A lot of deaths are just down to unwillingness to commit to either running or standing your ground. You gotta decide what you're doing BEFORE 10% health.
agreed, but i would also say that one should always plan for situations where you get low hp unexpectedly, always gonna need a plan B^^

Why didn't the priest use fade? You can do that once. I usually raided as resto druid. Fade is pretty OP. But I raided as every healer. You pop fade and don't heal until mobs are picked up. That is priest 101. If the tank dies that is his fault for not tanking.
My plan as a druid was warstomp for trash. It worked on trash mobs. If it was a boss fight I'd just die. Barkskin and bear was useless. I'd get one shot anyway. If it didn't one shot me I could heal it as tree.

@@Nyilith Yep it depends on the situation. Some players run when they should stay and fight, and some players stay and fight when they should run.
@@Nyilith Than maybe he shouldn't say "always". Stand your ground if that's the best chance of survival and run if it isn't. Problem is it's not easy to rationally make that decision in the moment.
Yes always stand your ground as a warrior while leveling. If you run you will aggro mobs as he said in the video. Second situation was a lot different.

The only hardcore servers are PvE.

“Healer, what are you doing” is exactly the reason there’s no way I could be a healer in HC. Someone would pull too many mobs, if I don’t heal them then I’d be hated. If I do heal them, RIP me.
Yea, that guy had all of a second to live. Unless the Healer was a Paladin there ain't shit they can do that would have actually saved that. And even then LoH/Shock could easily have been on CD.
Fucking threat management people, it's the only thing a DPS needs to do beside zugging. If you are above 60 you are in the danger zone.

I feared this badly too but now have people add me as a friend to do dungeons as their healer and it’s probably the best compliment I’ve received haha

Playing a healer is for those who want to see masks fall off and see the real humans underneath. You'll learn who your real friends are as a healer and who's secretly taking the game too seriously, wouldn't trade healing for the world. Going into a HC dungeon is asking for someone to delete their toon only fools go into that kind of danger and expect everything to always turn up crystal clear. HC dungeons are about the thrill and knowing your gonna die any minute and start back at level 1 like the good ole OSR D&D days.

I even started playing hardcore yesterday on the bloodsail buccaners server, I've never seen the server so full of people since launch.
Been watching it for ages on guzu's channel. For all the people saying how easy it is go try and see for yourself :D TL:DR its not no ezmode autorun through zones. None of that BS u can die at any time
@@Jabarri74 Before trying to play on hardcore, I thought it would be difficult, but not as much as it is, it's another experience playing, you can't be careful, I already lost 2 characters and I didn't even reach level 20, I'm on my third now, but I confess that even having died these times, it's fun, I don't know how to explain what it is, but every thing you do is very important, will you hit 1 mob? look around to see that no others will attack you, will you go into caves? be very careful because it is very dangerous, every upgrade item is a victory, profession is even more important playing in hardcore, it is a mix of many things that makes this experience good, just playing to feel it.
I like asmon's react to HC deaths because he is not afraid of being mean and making fun of the stupid deaths.

@Fourside maybe some people don't like using shortcuts and keybinds? Maybe they don't care? Maybe they don't know, very few people actually look into control settings
@@JJJBunney001 there are some reasons to not use keybinds, handicaps and such. not using them because "you dont like them" is a pretty bad argument considering how much worse it makes you at the game (you cant move your camera mid fight for example, because ur using the cursor to click abilitys, and many more movement related reasons) i give it to you that some people just dont care and thats ok, they just suck at the game and thats ok aswell. still im in my right to make fun of those scrubs

Question for the hardcore players. Why aren’t people questing in teams of 2 or 3 with a healer?

people have jobs lol
doing a duo or trio is an option, but most people are turned off by 3 things:
your life is tied to the other member's lives so if 1 dies then all must delete.
trying to find the time to get everyone on at once is hard (and its required that they are all on and in the same zone at all times)
lastly, there are some that think grouping isnt in the spirit of the challenge
12:45 "its the druid's fault" ... the person he pointed out hitting stuff is a shaman (it got lightning shield). Based on the unit frames, there is no druid on the party... but there is also no shaman on the unit frames either (so only the paladin could've been healing). This is so confusing.
In classic shamans used to have the same unit frame color as the paladin.

@@TheBucketSkill And is farming grey mobs until 60 exciting? Besides, you have ways to escape a bad situation in dungeons if you're not a tank or a healer (even as them later on), and the gear in there can help you go much faster.

I will say the guy around 2:36 was in a very scary place. I was in that place as a warrior alone. It took me about an hour to do that place at a pace that was safe. MY heart was pounding about half way through that place.

My BF was playing hardcore. His character died at level 28 due to getting DC while swimming, when he logged back in his character died instantly and log showed it was due to drowning... He wasn't even under water. Sadly did not record it, so could not dispute his failed run with the guild.

So many of these deaths are caused by the players not being aware of how classic wow works. Why would you go hardcore, but not know about jumping on ledges to have the mobs path around; Or, not know that the walls of the ruins in stranglethorn vale are not solid?
well also that particular wall he walked on was right next to the 45 elite for the badlands quest, you just can't be in that spot as a level 40 warrior, asmon was correct there
1:55 The addon simply isn't 100% precise. It constantly recalculates your threat. This guy's mistake was not using a proper threat meter (or at least not DPSing more carefully). And the reason he didn't get healed is because (I think) the entire group gets stunned for 5 seconds. So pulling threat is a bad idea in this fight

Man real hardcore is no groups, and its the only way you can ensure your not getting fucked by others. No grouping, no trading, no talking just a man on a mission.
That second to last Hillsbrad death is due to the mobs pulling from behind the wall. Happened to me twice on a classic server.
Pillers block LoS, not all wall do tho, a lesson we all learn in HC
Hyper spawns kill more people than anything else. Kill a groups of mobs only to have them all respawn 5secs later.

I love that whenever someone is wiping, the hunter always has aspect of the pack to make extra sure that you have 0% chance of escaping xD

I thought it was common sense that if a boss fight has you go through a door or gate basically any entrance that can be closed will 100% close again once the first player starts the non existent countdown by crossing the invisible line 😂...

We would do 2 healer runs.
With a warlock or Rogue.
We had players with multiple 70s so we could switch up.
I think some of these HC 5 man's could be done with similar unorthodox styles to group composition.
@MellonVegan this was almost not an option back in OG retail.
Sure hybrid players who had some skills were great yet it was situational at the time which I believe the 70s heroics are and under done bit of content that sadly was a waste because there were so many raids available at the time.

When you remember that levelling is 65% of the content, you understand why hardcore is such a jam.
It seems like the game needs better Hunters and Mages working to keep mobs off the tank and healer, when dealing with this stuff or more people need to consider a proper off tank to watch the healer to lower deaths.
why is it an outrageous idea in classic to not shot call if you dont actually know how something works. I know the clips are biased towards failure, but holy shit, hardercore players actually function on furniture level IQ every time they load up the game. its insane.

I feel like the people who are playing classic hardcore never actually played the game when it came out. Also it is like Asmond said they panic or are trying to be the "it" clutch player.
Hardcore is a lot of fun. It is both appealing to casual and sweaty gamers. I've been taking it casually this time around and having a lot of fun levelling. Every encounter is more fun. I put a lot of time levelling profession and cooking to have every tiny bit of advantage I can to progress.

I died from a griefer :(. A level 60 brought an Orc grunt to a questing zone and feigned death. I wasn't recording. My fault I guess for not recording, doesn't mean it doesn't suck though..
