Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.
Really cool idea, perfect for a small or really lite person. Probably the only acceptable condition for the rim of that wheel, I've used them before but that rim is not very strong , would need to use a steel rim from a wheelbarrow or front rim of a riding mower for anyone more than 50lbs. But in this case it's perfect. Awesome job.
The wheels you can get at home depot or lowes, they're usually meant for wheel barrows, 2-wheel dollies, snow blowers and ride around lawn mowers. Electric motor aren't really hard to come by, Amazon would probably be best bet if you don't have any hardware stores around.
Nice one! How are you happy with motor power in up-hill run? I want to build someting similar but I want to tow my daughter on sledge behind to the up to the hill. I think 350W is not enough, right? Thank you.
Have you made any tweaks to this? I modified my snowracer and next year will probably add a motor. Ideally one that can be removed easily. Anything you wish you did differently?
Heh, nice.. Back in the early 90's me and my friend's did do similar. Only that we made it with chainsaw engine and some.. 6 i think? Saw blades side by side. It was used on icy lake. Under the front ski, there was somekinda metal thing, cannot remember anymore. But helping guide the steering on ice. Damn it was fun. But a bit scary, we didnt have any covers anywhere lol.
Uea I hate youtube now I was just talking earlier today to my coworker about making something like this for my son and here this pops up into my must watch
"a little too much snow?" ... I get it..but where there's as will, there's a way...what adjustments would be needed to modify that vehicle to handle a heavy snow scenario? Larger frame perhaps...with larger wheel, gear and motor...added suspension? I'm in Chicago, USA and just inherited a basement FULL of power tools and alot of time on my hands.
The only effective way to handle large amounts of snow is with a track, large surface area to get more traction. That's why all standard snow mobiles have tracks. Adding more or larger wheels wouldn't solve this because they still only have small cross sections in contact with the snow.
Nice project 😺 But my brain hurts when you're using the lathe. Don't you have a tailstock to the lathe? Some day the workpiece is going to orbit, hopefully not hurting you or someone else. And your work will be much better quality when using the tailstock 😺 When you "show" us the specifications of the electric motor, please speed down the video so we have a chance to read 😸 Keep up the good work and stay safe 😺

We've all been thinking about something like this... and you've presented it to us.. thank you so much bro..!
Dual sand rail tires would balance it out better, possibly more traction?
Awesome bro !!!
Thank you my friend
I know I am kinda randomly asking but does anybody know of a good website to stream new series online?
cool! but can you tell us where you got the parts from? Wheel, motor?
Harbour freight sells all that shit right down to small engines

@@jomama3533 literally harbor
U can get the frame on amazon look up kids snowmobile sled bike or whatever youll see it
Cool idea with an okay result. It gave me a lot of ideas for sure.
why use the pillow block bearings when the wheel has bearings? could have just made axle plates?

i would recommend 700-1,000w
I’m thinking about taking the hub motor from my ebike kit. That was 1000w 48volts. If it is the same as the ebike the voltage is more important.
How do you keep your shop so clean ?

Awesome, now to build one with a diesel motor. 🤙

Pretty cool sleds bro.
Thanks 🙏
Very nice!! How many watts is the motor?
Thanks
350w
@@Gs_DIY_ideas Thank you. Please keep designing similar items for snow mobility, something for adults.... I'm very interested in.
Maybe should have put the wheel up a little bit higher so it wasn't so tipsy but still nice build
Fat tire at the rear would maybe work better ?
Needs tracks, you can see this thing is going anywhere in any sort of snow lol. Better off using an old snowblower track for better traction.
Fantastic

I literally just got a snow racer and now I want to build it into this
What motor did you use?
its the cheap 24v bike coversion motors

Kool idea very slow tho
There alot of faith in that drive chain ⛓️
Dont quite trust your welding or bracing.
Nice project 😺

Thanks for your feedback
You must add cover to chain for children safety.
Welding with no helmet is brilliant, your eye lids do not protect protect against those rays brother.
Bra jobbat
Красавчик!
Maybe show it working somewhere else but down hill? Looked like it got stuck at the bottom of the driveway there tbh
sadly, needs a track it seems...buy nice job, btw...
Ya that'd take it to the next level. Also replacing the plastic skis with real ones
Maybe a paddle tire would work.
ah yes, cause everyone has a drill press at home 😂 nice job tho
So great ! Be continues to another idea.
Thank you
I Need one !
i had a funny ideas when i was thinking about the little sleds
Sure buddy let me just bust out my lathe...
Nice
I love this weird shit!
why has nobody done this before
Wrong tire use a large lug tire like sand buggies use
Какие у вас не красивые детские снегакаты(. В России есть снегакаты по цене 30$. Да и не плохо было бы поставить пружину на колесо
😍❤🌹🌻💐🙏👍
Ok I'm inspired WHERE'S THE TOOL BOX I've gotta build something
Heres an even better idea bro, learn to weld
