    Looks good. The last time I ran Viparspectra, I used their lame blurple “1000W” lights. This was also back in like 2016-2017. I also like the cuts in the video. Looks great guys.

      @@Highigan Nice nice. I’ll have to give them another try and oh yeah, lights have def come a long way. I remember my old Platinum P450 LEDs. I thought they were the bomb, the can all, be all lights. And now…they’re just kinda collecting dust for the last half decade. 😆

      Yea me too. Started with ViparSpectra blurps. They worked, but compared to new LED tech, there's no comparison. Instagram pictures are much better too lol.

      I have a couple of the Vipar blurps in a box in my closet... I have a bunch of the new Vipar quantom boards, best bang for the buck out there!

    • @MultiBrando88

      Good video. Was also hoping for a comparison to the reflector series, largely because they are of the dual switch burple variety. I just purchased a p1500 and I'm very satisfied so far, but my first few lights were burples (mind you made by cheap random Chinese companies) because my research at the time led me to believe that the dual switch function would allow for better power utilization and a more targeted light spectrum for different stages of growth. I've since bought several different quantum board-style lights and in several ways I like them much better-- they're lighter in weight, don't have those annoying loud cooling fans, and are more pleasing to the eye and much less obtrusive. And as it turns out, they have a lower power draw than my burple lights with equal or better output. So I'm pretty sold on the quantum style and based on some of these other comments it seems like burples are becoming an outdated thing of the past. I still come across testimonials arguing for these kinds of lights though, and I'm wondering if anyone with lots of growing experience can give me an informed fairly definitive answer on which might be best (assuming the same budget for each)? Thanks.

    For the cost of that 100 watt you can double your output by going with two GH1000, same price for two and same features. Don't know why they like to charge such inflated prices for spider/mars stuff, it's all made in the same Chinese factory. Prices are so cheap nowadays tho, a 2x2 tent used to cost 600+ now they give them away haha. Great video guys. Bikes!

    This video helped me majorly decide what led light to get. It came in today and it’s absolutely amazing I got to say. At 100% it lights up my whole room and the dimmer knob is just so convenient. Saw a lot of reviews from last year mentioning it getting too hot, but so far mine is as warm as my room. The mars hydro ts 600 I purchased before and returned has nothing on viparspectra when it comes to quality, features, and also being budget friendly. I purchased the viper spectra xs1500 using code highigan. Thanks for the informational video. Anyone wondering on what led company to invest to that’s the best bang for you buck. Definitely check out viperspectra!!

    I have 3 viparspectra lights. They are a good light. (Yet the lights don't cover what they say they do)
    Just hope you don't have to dealing with customer service. Tried to return a xs2000 that was clearly used or defective. Coating was peeling off. Got burning out / unable to touch it. Not enough par according to there website. They fought the whole way returning it. Tried to ask if I would test it, and make videos for them. Tried to give me 5% discount to deal with it. Took a week to get a return label. When they did receive the light back they still asked if I wanted to exchange it.
    I'll dealing with a company that is more professional.

Couldn’t make up my mind till I just watched this and yes the prices do change which I found strange. The xs was $186 as of yesterday and saved another $10 bucks with your code. Vipar Spectra makes top shelf stuff. I have 7, all XS series, and all work flawlessly. I thought I had a bad XS-1000, but it turns out they changed the dimmer design a while back and the new dimmer design doesn't have an "off" setting. I thought my new one was bad until I looked around online, and saw they made a running change, and didn't bother to tell anyone. The lights are identical to the last detail, except the newer ones don't turn off. Would have been nice for them to throw in a note or sticker, or at least change the sheet that comes with them.
    Great lights, I'm an electrical engineer with years in the industrial controls world, and the Vipar Spectra are built as well as any true "Industrial" lighting equipment I've run across (often at over 10 times the price). I recommend buying multiples of smaller lights rather than fewer of the larger ones. multiple Xs-1000 (or 1500s) let you shift lights around and set them at different heights to get what you want as far as distribution - but you'll want a good par meter to set the dials/heights with less guesswork and fewer (if any) hurt/underperforming plants.
    I really don't think you can go wrong with ViparSpectra, beginner or long time grower - Go XS, they are only a smidge more expensive, and carry the best, most current available components without wasting your money on stuff that doesn't get the job done.
    Thanks guys, good look at ViparSpectra lines.
    PS - my contest plant just got an upgrade from an XS-1000 to an XS-2000.... but don't tell her why, one of her sisters had an unfortunate encounter with a lopper so it suddenly became available....
    She's doing well, I apologize for dropping off the discord, been taking of my mom and dad. I'll get some pix up soon. She's doing great, hard to believe she was snapped clean off as a seedling, got dipped in Clonex and stuffed in a rockwool cube. Started 2 replacements that day, they died, the "dead" one is just rockin. Turned into a bushy bush. Guess it's true, plant em and leave them be. I've done almost nothing but top up the nute - she also got a hydroponics conversion - still in the hydroponics cube, and still in the cup, but it's clay balls in it and an airstone in the bottom. Fork holes in the cup (were air holes for soil) and a cat treat container reservoir. Seems to work pretty well!
    OK, run on enough, Thanks guys, hope to catch the next stream...

    • @Highigan
      @Highigan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the awesome comment! We wish they had an off option on the dimmer like the old ones, wonder why they removed it? Get a new pic in for the next live cupdate!

      Hi,what would be the best choice in a 2x4 ?,would 2x xs2500 be too much light ?

    • @scottmarshall6766
      @scottmarshall6766 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the 2500 is a P series, and I don't own any of those. The XS series all have built in dimmers, so multiple smaller lights gives a lot of setup options that one larger light doesn't. In a 2x4, 2 XS1000s or XS1500s would be more than adequate and leave room to grow should you upsize in the future. With the extra spread and light, you can hang them higher to get better coverage and reduce the chance of light burn. I have one of the larger 4" XS lights, but find the smaller lights allow you to put the light where you want it, and turn them down if all the power isn't needed. Come flowering time, you can turn them up as required. Both the XS1000 and XS1500 are $20 off on Amazon right now. Enjoy your grow!

    XS 2000 in a 2 x 2 grow tent probably yield up to eight ounce if you know what you're doing which is pretty good compared to how much you pay for electricity.It's comparable with a 430 high pressure sodium with almost half the electricity not to mention to heat.Personally I own a Mars Hydro SP 3000 which is one of the best in the market but next time I definitely would buy the XS 2000 from viparspectra.

    I’m currently running a TS600 & a BP1000 together in my 2x4. Both add up to a relative 200w. I’m really tossing up getting the xs2000 cos I know I don’t have coin for a TSL2000 - but I’m not quite sure the XS will cover 2x4. However irrespective, I know I can always use either the TS or BP alongside the XS if need be.
    I think I just want a new light to make me feel better about using a 2x4 more efficiently. Cos I’m honestly unsure about flowering (possibly 4 plants) in the 2x4 with just the BP1000 & TS600.

      What size area are you wanting? Vipar (like many others) is overly generous with their coverage numbers. The P2000's where recently upgraded, they now have 700 diodes versus 600 with the same 200W rating which is excellent for extending their lifespan. 2 of these in a 2X4 is ideal.

    Looking to replace my inefficient burples. I recently purchased a p1500 and no complaints so far but hasn't been long enough. I also have two other sun-like lights for seedlings and veg (gerylove sp1000 and hlg 65 v2), but I am wanting something that I can use for flowering and will deliver optimal results. While I'd love to go with HLG based on their reputation and the fact that they use top bin 301H diodes, it's just not in my budget right now and I'm more concerned right now with something that can take me through the next year over the next 3-5 years (hopefully a year from now I'll have more $$$ lol). I've been told that this is the major difference between a company like hlg and viparspectra, that the lower bin diodes, even if still 301Hs or Bs, have a lower efficacy, devoting less energy to light and more to producing heat, and are more likely to dim over time. Although they're official partners with Samsung I'm not even sure if spider farmer or mars hydro use top bin diodes so I think for now I'm going to be phasing out my burples with xs series lights. Thanks for the video.

    • @Highigan
      @Highigan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have had great results with the XS series, higher end diodes and drivers at a fair price! Been running them 1yr+ zero issues! Lifespan for diodes is very long any of these lights could easily last years. Spider farmer has had ongoing issues with conformal coating degrading and yellowing / peeling. Photosyntech did a video covering that. No issues like that with our vipars after all this time, the 4x4 running at 20/4 the entire last year! Id say go with what fits your budget! We do have discounts for vipar that stack on their amazon sales you can save alot!
