The DHL Stormers topped the Vodacom Super Rugby log in 2012, losing only two games for their best season to date. One of those defeats was in Rd 14 to the Cell C Sharks, who returned to Cape Town from a quarter-final win in Brisbane for just the second all-SA semi-final.
