Funny how you mentioned David Foster, because he watched Sohyang perform a cover of "I Haver Nothing" and invited her to his concert in Japan Blue note concert in 2018.
He invited her to be his Featured Female Vocalist for his concert.
Basically EVERY one of her performances are amazing! My absolute favorite one is Arirang Alone, however I think her most technical performance is Everyone!!!

SoHyang arranged all her songs by herself she teaches at an university propabely in music; She is called the Mariah Carey of Korea !
"I haven nothing" sang higher than Whitney , "Lean on me" sang in the presence of M. Bolton and impressed by her he invited her to sing with him at his concert in Korea. She is a cancer-survivor and in her forties and also she writes Fantsy stories !
I personally don't like it when she is called "Mariah Carey of Korea". If, in my opinion, she pursued fame and money like others, she'd been on top of the world by now... I respect her decision, but sometimes I feel bad about her not getting enough recognition.

Thank you for your reactions, review & analysts for “SoHyang” performance. IMPO SoHyang is one of the most gifted singer alive. She is not famous like others just because she is not after the fame. Even in Korea we seldom see her on TV, because she would normally spend her time singing at churches & passing the God’s wisdoms & love through her singing. Actually few years back, Ms.Oprah Winfrey has strongly recommended for Mr. David Foster(famous music producer worked with Late Whitney Houston, Celine Dion & more) to check out “SoHyang” performances at Utube . He was so impressed that he wanted to work with her. Last December 2018, they have worked together on “David Foster Conscert” with Brian McKnight & more. If you are there witnessing her live performance, standing ovation is what you will do end off her amazingly wonderful performance!

Plz check her "you raise me up' 'lean on me' and 'Arirang along' from the same tv show, and the go to 'EVERYONE'. She is a great singer not only with such a high note and perfect skill, but also with her ways to deliver her emotions. She always takes all the audience to her own place.
You have to react to Everyone with subtitles it's important the lyrics is important and she even talk to the public in the middle of the song

For vocal techniques overall, She is one of the best of all time.Her mix voice especially balance mix, belting, transition, breath control all of this is world class. (Bb5 with mix is her favorite note, still reach A6 with supporting head voice)

Many people suggested her arrangement of "I Have Nothing". She performed her new arrangement of "I Will Always Love You" on Korean TV this past weekend (Begin Again Korea) and it is amazing (she has performed it before but on programs like Open Concert where she does not have control of the production). But "Everyone" is her most astonishing performance and she has dozens of jaw-dropping performances across many musical styles and genres.
Glad you made your acquaintance with Sohyang. She started out as a gospel singer more than 20 years ago and has really made her mark with her singing in this world. Like the person who recommended this performance to you, this stage is also my all-time favorite from Sohyang (and others for that matter), in spite of many equally fantastic performances by her. This happened to be the first video I saw from her. The emotional connection it created was unbeknownst to me until I heard her. All the great vocal techniques in her repertoire are meant to create this memorable experience. It was almost spiritual to me.
Your remark of being intimate hits home for me. Sohyang's singing, not just here, feels intimate and personal. It is a dialog more than a performance for the audience. And I am happy to offer my testimony on that :-)

SoHyang has a new video = "Never Enough" she sits in a huge fauteuil= a moaisik chussend chair in a white dress and then you she her in a black dress and also in a blue dress and the 3 SoHyang sing together! She also sees younger than her 44 years ! Each time i saw her she sees younger then before ! You must also listen when she sang; "Amzing Grace" ! Amazing of this world !

So hyang herself is responsible for the arrangements of all the songs she performs.she is much more than just an amazing vocalist,she is so talented & her sense of musicality is out of this world. She can sing any genre, rock,pop,jazz,traditional, & of course the ballads & was even heard rapping one particular TV performance, but she is a gospel singer at heart & you can often hear that gospel influence,through her arrangements, in songs that you wouldn't normally associate with that genre.
She is the 👍 among 👍s in the world !
Keep going through her catalog and you'll see that while the belting here is impressive it's not close to her best performance.
Hint: You are going to be hearing mixed voice notes you have never heard before as well as register transitions so perfect it appears she has no bridges. Oh, and she's also one of the best performers on the planet. Have fun!
The arrangements on everything you see from her are HER arrangements. She has a background in Gospel, Blues, and Pop. You need to react to "You Raise Me Up" next. Or "I have Nothing" (from the Legends series).

SoHyang does all of her own arrangements. She NEVER sings a song as it was written, or the same as someone else sang it. She makes them all HER sings.

She said that She always want to sing a song to heal and comfort wounded many peoples mentally, physically. She looks like an angel. I'm not a cristian but truly believe her. [Recommended] Among Korean singers, "BTS. Black fink" and K-Pop are not the only young singers. There are so many singers with good vocal skills such as "Sohyang. Forestella. Park kiyiung, Ha hyunwoo".
