No, a separate green beam was created for the crystal, and if you pull out the cart, then this separate beam will move away along with the cart and the resonance cascade will not stop
You can press E to pull the cart but the rays will still be connected to the crystal and still cause a resonance cascade, but the difference is a Vortigaunt will spawn on top of it and kill you.
Breakers. Have them. (And make them G-Man proof, seriously that smug contractor ruins things left and right.) Additionally... *Awesome, the* *The Combine suspect nothing*
Me on this timeline when the resonance cascade never happened. Caroline and wallace breen became friends and reanamed black mesa into blapeture Mesa. The scientists, cores, and glados choose to do other experiments and the combine never invaded. Gordon and Collette are married and have kids of their own. Chell was released since the test subjects are disbanded. Dr Magnuson and issac kliener both helped wallace and Caroline work together doing other things. A statue of cave johnson was built to honor his legacy.
Things that didn't happen because of this: The Resonance Cascade The Black Mesa Raid The G-Man stealing Gordon The Combine finding Earth The 7 Hour War The Combine's Rule of Earth The Earth Rebellion
Gman in the backgroud: what is the best way of wiping out a non-existent Earth threat ? Cause a cataclysm first, it'll open the portals - humanity will be wiped but that doesn't matter - for them to come, and after a decade you, *YOU* will wipe them out
Since it was Gina and Colette who turned the power on below the test chamber, and were there the whole time, as we saw in Decay, why couldn't they simply turn the power off? If you try to do that, to pull the lever back into 'OFF' position, nothing happens, the lever doesn't move. Why? What's holding it and preventing it from moving? It makes no sense.
Good question. Judging by the crowbar that was also down there, I'm guessing that someone made some "modifications" to the AMS, yet another contributing factor to the resonance cascade
@@TheRealGears Possibly. In-universe explanation would be that G-Man probably tampered with it. I doubt he jammed the elevator with the crowbar, though, since it would be counter-productive to his goal. It's like someone tried to throw a proverbial wrench into G-Man's proverbial gears with an intent to sabotage his plan, or at least slow him down. 🤔
i feel like the resonance cascade could’ve also been prevented if Gordon simply pulled the cart out.

makes u wonder why they wouldnt have a breaker to cut power as a failsafe
suppose we wouldnt have a game if Gabeard Newellington was dry like that
or why gordan couldnt pull the thing out
you can, it just doesnt do anything except break the game by spawning a vortigaunt in the chamber(?)@@awesomeboss3634
@@awesomeboss3634 you actually can but the green lighting follows the crystal
