Thank you so much for the detailed video. I have a 07 c280 4matic and I was about to purchase another transmission due to the clunking noise when I turned either way at slow speeds. With your video I know now for a fact it's my transfer case clutches. I found one in the junk yard with 44k miles on it. 😃👌💯 THANK YOU!!!
Hey Gary, just to let you know the clutches that go on planetary are available from Alto Products Corp. I have never used them personally but they are available.

correct, really no way to check preload, i actually did one last year, transtar sells a bearing kit, explained to customer about this, he had me do it anyway and worked out good
