My 2 cents: Volvo turbo heads has sodium cooled exhaust valves, something to consider if you swap the head on Goldie. Also, you say it has a misfire on the high end, my Volvos used to do that with high boost levels, what helped me was upgrading the ignition coil or as a work around use smaller gaps on the sparkplugs. The sparkplug gaps can also be a good test to know if it is the ignition that fails under high boost or if it is a fuel issue.

Can you tune in an antilag or 2-step function into the ecu somehow? big bang turbo volvo noises would be killer for track days.

Do you have any plans for lifting one of them? Once I start making "the fat stacks" I want to get a nice Wagon and lift it, make it into a Post-apocalyptic turbo-camper wagon xD

you may of lifted the head when u had the crazy high boost spike. glad to see her going again brother
if you got knock issues at the top it might help to run some cooler spark plugs, it's cheap and might do the trick.

where do you dyno your car in BC? i got a 1985 monte carlo CL, and want to know how much horsepower my little v8 305 5.0l runs. i got new exhaust pipe installed and took the cataylic converter out and some other small things, but dont know where to dyno my car here in british columbia. im in chilliwack area too. im thinking it sits at 215 or 190whp

this makes me miss daily driving my Volvo. Im not a pro mechanic but, the bubbles in the rad might be the water pump sucking air in, it could be a lower rad hose or water pump gasket. Typically it’ll have a coolant leak if that’s the case. Idk if Goldie is doing that.
YOu dont need to be a mechanic to work on a Volvo. Just get the workshop manual and you're set haha
Check your reservoir, I had a Volvo rad+reservoir in my AE86, kept getting massive bubbles, turned out it was a ittybitty SUPER small pinhole in the reservoir.
The boost spiking could have done the head gasket in or even lifted the head making the gasket fail

pretty sure a turbo from XC70 turbo not sure.
I think it’s a 16T turbo from a Volvo S70. I’m pretty sure Koltan had this turbo in the 940 he owned before.

Bad news man. My 760 turbo has a dead cylinder. So much oil leaking also. I’m gonna have to get rid of it, starting college and don’t have the money to fix it. Very sad day.
