- Hi my friends!! I hope everyone is having an awesome day :D I decided to drive to a brand new place for this dive adventure and had a blast trying to find the best dumpsters! I am so excited to have found more food, and even some cute storage carts and tubs! Woohoo!
I love trash picking because it allows me to do my part in reducing waste, it saves us money every week on groceries, and it makes donating on a regular basis possible. I hope my channel and videos encourage other people to give dumpster diving a try and see what you can find!

My thoughts exactly. I used to work with a load of them.They are tight and find parting with money very difficult.

My husband is Korean and my parents in law would get into huge fights if any fruit went bad and had to be tossed in the garbage. They would fight the entire day over it. My mother-in-law would yell at my father-in-law because he purchased too much and he would yell at her for throwing the food in the garbage. An entertaining visit for sure🙄

Hi Kelly, what a great find, bananas🍌 peppers🌶onions🧅and a watermelon 🍉. Wash, cut up and freeze anything you will not use right away for meals later on.. all the snacks for The Little Free Pantry is great. Any donation is better than nothing 🤗 have fun swimming, it looks super hot out there 🌞💖

Kelli when I saw Aldi on the dumpster I new you hit the jackpot. They do rotate their fruit and vegs out. They also throw away returns on things like your cart. Freaking Frugal dives there all the time. If you know when the trash pickup day is you can go early morning. They clean their shelves that night. Get there before pickup. Love when you give the peace sign at the start of your video's. You must be a old soul hippie😊

Throw the melon back in the trash when you get home. The opening allows bacteria and germs into the melon. And there is no telling how long it has been in there.Or how long the hole was in melon before it got to store. The bacteria and germs will travel thru out the melon.
I did end up throwing it away again! The hole started getting bigger and was leaking everywhere 😳
Yeah, I was thinking that, too. It could always be chopped up and used for compost, though.

Love to watch dumpster diving at Aldi. For hot dog rolls, put one per plastic snack bag - close top while gently forcing air out of bag. Put hot dog buns in the original bag and close gently squeezing out the air. Put bag in freezer, use as needed. They stay fresh longer, but you can grill them also. Use them for tuna sandwich melts, hot dogs, hamburgers you shape to cook like a hot dog , etc.....
You do need to try the frozen banana chunks for the smoothies. My favorite: 5 or 6 banana chunks, around 2 cups almond milk, half a tray of ice cubes and a heaping spoonful of expresso powder...my hubby liked a heaping spoonful of cocoa powder in his. It is so refreshing on a hot day and much healthier as cheaper than the coffee bars.
So good. I used to throw frozen strawberries in mine for strawberry-banana smoothies. It always tastes better than drive-thru smoothies!
Will have to make some up for brunch, yum!
Julia Collins when the skins darken you can still freeze them, they’ll just be sweeter. I put my bananas on a cookie sheet till solid then bag them up makes so much easier to take out just amount you need for a smoothie. Some people freeze with peelings on, I tried it & uh, not so good.

I really wish you would have jumped into that last dumpster where you said 'I don't have my grabber'. There was so much more good food in there. I hope some other DDs were able to get some of it. Maybe you can remember that location if you ever go back to Carrollton again. Park your truck next to the dumpster and jump in and just throw the produce into boxes into the back of your truck!!

So I don’t get out much anymore. But I did my first dumpster dive and found about 200 + nail polishes. We will sell next month at a garage sale I am doing with my daughter. Larkin, my mini poodle, doesn't eat any meal until we have a chedk.to check "cuddle cuddle" . After that, she usually eats, but sometimes she wants cuddle cuddle more, and after the third time, I ignore her because my meal is waiting for me. Poodles are social eaters, wanting to eat while people eat, ie, break bread together! She's cute!

Awww Pilgrim is so adorable!! My dog (she's a dauschund) does not like the camera at all! I try to catch her doing funny or cute things and she just stops doing it or runs off. So glad she's not the only camera shy doggie out there!! Keep sharing your finds and your life!

I am so glad to see you save food from the dumpster! You just have to clean it! Some divers are so finicky and even if you donate that's a good thing! People are having a hard time right now! Get ALL of those bananas and donate! Children will eat those! Chop those peppers and onions and freeze them! I do this to make cooking easier!

I put a cute little pantry in my front yard. Response was great. People picking up and dropping off. Then someone stole my pantry!

I talked to the woman who had the pantry installed, and she said when someone drops off food, it normally only takes 15-30 minutes before it’s been taken! Unfortunately, Denton has a fairly large homeless population, so there are many in need.

That dumpster you found the vegetables, the cart and the lobster baskets was an Aldi dumpster, you should make apart of your route. Especially after the big holidays.
With all those bananas you could make banana bread, peanut butter and banana ice cream. 🍌🥜🍦🍌🥜🍦
Peanut butter and banana ice cream. Just 2 ingredients.
4 ripe bananas 🍌🍌
2 tbsp peanut butter 🥜🥜
Peel bananas and slice into 1/2 inch slices. Put the slices in a single layer on a large plate or baking sheet. Freeze for 1-2 hours.
Place the banana slices and the peanut butter in a food processor or powerful blender. Puree until the mixture is creamy and smooth. Serve immediately for soft-serve ice cream consistency. If you prefer harder ice cream, place in the freezer for a few hours and then serve.
Easy and healthy. You should try it. You could change it up, banana and strawberry icecream. 💕💜💕💜💕💜💕🇩🇰

Take those bananas and peel them. Put into zip lock bags and freeze. I use these for smoothies with strawberries, blueberries, etc. Also can be used in muffins, banana bread, etc. Enjoy!

Banana chips! Lol that is all I saw when I saw the bananas! You can freeze them as well! Just put them threw a processor and meassure the right amount out for your favorite banana loaf or muffins to make it easy on your self.
Omg all the bananas in the last dumpster. They were in perfect condition. Who else thought of banana bread and banana muffins and Smoothies and nice cream for the next weeks? 🤤😄
Also is the best place to dive for food. Frugal mommy finds loads in their dumpsters.

Just watched Just Me Cathie , watched StevenandSteph earlier. Now gonna enjoy watching your adventures. Only purple onions were recalled.. Oh I see banana bread and smoothies could be happening. I got a half of case of bananas. They were right on top. Like everything I pick You can wash them. and one thing about bananas is if you hv room in freezer they’re great for smoothies. Or squish them up and stack in ziplock freezer bags so don’t take up much room. If you like banana bread or the smoothies. Yep watch couple of vids on freezing fruits and vegetables. Even milk. I volunteered at a food pantry and the expiration date is only that the stores can't sell it past that date. But think about it if you have milk and its past the date, and you smell the milk it is not bad. It can be good to drink up to a week after. So don't just throw some things away, of course frozen and thawed must not be eaten.
I really wish you could have gotten that nice table at the apartment complex. May have not been this video. But that was nice. You have such a pleasant attitude.I really enjoy watching you. You should watch curbside divers. They have a handle that likes fits on a home and on the end they put something similar to a rack and a tip to,catch the bags on and twist to,bring things close to you. I think someone gave it to them

there's a reason stores throw food away. This rash of people 'dumpster diving' and eating it or giving it away without checking it is mind numbing. You don't know what else is in that dumpster, animals defecating, bad weather. People can get sick from this stuff.

A place for everything put a little dowel across 1 side to put all your rolls of packing tape type stuff.Enjoy your swim. it's sooo refreshing . My parents had a huge pool growing up. I was like a fish couldn't keep me out. LOL Memory's their the greatest.

You both must think about investing in a freezer for in your garage.I freeze chips,pastries,cereal,flour,sugar,muffin-cake-mixes,etc. You can freeze butter & margarine when on sale.It is endless what you can freeze that you really do use regularly.
Looks like you should get a food dehydrator. I love to dry bananas. Makes great snacks. Or you can take the banana out of the skins and freeze them for smoothies etc. I also dry bell peppers, onions, greens, tomatoes, fruit. Pretty much everything can be dried. I also can everything too. Might look into food preserving. I'm canning green beans, potatoes and corn beef today.

Crayons can be used as candles in a pinch. Also bring the bananas to the food bank!

The onions on recall are the purple ones.
It expanded a little to yellow ones just recently. And its limited but also sometimes difficult to trace your onions especially if unmarked and in a dumpster. I mean they looked good, no shame to dumpster onions just maybe harder to trace for a recall situation.
I enjoy seeing when you find good food and put it to use on the other hand it is sad to think of all the food that is wasted.
