I actually really like the non-combat parts the most, I just really enjoy hearing these characters talk. I often stand there and let the characters finish talking so I don't miss dialogue.
Yeah, i do that too. Only minor issue though. Is it’s really easy to move just a tad bit too far into a mission and a new dialogue starts up. Cutting the current dialogue off.
@Master Shake well i mean sure but think about it. horizon was basically a triple a game with little to no advertising and it turned out great, i just kinda used that as an example
The beauty of horizon is the world and the lore behind the beautiful world. But it terribly falls short in the characters and story department (specifically the parts with the carja, sun king, Nora stuff) The side characters are all boring, expect maybe one or two. Aloy herself isn't that interesting. But in Marvel's guardians of the galaxy the writing is waaaay better and all the guardians are compelling characters whom you get to love and see them grow, rather than aloy who gets no growth and remains the same from beginning to end.
@@jesseomollo9405 I agree the characters aren't that great. I liked Aloy and her "dad" though. I disagree with the story being boring. It was very well done in my opinion, even though it's not my personal forte. (I prefer fantasy over sci fi). Very interesting story, I think.

Wow…when I bought this game I had such low expectations but oh my gosh this game had be laughing and thrilled the whole way through!with amazing story writing and amazing characters I seriously love this game 10/10!
The boss fights tend to go on a little longer than I expected, and I wish you could deactivate photo mode because its too easy to accidentally activate it during a busy fight. @@spartida3850 there are some similarities, they are the same characters overall, but considering how much longer the comics have been around, they were first on most aspects. They have played off each other, though.
I was looking to see if anyone else mentioned this, as that mirrors my impression of them. They fit the look of the comics more than how they looked in the movies. I'm not far into the game at all, but visually I have no real complaints.
My favorite part of the game are the team huddles, I mostly choose the wrong dialogue options on accident, but it gives me a huge smile when I hear the music
Marvel's Avengers to me is more of an Beat'n up game. GOTG is different, run and shoot, more strategy, rpg elements and with a whole bunch of cutscenes.
This game looks perfect to me tbh. Excited to pick it up next paycheck. Love the team mechanics. Looks genuinely unique for a third person action game. Glad it doesn’t have loot mechanics like every other game seemingly does right now.
I am so glad this game is good and as a lover of good ol single player games (which are so scarce now a days, especially AAA ones) I am buying this at full price. Also a game slowly building its story at the start(eg. RDR2) and with a lot of dialogues is exactly what I want from my story campaigns
@Webrock Yes full price is worth it for games like these, all the efforts they put into it should be rewarded. If players keep buying at discount prices then dont expect employees to be motivated or keep making good games. Hopefully they get a good share of the money when we buy. ....
The game is awesome, I’ve been having a really fun time with it. I’d liken it to Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order where people weren’t expecting much at all and it just completely exceeded expectations.
Yes!! A linear cinematic action game and it's Marvel game, with puzzles as well. Now this is a marvelous game. Especially for adults, that do not have that much time to grind on rpg games. Gameplay combat mechanic seems great and unique as well, can tell that just from watching it.
The game shines the brightest in its story, the story was great and the chemistry between the characters is so good, and makes u actually care for the guardians. At first I thought the game play was a bit lackluster, because I expected to be able to play ad every guardian, but when u start matching combos with all the guardians jt really feels like team work and it's super rewarding( tip for everyone, for crowd control, use rockets gravity grenade and starlords hurricane grenade thing, followed by drax running attack, and you'll get rid of most enemies in 3 seconds)
Want to give you some praise, I watched 2 other “before you buy” videos that didn’t change my mind but after your video I have decided to wait until it goes on sale then purchase. You helped change my mind, bravo sir. 👏🏻
Been playing ever since 9 this morning. Guardians of the Galaxy is 🔥🔥🔥 can definitely tell Eidos Montreal put alot of work into it. Although I do think they missed a big opportunity of limiting the players to only being able to play as Star Lord. It would so much better as a co-op game but still really enjoying it so far. The voice acting and dialogue is so on point. Love it. Gives me alot of Mass Effect vibes.
I’ve watched live stream of this game on Twitch and honestly I was pleasantly surprised. The story and the characters seem really well done! And the sense of humour is there! The voice acting is acceptable, even good at times. Everything else, fighting, mechanics, music is ok. Of course this is just my opinion. For myself I will play it once it’s on sale lol. Thank you for this video. Stay safe. ❤️
X-Men would be awesome. They would have to get the story right though. I used to love the arcade x Men that they had everywhere. I also loved the combat in FF7 remake. They call it an action RPG. I've got to check this one out.

@@HuntsmanWTF Where the fuck did I say that the price was the deal breaker. LOL. I can pay $60 just fine, I just don't want to spend it on this game in particular. Are you dense?!
Honestly i think the only improvements that i'd want from this game would be a collection of post game missions where you and the guardians just casually do missions or try and find a rare object to sell, the classic "heroes/scavengers for hire" game
I love how mantis actually has a bigger part in the story than she ever did in the movies, and even though she looks different and has a different voice she still has that mantis is adorable crap going on
It's also a completely original story from what I've read. Definitely helps. Just beat the game and if they make a sequel its an instant pre order for me
Just finished this game and it was well worth it. Great story, music, and characters, I honestly prefer several of them over their movie counter parts, I'm looking at you Mantis! That said it is a very easy game, even just cranking the difficulty to max never really provided a challenge. But that's fine, the rest is top tier, including the humor. There is 1 scene that reminded me of FFX, but I think it served the same purpose of forced laughing while facing impending doom. So that works in my book too.
you can use custom difficulty, instead of dealing low dmg (damage) you can deal very low "or very high but we dont talk about that option" and make enemies deal very high dmg instead of just high. and other things to make ot harder.
This is one of those games where you can just enjoy without stressing yourself out with a difficulty playthrough. It’s a good change of pace from when I played Elden Ring and then Demon Souls, then picked this up lol
Honestly this sounds like a really solid tonal adaptation of a comic book world to a game. Marvel has some of its best moments as character beats and banter rather than just relying on spectacle and heroic feats. Plus I am always down for more single player action focused games. It kinda gives me the vibe of what XCOM Declassified wanted to be.
Holy this game is surprisingly great. There are a few bugs in this game, slightly game-breaking (Teammates falling through elevators, Star-Lord gets stuck in animations, scanning the boss during a specific boss fight causes the game to break). All of these bugs can be fixed after reloading the last checkpoint, and you’d lose a few seconds of time since the game saves often. The story, combat, and dialogue are greatttttt.
Just what I wanted to see before I buy. Make sure it was the game I was thinking while I was watching game play videos. I have a $20 reward on my Target already so I could get it for just $39.99 before Sales Tax.
The gameplay and story is just great in my opinion specially huddles that makes the gameplay more fun even though its fun without it already plus they went from a dysfunctional team to a wholesome family which is cool because of the interactions with each character in the story
story looks interesting the game play still looks meh the walking and jumping looks stiff and clunky and movement looks really slow plus enemies with life bars is a huge turn off
if you're a marvel fan, this is a must buy. the combat isnt that good, but the story, reference and the way crew interact with each other are what makes it so good
This game came with my wife’s new laptop, so I’ll probably try it this week. Want to go in blind though, so I’ll come back to this video after I get a little way into it!
To make it short. Just loved this game, play it and its fun. Slow from the start but then i played 13 hours straight to finish this game. Kind of feeling like im a kid again, like getting games to play on vacation and friends watching us play. No multiplayer, only good old single player third person view vibes.
I thought the opening chapter was magnificent, so I'm looking forward to the rest of the game. :) EDIT: I don't want to cry, but I know its coming later on.
Just jettisoned Jedi Survivor so I could load this game. Best decision I have made in years, honestly. Substituting hype and crashes for pure fun. Shocking hidden gem of a game!
I just logged 25 hours in one playthrough this last weekend. Picked it up last week from game pass and omg. I can't get over how much fun this game is. Everything is just on point. This is what single player games should be. The comedy, lore, combat, storyline, is just out of this galaxy. Highly recommend this game to anyone on the fence.
I just started this game today, & this game is all around fun! And I love the characters they are all different and unique in their own way!!! I love the rocket character he makes the team better and he has some good things to say! And the game does look pretty darn good! I am so glad for gamepass because otherwise I wouldn’t have access to these titles I’ve never heard of!
This game is graphically amazing ! The actual game play looks generic AF and super casual, why can't more studios make games looks like this ! So many franchises could have done better if they where based off this. Alien isolation 2 would be amazing if it had the same engine but with heavy reworked play style
This is a great game. One of few games that I actually played from start to finish non-stop in quite a while. The visuals are great, a decent story, a lot of interesting characters and the gameplay, both combat and non-combat, is quite engaging. It actually feels like what a Mass Effect game should be like. It's not perfect. The flight controls is horrendous but luckily they were few flying sections. It's kinda buggy: from a ton of minor superficial ones like graphical and audio bugs to some distracting gameplay bugs to one or two game stopping progression bugs. The crew chatter can get annoying after a while especially in prolonged combat where they ran out of lines to say. And Rocket...is an insufferable dick.
This story was so good. Better than all the marvel movies that have come out lately. Fantastic story and game. The combat, skills and everything could be more complex and worked on, but I enjoyed every second of this great rare treat that almost went under my radar. Very fun game.
Just beat this game right now and it was the most fun I’ve had in gaming in so long! The dialogue and the gameplay was amazing as well. I’m glad I gave this game a chance! 8.7/10
Well if youve bever played those GTA games, i understand, but if you have then youd rather play and pay gor a game again rather than playing a new one? Thas why we keep getting so bad less polished games, cause they are making more money out of constantly remastering the same thing over and over again.
This is why game devs dish out lazy remasters of old games and the new IP's are far between. People would rather but some halfassed remake than support devs who take a risk by making something new. Wouldnt go so far as calling you an asshole though
Am I the only person who had literally NO IDEA that this game was coming? Like not a clue that it was even in development until I saw people playing it on YT and talking about it on socials?

Honestly that is an great achievement for any kind of media. If you can listen to the characters and be satisfied that is a sign of great writing.

@@shantiroy6571 it's pretty fun, at first its feels odd but you start getting used to it and the huddle is pretty fun and if you get it right gives your that boost
I am absolutely loving it. They nailed it with this one! The choices you choose makes some what of a different story! Definitely worthy of multiple playthroughs!
Cosmo is the best boy:)
Wow…when I bought this game I had such low expectations but oh my gosh this game had be laughing and thrilled the whole way through!with amazing story writing and amazing characters I seriously love this game 10/10!
This game looks fun enough. Wow, Falcon doing a BYB!! It's a milestone day!
He's done it before, though. Mostly for JRPGs.
@@sdtrawick Yea, He'll probably do SMT.V when it releases. It's primarily my main genre but I play everything worth playing.
can we please just start saying his real name? people need to know.
@@GIRTHMCGRAW do you know his real name? If so, please share.
It is fun especially if you love the guardians
The boss fights tend to go on a little longer than I expected, and I wish you could deactivate photo mode because its too easy to accidentally activate it during a busy fight. But other than that, the game is a knock-out-of-the-park win. The characters are hilarious, especially Drax, and their designs are really on point. I'm about half way through the game, but already I think Square Enix have redeemed themselves.

@@beastmasterbg can you do that on ps5?

The character models are NOT based on any of the films. They’re almost torn right from the more modern iterations of the comic series.
yeah but aren’t the modern comic series based more off the mcu films? cause they look a lot more different than their original appearance
@@spartida3850 he isn't talking about the modern comics, those aren't even as good as the old ones. Majority of the modern comics are not good.
@@spartida3850 there are some similarities, they are the same characters overall, but considering how much longer the comics have been around, they were first on most aspects. They have played off each other, though.
@@jesseomollo9405 opinion
I was looking to see if anyone else mentioned this, as that mirrors my impression of them. They fit the look of the comics more than how they looked in the movies. I'm not far into the game at all, but visually I have no real complaints.
I would love to have more games with characters talking to each other as this game...it was the best of this game ...
My favorite part of the game are the team huddles, I mostly choose the wrong dialogue options on accident, but it gives me a huge smile when I hear the music
The music makes combat even better
Marvel's Avengers to me is more of an Beat'n up game. GOTG is different, run and shoot, more strategy, rpg elements and with a whole bunch of cutscenes.
Thank you. Was on the fence but will be giving this game a shot (love that single player winning out vs games as service especially).
This game looks perfect to me tbh. Excited to pick it up next paycheck. Love the team mechanics. Looks genuinely unique for a third person action game. Glad it doesn’t have loot mechanics like every other game seemingly does right now.
The game is soild you won't regret it
10/10!
It seems like it could get boring fast if you don't have more then 1 outfit to keep the game fresh.
It's not unique or good when it comes to combat but the rest is solid for sure
It’s super unique imo, some of the most fun I’ve had in a long time.
I am so glad this game is good and as a lover of good ol single player games (which are so scarce now a days, especially AAA ones) I am buying this at full price.
Also a game slowly building its story at the start(eg. RDR2) and with a lot of dialogues is exactly what I want from my story campaigns
@Webrock
Yes full price is worth it for games like these, all the efforts they put into it should be rewarded.
If players keep buying at discount prices then dont expect employees to be motivated or keep making good games.
Hopefully they get a good share of the money when we buy. ....
This game is amazing so far. The writing is so brilliant. Whoever is in charge of the writing needs a raise.
The game is awesome, I’ve been having a really fun time with it. I’d liken it to Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order where people weren’t expecting much at all and it just completely exceeded expectations.
Is there anything to do after you complete it
@Gloomie I bought it anyway haha
If me and falcon were friends. I’d be the worst friend. I’d just sit there and listen to him talk all day and never say a word. His voice is the best!
A bit too whiny sometimes for my taste. Ahoy, now that is a voice. That guy could narrate a phonebook and I'd listen to it.
Yes!! A linear cinematic action game and it's Marvel game, with puzzles as well. Now this is a marvelous game. Especially for adults, that do not have that much time to grind on rpg games. Gameplay combat mechanic seems great and unique as well, can tell that just from watching it.
The combat is lazy and simple the rest is great so depends what you care about most
Combat seems to be super repetitive
Your definition of puzzles is puzzling
Stay safe. ❤️
on sale for 35.99 until the 10th!
I'm excited to see all the storylines they will use for this game
I'd love a sequel to this game and would love for this team to tackle X-Men. With customizable teams.
X-Men would be awesome. They would have to get the story right though. I used to love the arcade x Men that they had everywhere. I also loved the combat in FF7 remake. They call it an action RPG. I've got to check this one out.
@@kurtisgonzales37 I love that arcade game! That game is what started me reading comics when I was 10.

Is it connected to the films or is it it’s own story
It’s kinda like it’s own story or the comics
Definitely is more like the comics than the movies
@@codymartinez4493 the lore within the comics is vast, but this game is irresistible and eager to take you on a roller coaster ride. Plus everything you run into has information if you're curious about when, and where in the comics they met or fought. Plus tons of goodies to unlock

I have to work in the morning, but I just played this game for 3 hours and I cannot recommend it enough. Worth the tiredness tomorrow, will probably play again at lunch and after I clock out.
Cosmo is in fact motion captured with the suit and and all from a real Golden retriever 'actor'... the making of-docu is interesting.
Man, I cannot say anymore how absolutely thrilled I was playing this game, upon finishing I was so overjoyed I went to go restart the game to do it differently, this game jumpstarts my heart in all the right ways. 10/10 and would love to play more from the developers!
This was a game where everyone checked their own expectations, to be pleasantly surprised and rewarded with a great game.
You know something Gameranx? And i never thought I’d say this after the disaster Avengers was, I’m actually excited for Guardians of the Galaxy 😊

I know I’m late but, I like to finish games before I even comment. Unbelievably fun game. I had no clue it would be this cool. Best game I’ve played in awhile
My favorite part of the game is the music playing in combat, it’s just the biggest thrill there is. Just fun and amazing overall.

Just beat the game and if they make a sequel its an instant pre order for me
The amount of stories they can tap into is limitless. So many adventures, but lots of fun
this is a rocking game, in fun and music and it makes me wonder how an X-Men game from Eidos Montreal would be
Just finished this game and it was well worth it.
Yeah the final boss for me just stood there watching me... It was pretty funny 😂 but at least they game literally save every minute so no big problem
This is the first game in a while that was able to keep my interest for more than 2 hours, and my first run I’ve played 8 hours straight so far.
Just what I wanted to see before I buy. Make sure it was the game I was thinking while I was watching game play videos. I have a $20 reward on my Target already so I could get it for just $39.99 before Sales Tax.
Ive played for 4 hours straight yesterday, the game is great, I hope they add DLCs. I didnt mind that we only control one character.
Sadly they already confirmed no dlc. But who knows that can change especially if the game sales good.

This game was so surprisingly great. Several times throughout I just said to myself, this is so flarking cool.
if you're a marvel fan, this is a must buy. the combat isnt that good, but the story, reference and the way crew interact with each other are what makes it so good

This game is awesome man! Just hilarious how the crew talks to each other all the time. Love it, great great game/story
Developers kinda took Kratos’ advice seriously: “keep your expectations low and you’ll never be disappointed”.

Needed to see this game reviewed by you
This game is graphically amazing !
This game is a very pleasant surprise! I'm ending up loving a game that I thought would just be decent! Very very happy with it!
I was really tempted to get this after all the great reviews, but I think I’ll hold out and wait as the GTA Trilogy is right around the corner.
For me it's the other way round..I have already played the OG GTA games so many times, will get it later.

@@willforeman5220 whats the point of bashing somebody for no reason at all to make your pathetic life feel better or what lol
I only use subscription services anymore. Getting older and not keeping current on upcoming stuff. TH-cam keeps me updated😂
Just finished the game on PC. Rocket is super cute, and even more adorable on RT Ultra!
