    The Field Sweater looks great on you. I knit cowls and hats in the same colour but also would not knit a hat and sweater in the same colour. The Alpine Sweater is looking great. The yarn you bought is

    Happy Holidays. Your Field Sweater and Alpine Bloom are spectacular! The colors are so beautiful on you. You mentioned a possible tutorial on the pulled stitches on the Alpine Bloom. I would love that. I soak up your tutorials like a sponge, so I would be grateful if you have the time to film the tutorial. They are so clear and instructive. I learn so much from you. Have a wonderful rest of your holiday, and I look forward to each of your episodes. Be well.

    Love seeing your jumpers, they all look so beautiful on you. I agree with you with pattern support with any of Camilla Vlad's designs - there isn't any. This is why I love Ravelry, so much helpful advice just on knitter's project notes. I made the Magnolia Bloom cardi, but the English charts are different to the original language charts, I couldn't match the stitch count, sizing was huge, plus loads of written errors. Unravelled the cardi and took my time to read everyone's notes and found most people had the same problem. A few people mentioned to not bother emailing the designer, she doesn't answer back. Love her designs, would love to knit the field sweater, however, considering she's been notified of errors and hasn't fixed the pattern, I'm hesitant to support the designer any further.

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I feel the same way. I did buy the Magnolia Bloom sweater as I want to make it and it was 40% off. I am going in eyes wide open and will probably rely on other ravelers. But I am not inclined to purchase any more patterns given the errors and the lack of response: there are other designers I would prefer to support. :)

    Oh my goodness I love your Field Sweater and your Alpine Bloom. I really want to try the Alpine Bloom in 2024. Your color choice is gorgeous.
    I am definitely not a monogamous knitter. I need to have a complicated pattern, an easy for the car work, usually some hat or socks going. Usually at least 4 projects is my happy place. 😊

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks so much Maryann. The Alpine Bloom is great but definitely suits a non-monogamous knitter as there is a lot of colorwork and it kind of gets old at the end. Still, the result is worth it. :)

    Hi Tash, your Alpine Bloom colourwork looks glorious!!! I gasped out loud at the pulled float and would love to see how you fix it.
    My daughter is a big history aficionado so I incorporated secret messages into a pair of mittens by using the knitting Morse Code technique used by women spies in wartime. I loved researching and figuring out this secret project! Each mitten contains an hilarious phrase from comediennes we love and have become part of our family vernacular.
    I’ve never knitted mittens before, couldn’t get my head around how to do the code in the round so I knitted them flat and lengthways to keep track of the chart I made for each word. I was rapt (and relieved) that they actually worked out!
    Great episode as always, thank you. 😃🧶

    Like you, I am NOT a monogamous knitter. I like to have anywhere from 3-6 WIPS going. That way when I get bored with one, I put it down and pick up another one. I would get a lot less knitting done if I were
    monogamous because I think when I would get tired of one project, if I didn’t have another one to pick up, I would end up putting my knitting away and go read a book or do some other activity.
    I do have a limit on WIPS, though. If I get more than 6, I start to get really stressed out. This past year I had 11 WIPS going once and that was robbing my joy until I finished some of those projects.
    Currently on my needles: a wedding gift blanket, a blanket for me, girl and boy teddy bears with cute clothes for a charity auction, and a sock for me.
    Thanks for sharing your knitting and life.

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Karen. I think we are knitting twins. Everything you were saying about the process etc I was like yep, yep, yep. That's me too.
      It is interesting what you said about maybe if i was knitting monogamously i might get bored and put my knitting down and go do something else.... While i am knitting I do read, watch TV and podcasts and math teaching videos, chat with people, walk. I havent perfected eating and knitting yet but I am working on it. ;) I like that i can do other things I like to do and knit as well.
      But there are some things that i need to stop knitting to do such as sew, weave, crochet, journal, paint, um - clean and tidy the house.
      I just have to schedule them in or I will default to knitting. :)

    When spinning fiber, woolen doesn't have the fibers neatly arranged, worsted does. I remember the difference as woolen (has the L in it) is lofty and doesn't have the fibers laying side by side. Worsted (has the S in it) it is smoothed out as you do when you comb your hair. My wheel sits in my yarn room waiting for me to have time for it. I still go in and pet it once and a while, but don't have time to both spin and knit.

    2 things, First, I love the colors on your alpine bloom soo much I may just have to copy you if I can! Second, maybe you could trim the Fluffy near the face part on the hat to make it more enjoyable to wear? Kind of like a hair cut? I don't know if that would ruin it or not.

    • @mostlyknitting

      Thank you so much for your lovely comment: I would take that as the highest compliment if you chose colors the same or similar for alpine bloom. I love your idea of trimming the excess fluff around the turning point from Grayson. I am definitely going to give that a go. :)

    Your field sweater is wonderful! And thank you so much for the tutorials. I'm knitting the sleeves now and they were too tight so I am now following your idea of not doing any decreases until the end and that is so much better! But I was wondering, did you do the decreases all in one row? Thank you!

      Hi Kim. I did them all in one row just before the ribbing as i was quite happy to have a little blousy effect there. But you could just start them later and do them closer together. Best to just try on and try on as you go, and try on again.... :)
