey (which was pretty cool), I hope to see and hear more about new ones eventually, but a remake of one that looks pretty fancy is cool. It shows some interest in the series still.
I was really hoping that Stranger (in the bounty half of the game) would get assigned to hunt down Abe and/or Munch, since they already had wanted posters and everything. It would have been awesome to face your past heros! I mean could you imagine trying to avoid Abe possessing you? Or having Munch turn your own Fuzzle ammo against you! Their could even be 2 possibly endings; One where you help them get away and one where you collect their bounty's. This would have been a great way to tie the series together some more.
I've said this in the previous retrospectives. I hope it finally happens, Oddworld deserves it.
