I should have guessed. Its hard but good question. PT studied longer & in-depth the human body. They concentrate on the ill health clients so most PTs work in hospitals. Other body therapy such as massage studied less theory and more hands on and mostly (but not all) dealing with healthy clients. There is an overlap between PT and massage. I am teaching 'both world' so my students can treat both.
Thank you so much, teacher. I followed your method for my very painful frozen shoulder today and it's very effective. I could not even move my arm at all this morning. Now I am able to lift up my right arm a lot better. Thank you for your excellent video.
+Susan Ho Great, well done you!
Did you do by yourself?
Yes, I like to answer students and see how all progress in the field of massage.
Wow I love this video for more shoulder mobilization and range of motion !!! Can or is all Physical Therapist trained in this knowledge to use on all patients with bad shoulders or impingement problems I should say ? If so then I got to get my PH on the 15 th of July to do this treatment on my left shoulder !!!
Thank you! you can treat shoulder issues with those techniques. There are other skills you need to learn but those are difficult to teach on youtube
Thank you very much for this video;i'm physiotherapist from CAMEROUN🇨🇲🇨🇲.
The explanation is very benefit
You are most welcome!
Thank you
Great video! Thanks for sharing! Im a pta student and i value quality videos like this one! 2 thumbs up!
Thank you! We always happy to share!
Such a good teacher ! Thank you . I appreciate the video 🙏🙌
You're very welcome!
Pleasure! Now go and help more clients with those techniques.
Depend. some physio I would not give them permission to do any joint mobilization. Some massage therapists are very educated and can perform it really well, safe and effective. The title such as physio or massage really does not tell the person's skill. However, I understand what you are saying and for the most you are right.
I love your videos. Learn alot keep making more ! can you make a video about leg stretching as well
Thank you! We will do more videos soon
Yet, In prone position you can do a swimmer 🏊♂️ stretch though...for the traps. Or for antieror deltoid. . Great video for the "supine " position & w/ head turned also.
You are right. Its important to know how to do stretches in all the positions.
Very good. Excellent instructional video.
Thank you. Its hard to instruct on mobilization, so many details that need to work well together.
Thank you it's vary interesting video. is it possible to do this technic on a
shoulder hyperlaxis ? thanks in adavance
Do you mean a hypermobile shoulder joint? In this case, I would need to be sure you have enough skill to do treat this client. If yes, generally my aim is to relax certain muscles, while strengthening others, but its too complicated to explain here
Hello again! This is a stretch that my local massage therapist utilizes on me at every session we meet. What is a way for me to do this on my own at home or at work?
Thank you for your comment. We are always happy to share our knowledge on TH-cam
Great video sir thanks for sharing Sir
My pleasure
Many thanks. 👍👍👍.
Welcome
this is good knowledge and I would like to add.... if there is a rotator cuff tear, then stretching can make the shoulder worse.
Yes, you are right. You need to find the problem first...
is this tehnique indicated for shoulder dislocation?
?
You have to be careful with shoulder dislocation. I would suggest more strengthening exercise for should dislocation rather than move mobilization. Once the shoulder is dislocated you don't want to increase the movement of the shoulder joint but to STRENGTHEN it.
***** thank you
Best to you!
Habos Babis NO!

In what country Lat Dorsi attaches to scapula?
Flyerviitorul92 in all country. To some of the people. This is not the major attachment but it occurs.
the Lats attaches to humerus ^_^
Flyerviitorul92, a few fibres of lat dorsi may attach to the inferior angle of the scapula as it passes up to attach to the intertubercular groove of the humerus.
There is an association between the scapula and lats as they cross the inferior angle even if there may not be an attachment.
Very helpful. Thank you.
With pleasure

What is a PT? I am in the uk (London) and this term is unfamiliar for me....
Physiotherapy .......
ECCELLENTE
Thank you very much. Always happy to help
PT or DPTeducation, and massage school two differant things. Higher level education, Doctorate, BS, Masters programs vs a certificate.
Is it important? Whats imporatnt is to give a great massage! Thank you
55 secs, scalenes are not attached to the scapula. Good content otherwise. By the way, joint mobilization is not massage.
Ah, sorry! you are right. My mistake. By the way, joint mobilisation IS part of massage. Maybe not part of the Swedish massage, but definitely part of sports massage.
I'm a physiotherapist from Australia and have completed 5 years of practical and theoretical study. Not sure how massage is taught in your country but here they only do 6 months study and are definitely not equipped or within there scope of practice to do mobilisation. What you are showing here is more a passive mobilisation massage not a pure joint mobilisation that physiotherapist do.
It might be joint mobilization or passage mobilization or any other name. What I am interested is if these techniques are effective to the sort of clients that come to massage therapy. it might be not very good for post fracture clients but its a very good technique for clients with shoulder problem presented to massage therapy.
+Jennifer Vickery we train for 18 months to be sport massage therapist in Scotland- practical components (x 25 case studies 3 treatments each thats 25 x 3 == 75 treatments of 1 to 1.5 hours duration approx 75-100 hours, practical exams, written exams, research, homeworks etc) much of my practical work was done under supervision of done with physiotherapist at rugby club - mobilisations limited to Glenohumeral, lumbar roll shoulder and hip traction,
This is not joint mobilisation and even so should not be taught to massage therapists. The techniques shown would further damage a supraspinatus tendon issue and wow a bursa issue 😡 Massage stick to massage
thanks for your comment. Let me not agree with you. Mobilisation can use to increase the range of motion or improve the quality of movement. Here, this mobilization does not increase the range of motion, and this is why most physios don't see the point of it. Increasing the quality of the movement can have a dramatic help to clients, but you are right- not to all. This technique will be great of 99% of clients and might be painful in case of supraspinatus tendinitis. However, in cases of adhesive capsulitis, trapezius myalgia or others, this technique is fantastic. And who said that massage is only the application of superficial gliding? Some countries the scope of massage is a lot wider. In which country are you practising physio?
You are acting as though massage therapists have no kinesthetic intelligence. That is why there is continuing education like this. There are no perfect bodies and sure, if there is inflammation, then more care would need to be taken, or not be moved at all. You guys get so mad. Why use the anger emoji?
I'm a massage therapist and physical therapist. Joint mobilizations are not in a massage therapist scope of practice.
Martha Bejarano thank you, I was going to say the same thing. Osteopaths, chiropractors and PT's only! Check your practice act!
Hmmm, where does it say that?
We are in United Kingdom and part of the basic diploma course is joint mobilisation. this is what we are required to teach!!
In Australia mobilisations is part of the diploma course also.
and OTs !
terrible sir
Interesting... What didn't you like about this movie?
fe serizawa people on this thread are asking if they can do if if torn or dislocated. This is why it is out of scope of practice for LMT. This requires more education than is being shown. The why and why not of mobilizing is as important as the actual technique.
This is irresponsible and how people get hurt
Laura Brown doyuhavmassagplace California
I am in NY.
Yes, on an acute dislocation massage is contra indicated. I these videos I show techniques I am teaching in class, not a plan to treat or not not treat clients.
Thank you ❤
Thank you!
