One of the stores I bought from got their allocation and it was like 1/6th of what they requested. Pretty crazy. Also, I'm thinking the unique historic figure cards in the collector boxes are going to be interesting.
Universes Beyond are different then normal sets IMHO. I think they need to keep supply tight so support the market (so other IP holders will be happy to continue to participate down the road)
The three big reprints of the two swords and black market won't be enough to carry the set. The templar card may cause increased interest though. This set could have been two or three commander decks.
I'm with you on this one. I don't feel the excitement or even general interest that I've seen for MH3 and Bloomburrow. The prices need to go A LOT lower for me to even consider buying a sealed product. I guess we just need to be patient and see.
I must say I am starting to see a trend...not here specially but in general. AC is announced and people are pumped. Goes on presale and people want the collector booster boxes. Rudy leaks that the print runs are low. LGSs get small allocations and get p*ssed off. People get their orders cancelled. Prices double on tcg player.
Now all of the sudden people are now against the set because it is $400 and tons of tubers are now against the set.
I have seen this pattern before. I m still getting a case of the collector edition and an extra couple boxes for me to open to get a complete set.
I'm glad your not just echoing Rudy, AC is nowhere near the fanbase of Fallout or LOTR, 10 years ago maybe but not after all the drama with the latest release.

The 109 deal was a one day Banana Stand thing. It's already back up to 127. Unlike Epilogue, this set is severely short printed. Like it or not, prices are going to continue to rise like Fallout did.
I can see this set not doing well and feel bad for anyone paying the blown out of proportion prices.
Three months ago I said this set should be called Assassin's GREED! This set is another like AFTERMATH RIPOFF. There are some good cards but I will wait several months before I buy any singles. I will not buy any boxes. The problem is that Wizards is releasing a new product every month and players do not have much time to enjoy the current set. The Professor paid $40.00 for a box of Aftermath and got $20.00 worth of cards on his box opening video. Another problem with Collectors boxes is that MOST of the time you do not get enough value out of them. Thank you for the video.
110-120 will probably work for the normal boosters. I think it's a little high, but it will probably be fine given some of the reprints and new cards, and the fact that it's a smaller set making 2 boxes likely to get you a lot of cards you want. 400 dollars for the collector boxes? That's ruff. I think a crash is coming down the line for the collectors stuff. So many people buying cards as investments that only get bought and sold by other people buying investments. At a certain point the market will figure out there isn't much organic demand for 300 dollar textured foils. At that point buylist prices on card kingdom and other sites will tank and tears will flow.
Fallout is identical except they took out commons and commander decks for this set. All your points are valid if it was normal print run and commander decks
All “underprinting” chatter is simply that unless we have direct say from WOTC or Hasbro. All TH-camr videos are speculation. Yes Cynthia Williams is out but that doesn’t mean the overprinting orders weren’t in. I could see held product vs less product printed more than anything.
There might be something interesting mechanically in there but the draw of the IP is nowhere at all near Fallout or even a fraction of Lord of the Rings. A vast majority of the comments I've seen on the unboxing videos out have been along the lines of "I'm glad I saw this, I'm cancelling my order".
I think this set is honestly the first "Universes Beyond Karlov Manor." I say that this is wizards first wake up call that universes beyond cannot carry a subpar product. A smaller set in aftermath boosters that players have already shown they do not like, no commander decks, and no draft environment. I could see beyond boosters going as low as eighty/eighty five.
I think you'll find that Assassin's Creed is way more popular than Fallout. Pretty sure that the former far outsells the latter.

tcg is not a good place to gather data about AC collector boxes right now because a lot LOT of people like me purchased from LGSes as soon as they had their allocations. I bought a case at my local for $280 per box. Why on earth would I buy from tcg then or now? Some LGSes still have CBB for below $300 in Chicago since it seems you are from around there. Hence the numbers are not a good representation now only allocations and numbers that LGSes can give us and it seems the CBB is very much like Fallout i.e short print high demand
Wizards took it personal no one pre ordered so we have fallout 2.0. I’m not taking any chances.
I was excited for this set when it was announced until I found out there was no commander decks.

Good as in what? Good for retaining its value or better or good in order to play with? Simply because of the serialized card(s) this set will have its collector edition stay above $400
Possibly - it’s under for now and idk how long we will care about ASC with MH3 still poppin and Bloom on the horizon. I’ve been wrong before and I’ll be the first to say I am if this one stays big for the long haul but I’m skeptical.

Assasins Creed is just as big as FallOut in the game market. So big they stopped themselves from going yearly release so they didn't burn out their fans but made huge releases with great value for the money.
People will flock, and a lot of the cards are perfect for lots of decks out there. They will be great for perfecting a lot of decks out there that are themed.
@zentec010-AC is a niche fanbase at best,some of the early games were good but it's not Fallout or Halo levels of popularity let's be real.
@@christianmathew398 As someone who does not like AC I see the fanbase go crazy over releases for the game we wouldn't put up with the crazy pricing that Ubisoft loves to dictate with their games.
