Automated Kumihimo Braiding Machine

Here is a brief explanation of the machine I created to make Kumihimo braids! I am super excited about the result and even more excited to add on to what I have already done! I included some music I recorded in the background to make the video a little more interesting. Let me know what you think!

oh I like this! hint: there are steppermotors out there with Hollow Shafts maybe a nice Option for the Rotation...

hey! thanks for checking it out! i believe it is possible. the toughest part to get around is avoiding tangling of the strings. i have tried a basic sageo (if i’m remembering right) and, as the braid formed, the distance the string traveled changed slightly causing the machine to place a few in the wrong slot. it is definitely possible to fix this issue but i didn’t have enough time to work on it any longer. anyway, short answer: yes but will take some engineering/adjustments.
