    Thanks for sharing your life experiences, and how you are handling the situation about your chronic illness. It might be difficult. About 5 years ago I was diagnosed with CKD, and it hasn't been easy for me. Thanks Karen and Ann for sharing your stories, and congrats for the more than 1K subscribers.

    Hola amiga... so, I've been following you over a year. I remember seeing you on Amoya's channel and wanted to know how you were traveling a single parent bc it has its challenges. Glad you are still doing it bc I love watching your adventures and still hope we run into each other soon.

    I LOVE your videos!! and it's content like yours that have encouraged me to finally take the leap to travel full time as a single mother with 2 young kids. After 5 years of doubting myself, I'm FINALLY taking the leap next month!! 🎉🎉
    You are making a massive impact in ways you may not even know!! And those negative commenters are speaking out their own shadow and the darkness they are experiencing in their own inner world ; so basically, projecting! Don't let it in!! If you can help it. I wouldn't take advice about my health from a mechanic, so why would I listen to opinions from someone that feels so disempowered in their own lives that they are triggered by a complete stranger being empowered in her own life!!😂
    Keep shinning Karen!! You're making a difference!! ❤

    Great video.👍 I don't know why; I feel they should post more closer to the day they filmed than wait a couple of weeks. I hate when they post a video about being somewhere and then on other social media their somewhere else and mention " new video coming up" like really lol /.-

    • @MomonaJourney
      @MomonaJourney  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! ☺️ …as I mentioned in the video, it’s for first for safety, but also because editing takes a while, and because sometimes there’s no wifi ( I had no wifi in Guatemala for a few weeks)… and also there’s a lot of living to be done. I would have to live in a bubble to publish in real time… and still wouldn’t for the safety of “me”, a single mom living with two teenage daughters ALONE in Mexico or anywhere else we travel to.

    I'm a bit confused... havent we already seen that 1000 subscribers plaque that Ann made you before?
    you talked about some people not wanting to be filmed or have their photos taken... when I was there I found that all the native people seem to be trained to hide their faces if they see you taking their photo. even the younger kids if you find them on their own. I had one interaction with 3 pre-teen girls that I saw sitting in the doorway of a building. they noticed me stopping to take their photo and they all turned their faces away and one of them gave me the middle finger over her head. I waited until she turned around to look if I was still there and stuck my tongue out at her. I actually found the interaction kind of cute and funny. I still got a good photo out of it and walked away with a smile. had several other interactions like that over the next few days with some of the older ladies too. so I just found that I needed to be less intrusive to get some candid shots.
    I have to say, you are brave to wear those "highrise" boots on the sidewalks there. I found the sidewalks quite exhausting... so narrow so that you were constantly having to step aside or step off them to let other people pass by. and then there was all the unevenness of them with the sloped ramps for garages. and then on top of that they are so worn that they are polished smooth in many places and are slippery. we almost slipped and fell so many times but never actually landed on our asses.
    I have the utmost respect for anyone that produces video content. the amount of effort that it involves to record constantly, plan shots, stop to execute certain ideas... its just beyond exhausting. having a smaller camera or just using a phone makes it a bit easier, but still! I stick to taking photos... and I take a lot... I think around 2500 on my trip there over 10 days... but then sometimes you miss stuff because the camera isnt on or you dont have the right settings... and even that makes it hard to be in the moment. I used to do videos of car racing for my own business for 6 years. I would get 3-4 hours of content each night (2-3 nights a week). then as soon as I got home I would upload it all to my computer, edit it and get all the files named and in order. I had some of the racers as customers who wanted to see the videos of their races the same night so I would pick those ones out and upload them to youtube as "unlisted" videos, send out the links and then I would go to sleep. in the morning I had to create a dvd with all the videos which could take 2-3 hours to edit, make graphics and render and then I had to make multiple copies to sell. I had a machine that looked like a computer tower where you would put the master copy dvd in the top slot and then you could make 3 copies at a time. the amount of time it all took was massive - between the filming through to making the dvd copies was probably close to 12 hours. I have done a lot of editing for "highlights" videos before and I remember when I first tried to do that it was so challenging. video editing is an artform for sure! and you certainly have a knack for that! you are a great story teller and a video like this where you show how you do it is actually the most complex of all...

      In some areas of Chiapas, like Chamula, you can get really hurt for taking pictures of people… some cities are autonomous and handle things as they choose. Please, be careful.
