The kit itself has issues. I would wait until they fix the issues. The kit in the video does sound great and much better than if he used the module sounds. He is definitely using a vst to trigger sounds.

Wow! Massive points to Alesis for getting El Estepario Siberiano to demo the new Strata kit. I've been an e-kit drummer for over 20 years and have been considering an upgrade. I liked the looks of the Strike Pro SE, but wasn't totally sold. I'll be curious to test the hi hats on this kit for myself, but watching El Estepario play them gives me a level of confidence. That dude is a beast!
This is called marketing - my friend, lol. You bet Estepario would play a Roland or Alesis if the right amount is offered. You can find videos of Eloy Casagrande playing Yamahah electric kits... you bet money talks hahaha. I'm also an electronic drums player and the hats are always the thoughest bit to emulate- I do have Roland's 14" digital hihats and from what I've seen out there in terms of reviews, it doesn't get much better than that - they do work great. A friend of mine has an Alesis Strike and he doesn't really complain about his hihats, so I would assume these ones would do the trick.
@@fabiodias5527they are, in my opinion, the best hats available. I hate to say this on an alesis video (that I really enjoyed) but the strike hats aren't the one.

He is shown playing the new Alesis kit, but the sounds are not from the module but from a VST.
@@fabiodias5527 To be fair, he just didnt do an ad for these guys. He has been "beta testing" the kit for months and sending them feedback, and this is the end result.
Damn Roland has some real competition now. And as usual this guy crushes it in this badass demo.
This is not really competition for Roland or any other top e-kit companies. The module is great, but the kit itself has some issues. Hopefully, with updates and module data fixes, the kit will be better. I would wait for an upgraded fixed version of this kit to come out before I would consider buying an Alesis drum set.

Do not buy this kit. If you watch enough review videos, you will realize the kit is flawed. Hopefully, with updates and data fixes, the kit will be better. I think the next kit or the one after that Alesis comes out with to improve this kit may be worth considering. For about the same money I think there are better brand e-kits. The one thing I will say is that Alesis did step up their game with this kit. I just do not feel Alesis is at the professional e-kit level yet, but they are not there yet.

these things are slick. i've noticed in two videos now that cymbal swells (a continuous single-stroke roll increasing in intensity) are the ONLY issue, and it's that they are acting like they being re-struck like an accent strike, over and over. the sound has too much attack. a way to fix that might be to basically eliminate the attack on gentle strikes (i'm assuming these babies are velocity sensitive lol), and then have the sound module recognize the combination of repetitive strikes coupled with in increase in velocity so in the event that someone is doing a cymbal swell the attack STAYS OFF until "X" (which could be anything ranging from a percentage increase in velocity -vsay a 20% jump in velocity during a cymbal swell, making it so you can swell up and give it one good crack at the end that will present the attack again, or the attack could be triggered on again by a kick drum or something, and... AND, you can just not retrigger the attack at all, thereby allowing the player to taper the sound off or "fade it out" in the same way one does with a real cymbal.
i hope big time i'm not coming off as overly critical. acoustic instruments are deeply dynamic things, and it's just super obvious that an immense amount of work goes into designing these electronic 'traptions so they mimic that of "real" kits, and i think they're amazing. i'm basically just giving an idea away due to my being a drummer of 29 years and a hobbyist sound designer/producer of 24. i think this kit - and of course the one and only EES (and his friend Javi!) - is insanely cool.
This will be my ekit this year as my gigs ramp up. What a way to keep a natural feel and get a great stage mix without blowing up the volume in a lot of venues.
I am sure we can add extra cymbals and a pad also.
The kit is flawed, as many reviewers have pointed out. I would not use this kit professionally on stage.

It will be 4omths before I would look at one. I have a 6 year old Dm10k11 pro. It has held up toy abuse and traveling pretty well. I have 3 acoustic sets. Thank you again.

The Roland Vdrum Pro 10 kit premiered at the winter NAMM show in 1997… and this is an advancement (I guess)… but until I can close my eyes, listen, and hear no clues (cues) that an emulated acoustic kit is what I'm hearing… then these products while perfectly appropriate for a number of applications, namely where control of stage volume takes priority over realism: cover-bands at small venues like bars & restaurants that want to 'match' the drum sound to the original artist on each tune, churches, casinos/cruise ships, etc. … they're just not a good replacement for acoustic drums & cymbals in music when that's what you want to hear.
Linux system, BFD sound, and fkng crazy drummer??? Im into it, give me 2 drums!

I wouldn't get this kit as it has some issues. Alesis is stepping up their game, but as an experienced drummer, I would not buy an Alesis kit, at least not until they come out with a kit that is not flawed and could be used more professionally and not just to practice on.
those drums sound good and the sensors catch everything from small notes to hard and a lot of notes fast without sounding robotic....... very real, very natural. Well done Alesis. Thumbs up for el estepario and the guitarist

I really like how responsive the cymbals sound. I was surprised how clear the grabs were.
Currently sitting in the ER cause my ass tripped trying to get to my phone to see who made this kickass tune now I think my arm maybe broken but it was worth it this song is freaking killer letting it play over and over while sucking on that green whistle equals a good vibe update to come later

very great sound..- dear gentlemen--I had bought an m-audio mkIII controler
fill out forms...I just got the Alesis Q88 MKII controller...Because I was convinced that the installation was as straightforward as it is with the Q 25... But I see that it doesn't sound..And it is necessary to waste time registering.Maybe you don't know that not all of us have a fast web connection....Anyway.I registered the product on your site...But everything is blocked because you force us downloading all those programs...After 3 hours..I still can't use my controllers....Let me tell you something "This way of doing things is not smart"...Now could you please tell me How should I proceed to use my controller..? I can't understand what I have to do...The indication in your manual is useless..Because it refers to the peripherals menu of my music program...But in my Cubase there is a list of controllers and synthesizers. very partial.. and the Q88 is not present... But then, why does the alesis Q25 work directly... and the Q 88 doesn't ?
Kudos on knocking the shit out of the drums. However, I would argue that a true.e-kit must be able to handle subtle hi-hat touches and light strokes throughout the drums from the snare, cymbals and the toms.
At that price I don't want pads and plastic clamps. I expect real acoustic sized shells and metal hardware. Hopefully you will consider selling the module separately. Would sell like hot cakes until other brands fire back.

Great performance. Too bad the EXTREMELY JARRING AND FREQUENT camera changes prevent me from seeing anything that is going on, or appreciating what EES is even doing behind the kit. Yay EES! Booo AlesisVideo.

We got the kit. Everything is more even in the room, now, and the drummer's backing vocals are clearer and more even. (A lot of drummers sing and headset mics get murdered with the cymbals and snare.) Plus, we now run digital amps and in-ear monitors, so we can play more venues, clubs and events. More opportunity equals more money equals more gear and more sandwiches.

That editing was godawful and clearly driven with product focused and not artist but the groove and the playing was tight.
Tell your marketing team that when Estepario is playing a fill, that is not the time for a static, close up, slow motion shot of a drum that's not even being played.
Like I can hear the conversation "Oh, cut in there, you can get a really nice shot of the logo without his hands in the way." No. Stop it. We are here to watch the drummer, not the drums. Your drums will get all the kudos and brand recognition you want without shoving it right in people's faces.
This kit sounds way better than I thought it would. I love that Alesis is finally making a serious contender kit. I play a first gen 2Box and and looking to upgrade soon. This might be an option.
