    The random appearance of Topher Grace is the cherry on top.

      Meaning they weren't air traffic controllers? They were indeed air traffic controllers that had the misfortune of slipping on nuts actually. Please pay attention okay?

      @@Nice_Fella 9/11 WTC attacks happened. As I recall, the show went on a hiatus for a week or two as well, because nobody felt like laughing for a while and the shows first few weeks after coming back were more serious and somber in tone.

    They Might Be Giants fans are more likely to enjoy Slipnutz than the other cool band.

    • @nicholasmoose6574
      @nicholasmoose6574 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As a They Might Be Giants fan I can attest to also enjoying the Slipnutz. They Might be Giants were liked by the type of people in high school who watched Conan. Slipknot on the other hand was liked by people who watched Pro Wrestling.

    • @James-if3kc
      @James-if3kc ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nicholasmoose6574 In the late 90s, I liked both Slipknot and They Might Be Giants, and I watched both Conan and wrestling. You think you can just put everybody into categories and they have to stay in them? You sound very small minded.

    • @nicholasmoose6574
      @nicholasmoose6574 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@James-if3kc No, but I grew up in the 90's too and from my memory the only time pro-wrestling and TMBG mingled was that one episode of Tiny Toons with a wrestling match between 'Triangle Man' and "Universe Man."
      Sometimes people surprise you. The lead singer of Reel Big Fish likes Death Metal.

    • @James-if3kc
      @James-if3kc ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nicholasmoose6574 I used to go in a TMBG chatroom in the late 90s and what I found out then is that TMBG's fans are incredibly pretentious. Same goes for most fans of so-called "smart" bands. They think they're better than people who listen to metal or other types of music. I liked TMBG because they were weird and different. I didn't analyze their songs and write dissertations on their meanings and talk about how they're "commentaries on modern society" or things like that. I liked it because it was weird music. Are people allowed to do that? Are they allowed to like things on the surface level? According to pretentious music fans, they're not. They will mock and ridicule you for not understanding their favorite band. These are the same people who constantly bash the "bullies" who listen to metal, but they are even bigger bullies than them. I used to want to be a smart and pretentious person who listened to "smart" music and watched "deep, complex" shows until I realized it's all completely meaningless and that you should just watch and listen to what you want and what makes you happy. I have no use for those people anymore.

    • @nicholasmoose6574
      @nicholasmoose6574 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@James-if3kc I liked TMBG because they wrote good songs. I like songs. this is why I've been identified as a punker. I"ve always liked punk rock because it didn't matter how good you were at guitar as long as you had good lyrics and a good melody. Discovering the Ramones was like a revelation when I was a kid because I sure as Hell couldn't write songs before that. Then with punk getting big again in the 90's you had bands who get even become huge with three or four chords and a great melody! It was beautiful! Now I'VE been in a band for years!
      But you wanna talk pretentious? let's talk about the time I played my Dead Milkmen CD in a classroom with guys who wore shirts of bands with indecipherable names written on them in calligraphy with pictures of demons eating babies or whatever. Yes, I know "Bitchin' Camaro ' might not have as good of a guitar track as something by King Diamond, but I Don't give a shit. I guarantee you I'll like "BItchin' Camaro" better.

      poisongodmachine3 knowing that someone will inevitably whine about a genre of music is an indication of how boring music fans are.

      Cary Groneveldt Slipknot is pretty fast and employs the double bass but not every song is like that. I would call them just nu Metal. But people that complain about someone getting a genre wrong on a talk show are classified as “speed annoying.”
