Rossano………….piano virtuosity coupled with sartorial tastefulness. What a combination. Love the improvisation you did on the second chorus. I will take a stab a transcribing it to play on clarinet. Thank you! So nice to listen and learn. I’m an old dog (75) learning new tricks. As Churchill said……’Never give up. Never, never give up’.
So beautiful voicings, the g flat diminished with the doubled melody note an octave lower (right hand), and then doubled melody note (c) again in the g minor 7, and then b9 (d flat) and b5 (g flat) in C7!
amazing! I could recognize the Barry Harris diminshed scale moves you did during the piece and it was really helpfull that you explained it in the end! Thanks 🙏
Hey Rossano, I've watched quite a few videos of you tonight. I was especially impressed with your association with Geoff Gallante, which seems to go back quite a few years. In one of the comment sections a person remarked that Geoff played piano as well, and sure enough there was a video of Geoff playing "Christmas Time is Here" from what looked to be a 3 page lead sheet. His Harmonic conception was remarkable and I just wondered what sort of things he might have picked up from you, what sort of things he might have asked you about and what you might have shown him. Thanks, Jack
