I was worried I was going to have to painstakingly allocate each individual tile from the tile sets. This made life SO much easier and saved me literal hours upon hours of work. Thank you so much!
14:07 > Adding and/or changing a tileset. I've been looking for this!!! I've been changing tile palletes but realizing I also want to add more so I can show chapters at different times of day/night!
It’s such useful information to know, but I feel like I’d need to watch this with notes on exactly what is going on and why and how, or just someone holding my hand to get it done. Still, love the educational video, may have to rewatch this later when designing maps.
Thanks for showing the XNA studio portion. I was never satisfied with pure random maps and thought I may as well draw maps from scratch or edit existing maps and didn't know that was available.
I remember it took me about 6 hours to make two chapters(this was back in like 2013) . I may just finish my pet project since I don't have to clear out my week end to make each chapter.
It's impressive how FEBuilder has streamlined the process, are builfiles still in use these days? I remember it used to be something the community really advocated for but it lacked the QOL ease of use
As the maker of this video, I personally only use buildfiles, though I understand that they aren't for many people. A buildfile is far more flexible if you want to configure people's hacks or create your own patches, at the cost of a little speed and no user interface beyond a text editor. FEBuilder is an amazing tool and I use it for reference constantly. I always recommend that new people try out FEBuilder first. Later if you find that you want to change a lot of game mechanics, then consider a buildfile or a custom build of skill sys.
i dont understand why around 7:40 when you are supposedly trying to delete flag 8 usage you delete flag 7 and everything is good. I know im probably dumb
Is there a way to get the demon dragon from Fire Emblem Six and put it in Fire Emblem Eight or such stages and make it able to summon creatures like in a summoner that summons ghosts but in this case summons dragons? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 If yes, can you please guide me? Please 🥺🙏 please

Absolutely bonkers seeing how far romhacking for FE has come over the years
Thanks for doing a tutorial, Vesly. Nice to have these resources alongside the showcases.

Hello! How do you use XNA studio to integrate with FEBuilder for the Map generation like the video did?
try out custom maps sometime! they're fun

This was excellent! Great start point for beginners
Fabulous guide. Thanks!
Seems like we're never gonna run out of f2u maps going forward.

I think so. There's a lot of stuff that buildfiles can do but FEB can't yet, so I can only imagine there are still people who stand by buildfiles.
@@caliburnabsolute8517 I heared of some. Custom Staves are build file only I heard

That event in particular uses flag 7 and 8.

How can I play it with the delta emulator, can someone help me?
How do I configure FEBuilder to run the debugger when testing on mGBA?
It just says emulator not running.
I don't have this issue with VBA-M
You're probably using the 64 bit version. Febuilder only supports 32 bit emulators so install that version of mgba.
Hi! New to this rom hacking. How does the XNA studio work and where do I integrate it with FE Map builder?
I don't really know. But after I installed it, the terrain part seemed to work, so I didn't question it.
@@vesly990this is just what I was wondering… I’m trying it right now to see if it works
