Seeing examples of flamboyant gamine that aren’t rail thin and your point about the “inverted triangle” thing for soft gamine really helped me pick between the two!!
OMGOSH. I've taken the full 'kibbe test' like 10 different times and after awhile I just ended up getting more confused LOL. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I LEGIT can determine my overall Style ID with true confidence and feel GOOD about it!! THANK YOU!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I don’t believe there are height limits on the types except for SN, R, TR, and any Gamine. This must be under a certain height but you could be a short Dramatic if you have extreme elongation and sharpness.
Hands down the best Kibbe test video I've watched. The variety of body sizes you showed for each type was so so appreciated. I pretty quickly narrowed in on my type after your elimination test, thank you!
Love the examples of Plus Size women! I am a curvy size 16 @ 5’7” - wide shoulders and hands - very thick legs (even when I was much thinner) so most videos have been confusing. Also love your simple approach.
The way you defined some of the features was so enlightening for me!! I finally understand broadness esp re: shoulders now. Thank you for these breakdowns!
Octavia spencer is a kibbe-verified soft gamine not romantic!! And soft types can be bustless, as long as they do have some sort of lower curve, take for example Chloe Sevigny** a verified soft natural, just as dramatics can have pronounced conventional curves (see Sheryl Lee Ralph). Forgot to add, but tall types (dramatic family and flamboyant natural) don't have a lower height limit, only short types are limited by height
Thank you so much for this video. You described it in a way where I finally have a better understanding of what kibbe type I might be. Definitely looking forward to having fun with this.
Just wanted to add that dramatic classic shoulders can be a little bit wider than their hips sometimes but, they doesn't have the width nor, the elongation that flamboyant natural have .
At first I was very confused, the only thing I new was that I was not dramatic, gamine or romantic. Now I think I am a soft natural but with the facial features of a pure natural...
I took the "written" and I had about even amount of Romantic and Classic. However, based on your visuals and descriptions, I'm leaning more towards Classic! Thank you for this perspective!
I’m still pretty confused because almost everything applies to flamboyant gamine for me except the fact my hips are my widest point. I’ve always carried my weight lower and my bust doesn’t change much even when I put on weight.
Great inclusivity, just one point, soft dramatics often have wide shoulders, it's just that the sleeve seam is not wide and their 'torso frame' is not wide.
Im very petite and not curvy enough to be a romantic I have no angularity in my bones But I dont have those cliches like having big eyes or having small nose etc
@@RoseColoredGlasses Being 4'11 tall confused me about being a classic type. But yeah it makes sense when ı think about not fitting any of the categories
I always thought I was a soft natural, but I don’t have a large bust, but everything else fits and wrap dresses and things like that also look great on me, so isn’t there a chance that there is a soft natural without great curves?
Stella, you definitely might be a SN. Plenty of SN ladies have small chests (myself included!). (Look at Britney Spears, she’s got a small chest and small straight hips. Julianne Hough also has a small chest and straight hips. Shakira and Jennifer Lopez also have small chests.)
Still confused between soft gamine and romantic. I am confused...Did you say that soft gamines are or are NOT tirangle shapes? I have curves, and am under 5'2". My silhouette is not a "neat" hourglass, because I have softness all over, I have very large breasts, small shoulders, wide hips, a larger, rounded bottom, and a "wide" waistline, but it is still much smaller than my hips, by at least 10 inches. So I am either soft gamine or romantic...
OK, so it's the third video with different exemples, different sized models and different techniques to test it so it seems I'm a soft classic. I'm average... Again XD
Thank you! Ive been struggling between soft classic and soft natural but im not a classic with your test. But, Know Im wondering...is I should consider soft gamine or not...or romantic? 5'2 1/2 Large shoulders (41 inche Large bust (37 inches) Waist (28.5 inches) Hips( 39 inches) Irregular nose, somehow full lips, narrow eyes, silky hair, small and narrow feets and hands). What do you think?
You sound like a SG with a SN essence or even a SN face. You might even have TR face. Look at both of your parents carefully (or even your aunts/uncles). My mom is mostly SN and some Gamine mix on her side and my father is mostly Gamine and Soft Gamine on his side. I’m a mix of the 2.
I've been having trouble figuring out if I'm SD or SN, I'm 6'1 with round shoulders and hips, both about the same width no matter my weight, and my waist is smaller than both. I keep seeing SD should be, but I'm not sure.
I m 5”5. Other parts of my body are curvy especially hips and thighs but my bust is not big. I am slightly tall looking. My shoulders are not that wide visibly but my hip line is quite wide. Am I a theatrical romantic or soft dramatic?
Help! I was typed as FN. Though I am 5'5" I have wide shoulders and a big bust, but tiny hips/butt very long arms and legs. Folks always think I am taller. So by your typeing I am a soft gamine!?! Is that right? Cuz I cant really find large busted FN's. Thank you
@@lindaterzich6632 so something I haven’t talked about is David Kibbe changed some the rules for gamine 😬 so old if width even is considered SG anymore.... not sure what to do about that though.
What if you upper body is dramatic and your lower body is classic? Tall wasted...bony upper body...no body fat upper body...no breast... short legs...round bum...fat on thighs?
Soft natural has some bluntness, for me I have broad shoulders and a wide face. Not round- wide and muscly. My body is also more of an inverted triangle with curves. Romantics will be petite- soft naturals may feel like their bones are wide.
@@RoseColoredGlasses Thank you for replying and helping me. Is it possible for there to be a type in between both a SN and a R? Or is it fine to dress in both the style/lines of a R and SN seeing as they're both along the yin gradient? I feel like I have characteristics of both.
I really like how you show women of all sizes and ethnicities. And the elimination test worked great!

watched it twice

Except there's no minimum height for Kibbe types. Tall women can't be Gamines or Romantics but short women can be Soft Naturals or Soft Dramatics.
Just wanted to add that dramatic classic shoulders can be a little bit wider than their hips sometimes but, they doesn't have the width nor, the elongation that flamboyant natural have .
I’m obsessed with this!!! I love itttt ❤️❤️❤️ I am most definitely soft natural
Finally, some actual plus size visual representations of the types! Thank you so much! ❤

Love this approach. With this i was able to see that i am a classic, most likely dramatic classic.
Great inclusivity, just one point, soft dramatics often have wide shoulders, it's just that the sleeve seam is not wide and their 'torso frame' is not wide.

Thanks lol

As a FN with a large bust, this wouldn't work for me.
I am confused. What were the guidelines for FG? I heard soft gamine but what applies to FG? I am curious if they can have wider shoulders as well
I think they can have some width and broader shoulders. To me gamines and naturals are similar where they have some boxiness and square faces.

What does a lush bust line mean? Like are you talking cup sizes? (For romantic)
