Justin, my 67-year-old Dad and I love your videos! ❤ They give us an opportunity to bond over his childhood road trips and the ones he recreated with my sister and I when we were young. We made many stops at Wall Drug growing up and seeing it in one of your videos is so surreal!

This borught back memories to when i was younger! My parents and I took a road trip all the way from Ohio to Idaho. We stopped at Wall Drug on our way from the Badlands to the Black Hills, and I think its one of the biggest cuplrets for the begining of my love for all things kitchy, and my love for silly little road side/tourist attractions! In fact at Wall Drug, I bought a little fluffy jackalope (that was made to look like a realistic stuffed jack rabbit - but with the iconic jackalope antlers) and I still have it to this day on a display of honor in my living room.
That trip as a whole is what really sparked my love for road tripping! I hope to one day go to as many places and see as many amazing things as you have the oppertunity to! (that dream may soon be a reality, as I am saving up money to buy an rv!) Thanks for these videos!

I worked there for one summer during college, think the only thing that was worth working there was the nearby attraction areas like Deadwood, Custer State Park, Bear Country, etc. That and I made friends who were on an exchange program from Macedonia. I worked as a floater/gopher primarily. And yes, the times I worked in the backyard that dinosaur was unbelievably loud. The fudge is to die for, as are the donuts. I had a mixed experience working there; I mean it's retail first off, and you're dealing with a plethora of different people, but the coworkers and the general area of the Badlands and Black Hills made it tolerable. All that being said, I'm glad you enjoyed your time! I can't believe you were in my neck of the woods of the Dakotas! It's been forever since a video of yours came on the home page for me, I'm glad it was this one. Happy to see you enjoying everything we have to offer here!

As someone originally from nearby Rapid City but moved away for more populated parts of the country, it's always nice to see some familiar locations from back home get the recognition it deserves. Fun fact, when Red Dead Redemption 2 came out, I immediately had flashbacks to visiting Wall Drug just by the sound the boots made on the floors inside stores.

Ah yes, Wall Drug. First with my folks, then with my wife I've been visiting here everytime we come to the Black Hills since 1957. Just a single store back then now it takes up a whole block. We like to stop for breakfast or failing that, lunch where I can get a buffalo burger. Stopping at Wall Drug is mandatory with our family.

We have an abundance of those prairie dogs living here in one of our parks in Lawton, OK. They also have an area out in our Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, which is located right next to Lawton and Fort Sill Army Post. They are fenced off with that wooden fence like they have there. They aren't as docile here in town as those ones are, though.

Prairie dogs are a keystone species. Their population loss, largely due to humans, has contributed to suffering of other species and also to many of the water problems now facing the southwestern US. They need to be protected!

I moved to Washington state from Massachusetts in 2002 driving I-90 practically the entire way. Part of that drive took me through South Dakota. The 'signs' for Wall Drug start before the state line with Minnesota and once you drive into S.D. they appear every 5-10 miles. 'Be Sure to Stop at Wall Drug, Wall, South Dakota. Admittedly the lure of free ice water proved to be a strong motivator considering the temperature was in the 90's that day.

Summer 1983. Three friends take a cross country trip in a reconditioned VW pick up. We took the Southern route heading out from CA to the East coast. Coming back, we went more northerly. Having stopped at the Bad Lands, and seeing all the signs yelling at us to stop there, we, too, went to Wall Drug. That place is still etched in my mind for its feeling of high weirdness. The original drug store had, of course, taken over other nearby stores as it expanded; not all of the stores had the same floor, so I remember places where suddenly the floor rose up an inch or down the same amount. The place was really strange, but we got our obligatory cup of water. I also picked up a Lakotah-English dictionary there.
