If anyone is considering this car it’s the perfect little daily driver. I have the 2018 base model and it has everything you could want for the price point. Blue tooth, touchscreen, decently quiet cabin, big trunk for the car size and it’s easy to work on. It has decent car speakers and you can’t beat the gas mileage with a normal transmission and not a CVT. Surprisingly enough the car has a “sport” mode but all it does is just sets the transmission to quick shift around 3k RPMs, which I just use to merge onto streets quickly and the freeway.

I drove a 2011 accent that I bought new in 2012 and I wasn’t making a lot of money at 21 years old. My first new car and I wasn’t sure it would be a good car but Hyundai surprised me. I drove a long commute for those 4 years and I enjoyed the low payment and what it got me. Reliable smooth quiet affordable comfortable transportation. It was peppy and smooth and the engine just purred. I had no issues while putting 66k miles on it. It wasn’t as well equipped as this one. I was treated great when getting oil changed at Hyundai dealer service department and it was then that I decided I would buy another Hyundai without hesitation. I’ve had 2 since and they’ve been as good as my friends Hyundai & Toyota and Nissan counter parts. This car is affordable and reliable and smooth. The long warranty is a plus. Thanks for bringing us this look at a new Accent.

I owned an accent for 4 years. It was before the crossover craze started. I was terrified to buy an inexpensive car and an accent at that in 2012 but I ended up loving the car. Super affordable smooth reliable quiet and trouble free. I have owned the Elantra and Sonata and just got a new Tucson! Long warranty and just good bang for the buck

I got one mine is 2019 6 speed manual transmission but is really decent I squeeze out upto 42 miles per galon and commonly 38-40, is quite silent it moves decent for the 120hp it has and so far I got no complains

I owned a 2018 Elantra for 3yrs. Loved that car, but it gave me too many problems, so I sold it. Now I'm looking to replace it. I don't like the look of the new 2021+ Elantra, so I'm considering the Accent instead. The exterior design looks like a shrunken version of my 2018 Elantra. I love that. Just not sure if it'll be too cramped, too uncomfortable, too slow, too noisy in comparison. This video makes me think it's zippy enough and quiet enough for me to be happy. Your testimony helps as well. My only annoyance is that this time around I'd really love to have auto climate control, but I don't want the sunroof and harder riding 17" wheels that are part of that Limited trim also.

When I was shopping for a new car in 2018, I cross-shopped the Elantra and Accent. It was about a $2k difference comparably equipped. I hope they still make Manuals. The Accent I drove in stick was actually pretty nice. Each gear felt positioned pretty much exactly where I'd want them to be, the clutch was nice and easy, it didn't really jerk around too badly (unlike a certain Volkswagen company I know) and was pleasant to drive. But honestly, I don't like CVT's that pretend to shift like they're regular cars with regular transmissions. I don't think anybody actually wants their car to do that.

Can't say much abt affordable cars using CVT these days. I just hope they will last long just like the conventional auto gearbox.

I used to hate the Hyundai Accent, however I realized that my 2009 has never given up on me, just routine maintenance nothing else. Never has been broken or died on me, even after 10 years. I can't say the same thing about a Chevy Impala I had, junk!! or the mustang, broken every few months.
Well done piece of shit, well done

As much as I like the new accent, for the same price you could get a base Elantra.
