I read Paz’s book discussed in 1989 whiled at UCLA. As a Chicana I was incensed at his perceived notions of Mexican women. During this time I worked in East LA and thought his ideas of the pachuco were uninformed about these men who were born in USA. I really appreciate the Guest speakers, and I learned a lot during this dialogue.
