The Stormers defence held strong for the second game in a row at Newlands, running out 13-0 winners over the Bulls.

The Stormers defense are on another level. The kicking needs to improve. They looked way better than what they scored. Reminds me of 2012 when they had the best defense but isn’t scoring much.
Yeah we need a kicker to round off that aspect of our ability. Du Plessis is prolly the best in the squad but only slightly better than Leyds and Willemse but he's the super sub.
Also the defensive pattern is drilled into all the Saffa teams by Rassie as you would see, well, maybe the Lions need to get back to the drawing board.
I really love this commentator, he is so enthusiastic!
Newlands crowd never disappoints
Yes it does, sadly. In the late 90's, the stadium was boasting almost double what it is getting now. 1998 Stormers v Blues, not even a local derby, and we had over 49k tickets sold. Taking inflation into account, tickets were more expensive then too, yet we still filled the place.

@@RedLorryYellowLorry_ As a long time Stormers fan, I see that my bankrupt team is moving away from Newlands at the end of the year and that the second oldest stadium in the world is going to get demolished and replaced by some shitty housing development. I am not even saying that keeping the numbers up over 40k would have changed any of that, but it certainly would not have made it worse. Surely the extra R2m or so every weekend could have helped keep the wolves away, even for a little while?
PS What the rest of the competition get up to, and how full / empty their stadiums are, does not change the Stormers plight one little bit.
Excellent to see a packed house, disappointed in the crowd at Joburg.

Wasn't very packed. The top spaces were almost all empty. The main stand was also far less packed than the Railway Stand shown in the video.

Why did the Stormers end the game, they should have gone for a try, they could have gotten a bonus point if they scored a try, and they couldn't have lost the game if they got turned over.
It's about sending the Bulls home with 0 log points, had we gone for the try and the Bulls counter and score they get a point out of the game. Just the 4 point win was enough to put the Stormers in the #1 spot. It also takes just a split second to lose another vital player, they already lost Kolisi and Bongi. Take the 4 and get off the field.
Why did the commentator say this was the last time Newlands will host Super Rugby matches?

Good win for the Stormers but really not up to par, if they play like this NZ teams will dominate them.. Well done though. From the Start of this season Sharks seem like they are getting going faster and better right now. . Anyway go SA teams.
Tyronne Jardim yea. They put 27 points on the hurricanes last week. Last check, they are for Wellington in NZ.
The Sharks looked just as kak against the bulls last weekend, the only difference being now the Stormers have gone 160 minutes without conceding a point, all they need is someone who can kick.
SA teams look shit against each other because the both try to play Rassie game against each other. When they play against NZ teams they look great
Awesome crowd but terrible rugby on display. Both teams trying to play Rassie rugby but don't have the quality to execute it
Making it a traditional style of play in SA teams so the players get use to it. It makes things easier when they play in the Bok squad because they all understand the style of play
Thats because Rassie wants all Saffa rugger players to get into that mind set. But at the same time to create and execute offensive opportunities.
