    bro, i will change that chin up drawing, and use you as a model instead, trying to do your face, and change the body to look more like yours. and i plan to draw Ronnie Coleman next to it.

    I presume you put the bag in your car, drove to the park and carried it to your workout point? Unless you carried it to your workout point? I am getting the feeling there could have been a mini workout before the real workout started!😄

      You're not wrong! I had to warm up at home before even carrying it to the car, then unload and walked it maybe 40m, then reversed the process. The worst was back to the car. I was going to only use it at home for that reason but I so much prefer outdoors if I can get away with it. Also, the 50kg isn't feeling as heavy as it did initially, I think I'm getting used to it quite fast. When I bought them Tues I did wonder if I'd over shot myself

      Thanks Matt. Not sure I actually saw your sandbag yet. I got this off eBay with a bigger and a small broken one, keep checking eBay for local bargains 👍 I got them for less than the price of the sand ( they came filled)

    What are your thoughts on Heavy Carries brother? Specifically farmer carries, with a load in your left and another one in your right hand
    Brilliant work here
    The sandbag looks like such a brilliant tool

      I think it doesn't get much more functional! But perhaps asymmetrical carrying might give even more (or just different) benefits, like if I had 50kg divided into each hand, I'd probably walk the same distance but my grip would give out but my body would be generally balanced whereas, one 50kg on my shoulder, taxes more legs and upper body stabilisers, more ankles work. Both would probably be ideal to train, but 50kg on the shoulder is quite an efficient and likely way to have to carry a single heavy load, such as an injured person. Ideally, I want to work upto bodyweight, 80kg

      @@HybridGym thanks for your thoughts
      I noticed exactly the same, this exercise just feels right
      Due to lack of enough kettlebells, I usually carry one 28kg kb in one hand and one 20kg kb in the other
      And then I switch the sides. This inequality with regards to the weight adds a nice layer of complexity

    Looks like some real fun work and the squats to make it serious. Like a workout mullet. Hefting, carrying... soon running. Then the volunteer fire department will be offering to pay you to join the brigade!

      You know, I got up this morning and felt better than usual! A little sore, very little, a little stiff in places, but generally a good feeling. I think the concentration required to keep one repping a weight that could damage me if done incorrectly really focused my attention and put the load into good places. I used the breathing, drove through the toes and feet, kept the back neutral and pelvis under the load, was really fun!

      Hehe this sesh went much better than hoped! I'd planned to just pull it to waist and chest for reps, but it flew up to the shoulder immediately. I plan to do around two months with the 50kg till it's really comfortable then start with the 60kg, but already I'm thinking 70, 80kg should be possible... But most of all I want to avoid injury and not get ahead of myself! Thanks for the inspiration, while I've known of strongman sandbags for sometime, watching you tipped me over into actually trying it

      It's totally feel good training! I'm not used to this kind of thing, the concentration needed and synchronization to pull it off. One rep I didn't show, I just totally over balanced and fell over, it's easy to do if your mind wanders I think. I'd do it again today if I could but don't want to risk a good thing. I can already see the possibility of doing bodyweight and what a benchmark that would be. I say not used to it, but rings are similar in a sense, definitely get better results for mindful practice and good synchronisation

    • @Jimperial
      @Jimperial 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@HybridGym oh you’re absolutely spot on with the concentration thing! You have to be there 100% or the bag’s gonna defeat you haha. Same with rings.
      Being able to shoulder bodyweight is an awesome goal. It’s nice to know that you can carry a grown person in your shoulder and move! Nothing is more functional than that!

    • @HybridGym
      @HybridGym  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @Jimperial I agree. I long thought about one arm hangs and muscleups similarly, as survival and rescue tools, in fact one image I have when I sprint is to run at an aggressor attacking my family or sometimes running from an angry animal. I didn't make the mental leap to lifting or carrying so much as I've thought of it as more injury prone, but that's probably as I imagined leaping in with bodyweight style lifts and not doing the slow work building up resilience on the way
