Elton Jantjies surpassed 1000 points in Super Rugby, but it was the Lions youth that stole the show on the way to a 47-39 victory over the Jaguares in Johannesburg.

I still wonder as to why Kwagga Smith is not on the national team. I mean the guy is a very good ball facture, his acceleration is prefect, defense wise his also good. Why the guy is on the bench atleast?
From the 20th minute of the first half, the Jaguares players were asking for air.
Obviously the altitude of Johannesburg affected them a lot.
However, they didn't give up and played until the end. Lions did not know how to keep the game. They almost lost the game.

Terrible ref, and i hate to point out that.
Referee was a disgrace. Lions deserved the win, no question about that, but the match deserved better, less biased, refereeing as well. Just an example: the players going for the ball at 3:52 are all offside. Shameful.
The ball is touched by a juguares player so there is no offside

Está bien, Fritz, ahora el nivel de juego fue paupérrimo. Hay tipos que no pueden jugar rugby profesional. Ya sé, es fácil criticar sentado en el sillón de casa, pero hay muchísimas cosas que no se entienden. Cancelliere y Ezcurra no son aptos para el profesionalismo. Dejan a Lezana en el banco o lo ponen unos minutos, no sé para qué. Lezana es un muy buen jugador, y así le van quitando cada vez más confianza. Landajo no puede jugar más. Fijate, cuántos pibes en Argentina darían la vida por estar ahí y ganar la mitad de lo que ganan estos tipos! El partido muy mal planteado. Si estos son los suplentes de los "Pumas", estamos fritos!!!! No hay ideas, y los Lions jugaron con muchos suplentes también. A mí Díaz Bonilla no me gusta, pero eso es una cuestión de gustos. Sin embargo creo que Urdapilleta es mejor jugador, y Pato Fernández también. Si no cambian radicalmente el estilo de juego, se vuelven en la primera ronda del Mundial. Y lo peor de todo es que hay potencial, hay muy buenos jugadores. Yo no sé si esto es Lobby, amiguismo, o qué, pero aquí hay gato encerrado. Osadczuk es 10 veces mejor que Cancelliere, y Cancelliere sigue jugando (o no jugando, pero está de suplente hasta en los "Pumas"). Terminemos con el verso, el Rugby Argentino es mucho más que esto que están mostrando estos pibes! Hay que hacer de una vez por todas las cosas seriamente.
@@derblindesanchez7250 Fue horrible. Me tuve que levantar del sillón e irme en un momento del odio que me daba verlos. Entiendo que había muchos suplentes en Jaguares, pero el bajísimo nivel de Ezcurra, Cancelliere, y otros es injustificable. Abrazo!!

This ref's judgement on certain plays is really terrible, he sucks big time. The Lions played better so the win is completely fair, but Jaguares could've score a couple of easy tries to finally win the game. And by the way, Moroni's lack of professionalism cost Jaguares the defensive BP, i mean how the hell can anyone kick that conversion with so much disrespect to his own teammates and so much disregard for the game?? You are not MORONI, you are MORONi!!!!
i agree with evrything you said except that it was not moroni it was Mallia who kicked and he is a youngster so even if that kick will haunt me the whole week, its forgivable regardless of how very costly it was
@@Argenswiss I just saw the replay from another source, you were right, Moroni was about to kick it but as the camera zoomed away i saw him pass the ball to a teammate, altough i couldn't identify who it was, but if you say it was Mallia i believe you.
Having said that, of course Mallia is a youngster and it's completely understandable that eventually he will gain more experience, specially if he wants to be eligible to play at a high level competition such as this one, but it'd better be the last time he kicks a ball with that kind of disrespect an disregard for everything and everybody. He's no amateur now.

Jaguares, in this very round couldn't play well organized without key players like Creevy, Matías Orlando, Bertranou or Cubelli..., at least 4 newbies meeting Lions at home...

11 changes, the first team of Jaguares was resting. The second team is clearly a mess... on top of that, referee was clearly biased. All in all, Lions deserved the win, no doubt about it.
Seems like that because there's no attack up north.

Jaguares scored their final tries against the Lions 3rd string.
Even after all, it wasn't that bad at all for Jaguares, who manage to put Lions 6 tries, and playing without very key players like Creevy, Orlando, Cubelli, and unfortunately Bofelli in minute 20.
Escurra, Cancelliere and Landajo were not focused in the game. JC Malia missed an easy conversion under the posts...
Having Jaguares made 11 changes to face Lions at home, and with that referee..., Jags somehow gave the hosts a battle ending the game in a very close margin.

Exceptionally POOR defense by the Lions against the Jaguares to allow 26 unanswered points to be scored from 53 minutes in the second half. 2 tries in the space of 2 minutes at the end. Terrible. Threw away the bonus point.
They will want to really work on it or else they're going to get slaughtered by better teams. One needs to remember the Jaguares came to JHB on a long flight so the win really flatters the Lions.

Para el olvido este partido, horrible hasta para ver! Regalamos creo q 8 puntos de conversion, Landajo y Cancelliere flojos, Ezcurra no lo vi en todo el partido y a Bofelli lo mandaron a la cama en 20 minutos, el arbitro no determino el resultado pero fue pésimo!
