@@PeterSkaOi It's an easy fix though. It's the ribbon that's causing the scratches, as when the laser moves, the ribbon pushes upwards and touches the disc.

I never had a ps2 growing up I started with a ps3 a few years ago and then I got a ps2 after that but the graphics aren’t the greatest even with an hdmi adapter. It’s like taking a step backwards from the ps3. The original Xbox has better graphics than the ps2 so get games on that console if you have a choice.
What you're talking about with the right stick is called inverted aiming which was pretty common back in those days from all systems but in some games I would look into the controls settings as you can change them
Component cables are the best but remember, not all newer TV's have component inputs. You can get an HDMI adapter for PS2 too. I have and it works great.
The ps2 red, yellow and white cables (composite cables) output at 480i (interlaced) The PS2 component cables DONT output at 720p,(thats high definition which came out after the PS2/GC/OG Xbox era) they output at 480p (progressive scan)
@@GH0STRIDEZ Well... I have probably collected a lot longer than you xD... Plus it's a nice mixture of rare games, dumb games and games I was just nostalgic for and still love playing.
I got a ps2 and og xbox 2017 and fell in love with 6th gen gaming. Having opl manager for the ps2 is a must if you want to experience titles that can't be bought at a affordable price. I currently don't really play much of ps2 games or use the ps2 to play ps2 games. Even with component cable I didn't like the resolution of 480i. I use my pc, steamdeck or ayn odin for ps2 emulation.
Great video! Awesome collection! What i can recommend: Need for Speed Underground 1 and 2, and the mighty Jak 3. The trilogy is my favourite of all time and if you like the second game, you will love the third one. There is also a racing game called Jak X and a "spin-off" called Jak and Daxter The lost Frontier. It wasnt as good as the originals, but still good. And for your psp i recommend the game Daxter. But its up to you :) I love your enthusiasm. Big shout out from Germany.
Some great classics on the PS2. I too got into it late, being a Dreamcast and Xbox guy first. There are some cool RPGs and light gun games on the PS2 that you can't play on any other systems..
Component cables are better than composite but if you want to go the extra mile - SCART/RGB with a CRT tv looks incredible. Most US tv’s don’t have RGB input though so you have to either mod it or track down a PVM/BVM TV set
Yo! Big retro console fan here. The yellow video cable is composite and does up to 480i. The i is for interlaced, meaning it draws 480 lines per frame, but it’s 240 for half the frame and another 240 every other line for the next half of the frame. Component cables (the red green and blue) can support 480p; the p is for progressive, meaning that the 480 lines are all drawn on a single frame at the same time rather than alternating. Most ps2 games don’t support 480p, but the image quality will still be better. Like another commenter said, your TV probably does a bad job scaling and adds lag! I would recommend a good scaler like the retrotink or if you can solder I’d watch Voultar’s tutorial on making yourself a GBS Control! Enjoy man!
UYA is the third Ratchet game and like you mentioned with the Jak series the first plays different from the sequels. If you haven't gotten too far I'd recommend getting the first one and playing them in order. All games pretty much follow the same setup of saving the galaxy from the bad guy but the first one is where Ratchet and Clank meet. The stories are separate enough that they still make sense played out of order but it's great playing them in order. Ratchet & Clank is the first, Going Commando is second, Up Your Arsenal is third, then the fourth game is a spinoff Ratchet Deadlocked. There's a fifth game Size Matters which the PSP version is better as well as another spinoff Secret Agent Clank which is better on PSP as well. Damn this was a long ass comment
Hahah I appreciate the information! It's honestly hard to tell which comes first. I also have Size Matters on the PSP and really enjoy it (there's first person in that game too!) Though I heard it wasn't as good on ps2, as many PSP ports aren't...
Cool getting used to a console never experienced. The Slim is fine but it's not always the best for some games to be read. Modem built in is fair/whatever the case of not hard drive but still. Will say I think the disk tray is better on slim than the Phat with the band being worn. It's called inversion it's a setting in games to invert the stick usually a camera control setting doesn't affect games where the right stick is for combat like I think the Bouncer or some others do I forget the name of the one I'm thinking or dodging like God of War (Knack does on PS4 but it's a Good of War of old entries like anyway so not surprised) not oh the stick does such it's a camera control setting. It's very easy to change it's a thing in any console games any sixth gen, any current gen. It's nothing unsurprising. Component cables yes a higher resolution due to the additional cables for video quality but the Composite isn't that bad. Obviously even HDMI modding or a converter is better but still never bothered with Component cables other than PSP TV support myself. Fine with Composite. The PS1 congroller id fine but yeah the PS1 dual shock/analogue or PS2 dual shock controllers work fine for analogue or digital pad compatible games which for PS1 is great. Never frlt a need to bother with PS1 analogue capable controllers. Other than PS Classic yeah ghe Digital pad is fine, smaller yes but still fine enough feel. Memory cards are specific yes due to the size/whatever data on the cards or encryption I assume. Never understood the point of collectors editions on PS1. is it the same or different than Greatest Hits or Platinum versions? Or the ones rhat just came aith a collector's edition bundle. Few goods in there. GT4 is so fun a lor content and whatever choice..GT2/3/4 are good enteies. 1 is fine but less content and. Bit rough I think 1&2 are similar but 2 is just better. 5&6 are fine too just not as exciting sometimes. Spinoffs are good but of course more novelty games fans care for like 2002 Concept, the prologues, Tourist Trophy the bike approach to GT4. Daek Cloud is a fine building/dungeon crawler or JEPG. I tried the demo on a demo disk irs fine. Seems like a typical Level 5 RPG. Hobbit game is pretty alright awkward stealth and design of controls/level design but its still pretty good. Pac-Man World 2 is fun. PSP/PS2 games makes it kind of fair to go either way for the PS2 ports of contrnt or controls whichever is suitable and whatever of price. Or some are kind of identical.
