At 7 minutes, hope you used enough marine grease so it doesn't stick in the future? Unfortunately, it is common for it to stick, and grease prevents it. Nice channel.
Great, just what I needed, mine has just stuck in neutral. Fortunately only 3m from the mooring. Another task for tomorrow. I had the same issue with my 9.8 2stroke. Heck of a job to free it. It may be that it was sprayed with WD40, which does cause some plastic to expand…beware!
Got onto it this afternoon. Big struggle, but managed to free it and pull it out. No significant corrosion in the housing, I think more the plastic had swelled . I have trimmed with a sharp knife, now works. Ready to put back together with plenty grease…well Vaseline, can’t find the grease.
@@markthomasson5077 Excellent! Well done! Vaseline should do the trick and make sure you flush the outboard through with fresh water after every use, that may help to stop it seizing again. Happy sailing! ⚓️
I can report that now running very well. The gear lever works like it never did before…I had assumed that the stiffness was normal. Now clicks over with hardly any effort. Also took off and cleaned the carburettor. Found the float chamber needle had a bit of corrosion, perhaps why it cut out occasionally.
Nose si me esplicado bien , donde la palanca de cambio hay una tapa que da al selector de cambio , pr hay es normal que al abrirla y arancarlo eche algo de agua (gotas de agua)

@@markthomasson5077 Hey there sailor! Glad you got yours sorted, and yes, WD40 isn’t always the best. Happy sailing! ⚓️

@@skipperstan it lives onboard, so can’t have that luxury.
Apparently the short shaft is spec for fresh water, the long shaft salt water

bravissimo! io ne ho uno uguale e ho fatto gli stessi lavori che hai fatto tu
Where did you order the gaskets? Looking for some for my outboard which is exactly the same as this
Hello sailor! I bought the gaskets from ebay. 👍
Es normal que pierda agua por la tapa de la palanca de cambio agua?
