    Fantastic video. Thank you. I have yet to check the valve gap on my KPX. This content will be exactly what I needed to know how to from start to finish.👍🏍

    Some dudes out there have been power-washing off the decals and it looks pretty sweet bare-white hehe. Thanks for the walkthrough!!

    Wow, took forever for that thumb up to register. I don't think I have ever been 1st. I got one of those little de walt impacts from my family. awesome thing! not to put stuff back on though, well not breakable stuff. LOL fantastic for taking stuff apart! what a time saver.

      Congratulations for being first! 👍🏻 Yeah the cordless tools are definitely a time saver, I use them all the time. Thanks

    Very nice video.
    Next time, I will definitely use the camshaft cover removal method instead of the little visual inspection port on the left side.
    You might point out that it is unnecessary to remove the rack. Just loosen the rear rack bolts, so that after you remove the front rack bolts you can just swing up the front rack mounts to get at the seat bolts.
    On the black plastic side covers, leaving off the top rear screws during reassembly lets you get those covers off without removing the seat--this saves a lot of time if you are futzing with your battery or air filter.

      Thanks Tom, yeah I’ll probably leave the top screw off of the battery side next time. I appreciate the comment, how’s your KPX been doing?

    Is it possible to remove the top valve cover exposing both the intake/exhaust valves at the same time, and giving you clear access to both?

    • @herbiesgarage681

      @@Kevin-mm6xm Even though I haven’t done that yet I would say yes you can. Because you have to be able to access the rocker arms and things in case you wanted to change them so the the whole valve cover head should separate and remove. The more I work on this bike and the longer that I own it I will get into more and video more things and I might include removing the valve cover also. Thanks for the question

    should this be done when getting the bike out the box or some miles down the road?

    • @herbiesgarage681

      @@androgenesiss That would be up to you, myself I check it early on simply because I want to make sure that the valves are set perfectly. They are usually set pretty close, sometimes I have found them to be a little tight. If you are not mechanically inclined or don’t want to get into it yet then a good indicator is how is the bike running. If everything is good with starting, idling and running then you’re probably good. The manufacturer included the maintenance interval for valve clearance check in the owners manual. If you wanted to go by that then you will probably be fine.

    I need new rear wheel bearings, can you find out cross reference?

    • @herbiesgarage681

      Do you have the number off of the bearing? If it doesn't have a number then you might have to do some measurements to get the right bearing. Most bearings do a have a number on them though.

    • @markjeepingful

      @ got numbers off seals no luck finding on googles! I haven’t remove seal to see bearings number yet because need to move my bike around with wheels on.

    • @herbiesgarage681

      @@markjeepingful That would be very hard to find that information unless someone has changed theirs and shared the information. If I ever have to change it I will post all the info. After you remove it then you can either get the number or take measurements for the new one. I checked my info and couldn't find anything.

    • @markjeepingful

      @@herbiesgarage681 yeah I bought my bike at dealership in Fenton, Mo and he said they don’t sell bearings or seals, it’s like have to buy whole new wheels!!
      I highly recommend you take your rear wheel off and pack lots grease to bearings. I only grease the bolts dammit!!!

    • @herbiesgarage681

      @@markjeepingful Really, I know exactly that dealership. The bearings are replaceable and you will be able to find replacements too. You can also go to a place like bearings headquarters and just hand them the bearing and they will match it up for you.
