- Winter has taken hold in Canada's Arctic. The snow is here to stay for the year and the lakes are frozen. The trees are covered in the white fluffy stuff and the air is cold and crisp. This is perfect for getting away from the city and taking in nature in a tent with a wood stove. This is the first time I get to take the snowmobile out to my secret tent location and that means it should be a long season of winter camping in the bitter cold.

How much experience do I have?
That depends. I am pretty good at starting a fire these days and gathering wood. But I don't really have true bushcraft skills and definitely no carpentry or construction skills or training. I could probably make a shelter if I had to, but that would just come from all the TH-cam training (watching) over the years.
I find it refreshing that you can leave your tent and all your essentials and equipment unattended and come back to nothing stolen or damaged...good people there in your region of Canada.
Also, it's good to be well hidden. Ha.

Why is it so darn satisfying to watch you knock snow off the roof from the inside of the tent? It just is and I live for it!
When you said about the fantastic sleep you get out there, it makes me remember when my sister and I would go camping in the summer. When my head hit that pillow I was out for the count. The sun warming up the tent is what would wake me up. That's probably the last real good sleep I've had over the years.

Man, I wish we had that tent to live in!! We live in southern Maine and we’re homeless, living in our car. I did buy a 20 degree sleeping bag and it’s keeping us warm on the freezing nights. But, my favorite pizza is bacon!! I also like mushrooms and onions and the classic cheese pizza!!
What a great kickoff to winter! I was decorating my cabin/shack for Christmas tonight while watching your video. Had the wood stove going b/c we are hitting freezing temperatures in Tennesse right now. Your camp setup is one of my favorites and your videos never disappoint. Big Thanks Jay!

Jay u can keep your tent warmer by adding a inner lining. DYI a li Ning by adding cotton sheets to the frame which will give u a 2" air space between the outer tent and warm inside. It is the same principle as your bear/Russian tent.

Been watching and enjoying your videos for a couple years now. I notice you have to gather wood and kindling to get a fire started when you arrive at camp. My father would roll over in his grave if one of his sons did that.From a very young age we were taught to never never never leave the camp or go to bed without having a supply of wood and fire starter ready to go.Cheers.
He's right, Jay! Heaven forbid, you should arrive at the camp, in need of an emergency fire. In those cases, you'll have no time to collect or split kindling. You should always leave sufficient kindling behind, so you'll be able to start a fire at the drop of a hat! Stay safe!!

Double cheese, pepperoni and mushrooms. Along with a pitcher of beer. Thats the way my Father and I both would order when we were together. Sadly, he passed away in 2014. The snow is looking great. Have fun and stay safe.

My husband drags me (on skidoo) to our wilderness cabin in the NWT. I wouldn’t do it at all if it wasn’t for him…He is itching to get his new skidoo (snowmobile). 😀

I just love the sounds of wood burning in a wood stove so relaxing.I love a barbecue chicken pizza with olives, mushrooms, peppers ,chicken,bacon & cheese with a bbq sauce for the base on a homemade crust.🙂🇨🇦👍👍👍👍🍕

Always enjoy your vids when you just get away from it all and reset in the wilderness. That burger looked scrumptious too 🍔 When your dealing with temps like you have to deal with a good parka coat is a MUST HAVE 😲 oh nearly forgot you need to take some of them electolyte fruit drink powders out to camp with you to keep you properly hydrated and energised for all that wood chopping 😅👍😉

I would love that what you have I have finished my centerline gas bottle burner and got it home tonight it stands about 6 foot with chimney, it's out in garden so tomorrow my day off will set up and do a first good burn in it , and can't bloody wait !! Where I live on South Central Vancouver Island, we don't have temps below around -11C or -12 C if at all, so watching you camp in -45C, well I just can't imagine it!! I have had the experience to be in -37 in Quebec some years ago and could not wait to get home. What you're raised in I guess. Big Thanks Man! I can live Vicariously thru you!

The amount of snow ❄️ is crazy. The food looked great. Pizza of any kind is good. Favorite is Greek, meat lovers, deluxe, Hawaiian and of course CANADIAN. When I go to my camp 🏕 I sleep like a dead man. Fresh air and quiet space is where it's at.

A very relaxed, enjoyable video. I know what you mean by watching the snow falling especially at night. In my younger days, I'd be right out there with you or at least going for a hike. On the subject of pizza... I started making my own from scratch several years ago (dough & sauce). Once I got it perfected to my liking the family always wants to join in on pizza nights. So yeah, I know exactly what you mean for getting the pizza just the way we like it. But pineapple on pizza is a no no for me although some in the family like it. That's an ongoing controversy that people like to talk about. Thanks for the video. 👍
