Worked great for me. When you inspect the box it'll take you to a at the most nested part. For me, there was nothing to delete. I right-clicked on the and edited as HTML and pasted my code just past the . Once I clicked away my signature worked and I was able to save it. The only thing different was that my links and information formatted a little weird so I went back into the code and found where to add some padding and changed it from 0 to 5 and it looks great.
Edit: Trying to update my signature now and I can still Edit As HTML but those changes don't seem to be saved for me. Very frustrating
you are not clear in this video, what did you select after clicking on "inspect element" ,
You say "delete what is in here" but you dont say WHERE or WHAT I should delete.
I wish I could show you how it worked with me, but I'll try to explain .. When you add a name to you email signature, keep it empty and click inspect from exact spot, it would take you to the code line that says "div..." press down arrow 🔽 until you are on the " -- $0" right click on it and choose Edit Html then select all line " -- $0" and paste YOUR HTML CODE then close it, it will appear in signature box, You must click on it and choose (small) then save all changes , and hopefully it'll work out with same as me
The signature does not save. As soon as you reopen its disappeared?
Easy-peasy, thx mate!
Thanks for commenting!
NOT CLEAR
THANK YOU IT WORKED! so same when you finish pasting the code do ctrl + x then ctrl + v .
why?
It worked! Thanks
It works! Thank you!
Bro wtf I don’t even understand what you deleted.
He didnt delete anything, just follow what he did in the video but add this after:
after pasting the code, you close the inspect tab. you should see the signature in the editor but do not save it yet. You highlight all text in the editor by clicking ctrl + a and then you cut it by clicking ctrl + x, after that you paste it again by clicking ctrl + v. then save it and send an email to try it.
@@user-vm9ri4se3q WHAT CODE DUDE?
brilliant !!! worked for me !
Thanks for this video! Issue resolved
Thanks a lot. you saved my day!
Very helpful Thank you ❤
Thank you bro
Hello this works but is not saving? How to fix? Thanks
thanks i appreciate.
Thank youuuu sir
Pretty cool hack! That's working Thanks bro
Thanks for making such an informative video. It worked for me. Firstly I was using code in the wrong place but when I carefully noticed things and used the HTML code in right place it worked. We should use the correct HTML code and at the right place between and tags.
Glad you liked it Muhammad!
@@inboxpirates-greatemailtip1297 Thanks!
@@inboxpirates-greatemailtip1297 Bro, it is saving as a signature but when I refresh the settings, it goes away, and near signature settings it says create new. Please help me.
@@pranavbansode14 Same problem bro.... What should I do?
@@avinashlagad9864 What I did is created a signature in the mail application that is available in laptop provided by Microsoft. No problem arises there.
okay that was amazing, but I don't use hubspot and my current signature is longer than the new proposed one. Any ideas?
the best
It works !
This is great but your next video box pops up at an inopportune time and can't be closed. You really can't see the critical step. Frustrating.
nothing clear here. if you do video meant atleast do the process very clear.
where exactly should you click on edit HTML 0:33 !!!
Useless video ! I did exactly step by step what hebtd and the signature doesn't save when you refresh the browser .
I have a signature for my company that I copy/paste from Google Docs into Gmail settings. It used to work but now I'm getting this "too long" message. I need it in Google Docs so our whole organization can access it. Do you have any advice?
Following because I am having the exact same issue. I have used different ones from Google Docs for years... I went to add a new one yesterday and I got the error message. 😥
Same here - anyone manage to find a workaround for this? It's new for me as of 5/15/23 but looks to have been an issue for a few weeks now maybe seeing other posts.
same here... help!
Same issue wht to do
I'm not able to understand where to delete and where to add..pls explain in detail
How do we fix if the signature is not in HTML format and is a manually created one
Even if plain text signature is created, it's converted into HTML before saving in Google's servers under a or tag. It might have formatting of bad players like Grammarly extension. So check using this method or remove the number of characters.
This isn't working for me either
Can you specify how you created your signature or reach out to me at linkedin.com/in/goforbg?
PLEASE I NEED MORE HELP IT SAVED FOR ME BUT IT DID NOT SHOW
nice Vidoe but you don´t show what you do for writing , in the text( @ Minute 0:30 in the Video)???????
My signature populates after doing this but when I click save the settings and go to compose nothing is there or saved
Can you reply with the HTML you're pasting? Gmail does some HTML cleanup before you can save too.
Exact same problem. I'm able to figure out how to do it. Not saving.
How did you get to the "Inspect" button? You need to show users how you did this, it is not intuitive.
God! Can you move the next video in the upper left corner I couldn't see where you added the code
I have a MacBook how do I click on inspect
Guys, listen carefully, after you click inspect, paste your signature code between and , then after pasting this code click ctrl X and ctrl v in the same inspect just after your code. Then go back to your signature editor in gmail setting you will see your signature there and do ctrl A there and then ctrl V. Save the signature
Tried this, and for the signature to save you have to add an extra step:
highlight the signature once you see it in the editor, ctrl + X, then ctrl + v
Hope this helps!
doesnt work
Thanks, this was the trick!
Oh dude! thanks this was the secret sauce
thanks!!
Champion thank you
How did you get "inspect" to come up??
F12 on chrome or right click -> Inspect
@@BharadwajGiridhar Im on a MAC how do i go about finding inspect
Right click -> inspect element
nope, didnt work for me :( do you have any other clever tips?
I accidentally deleted stuff and now my textbox is gone completely
This video is no longer accurate. It's missing many parts. Upon inspection, there's nothing that resembles your steps. It would be helpful to add a new link in the description to a video that's accurate. This video is misleading and not helpful.
you need to do this video over. No one gets what you're doing!
This video is not clear, I'm facing same issue 😢
it's not working anymore
this video is not useful. you did not show what you deleted . Like duhh
He didnt delete anything, just follow what he did in the video but you should add this after:
after pasting the code, you close the inspect tab. you should see the signature in the editor but do not save it yet. You highlight all text in the editor by clicking ctrl + a and then you cut it by clicking ctrl + x. After that, you paste it again in the editor by clicking ctrl + v. then save it and send an email to other gmail address to try it.
@@user-vm9ri4se3q No bro, this does not work either
@@user-vm9ri4se3q What code? I just want to my name and a logo. What code am I pasting and from what?
it's not working. why?😔😔
just follow what he did in the video but add this after:

You highlight all text in the editor by clicking ctrl + a and then you cut it by clicking ctrl + x, after that you paste it again by clicking ctrl + v. then save it and send an email to try it.
@@user-vm9ri4se3qThank you so much, such a simple step but I wondered why it was still not saving. Bloody google trying to be smart with their html boilerplate.
Not working
1. Can you check if the HTML character count is greater than 10,000 words? You can check by pasting the HTML code on wordcounter.net/
2. Please check if the images in the signature are using base64 image urls. Image urls must start with http or https.
3. There are options to add multiple signatures, check if each signature exceeds 10k characters
4. I'd recommend creating one using gimm.io (free, no signup required) that shows whether or not it exceeds 10,000 characters as well.
This was not helpful at all
just follow what he did in the video but add this after:

Ok, if you're watching this as of 1/10/2024 let me clarify some of the unclear instructions
1.) When you click in the code and select edit as HTML there's really nothing to delete. Simply paste your code after the
2.) at the 0:55 mark where you see your signature. You need to select the signature CTRL + A, click the CTRL + X on your keyboard, then CTRL + V, and then scroll down and click save. It should work.
Thanks for this, this video is long overdue and needs an update. To be honest, I didn't think it would reach these many people in the first place and couldn't find the time to edit or re-upload. I get mixed comments everyday, one is about how it helped someone and another is about how it doesn't work. Our software which doesn't deal with email signature is flooded with support tickets related to this video
This video is missing too many relevant element to make it work. This misleading video should be taken down. I wasted an hour trying to follow these steps but they simply do not work and too many steps are missing.
That's not clear. at all !!!! Can you please re-explain better as we don't know where you click when you say 'delete whatever needs to be deleted' and the signature disappear once you click on save....
