I’ve been collecting and restoring first Gen Mustangs for 30 or so years. This Friday I’ll be driving to see my cousins 86 5.0. Convertible. 5 speed car and it’s a 4 eye. All original Red on white. He gave me first right of refusal. It’s in better than fair shape for bone stock. If it works out it would be my first Fox body. Y’all have a good group of enthusiasts I’d enjoy being part of it! Thanks for the channel totally enjoy it

Dam that's gorgeous!!!! Love the 4 eyes, I had a 86 4 eye. Wish I kept it!!!! But at least I found my 92 vert summer edition. Super lucky 1 of 747 with a standard. Love the show Matt!!!

Having a 4 eye 85 GT, and 92 5.0 LX, I prefer the 85 4 eye more, but man this 83 is a sweet, clean, well done

Not a fan of the 83 grill but i had a 86 gt , if i was him id swap a 86gt nose cone on it or! The 82gt nose cone, anything but the 83gt.

Hey Matt man this is one gorgeous 🦊 💯hey I used to be like you about the 4 eyes i didn't like the look of them and now I want one really bad they definitely grew on me especially because of 1s that are coming out looking like Mike's this car is just beautiful and it's got the power and boy does it sound good I love the rowdy cam and that 351 just sounds mean! The Candy Brandy Wine paint is pretty amazing with that silver underneath it flops so much it makes for such a beautiful color I've been waiting for a review on this 1!!! great video love it!!!

Sweet car Dude! I don't drive anymore, but I do speak " Ford", and I've built a few cars myself. I am into the Mustang II'S, specifically the King Cobra, with a 351 Cleveland swap. Also I've owned two 1972 Mach 1s. I've always wanted a Fox body, and I'm trying to learn more about them, thanks for the video. Wes Sept

You asked about the fuel filter. On carb models they bolted to the timing cover just above where the mechanical fuel pump was. on the feul injected cars the pump was in the tank and the filter was in the rear just ahead of the drivers rear tire inboard the subframe.

Nice car. I might add that style hood to my 351w and T5 swapped 85 vert. The factory air cleaner contacts the flat hood and put some dents in it. The 83 scoop would fix that and allow me to put a small spacer under the carb. The car is so much more fun than the CFI 5.0 the car came with.
Oh I bet the carb is so much better. It's also a great looking hood.

What size hood are you running with the 351w, no clearance issues? I want to go with a 2” hood with my 351 but unsure how to check if it will fit.

I've been around a long time I'm 49 years old, but that Wing is intriguing I had no idea it existed especially factory 🤔
It's a very cool wing. I honestly don't know much about 4 eyes.
It is known as a "3 piece." It was first used on the '79 Pace Car [first Fox I ever owned] & then was an option on late '79 Cobras, & standard on '80-'81 Cobra & '82-'84 GT (some places say the '85 smooth style spoiler replaced it in mid-'84) & '79-'82 Capri RS. There was a company that made a one piece copy of it at one point.
I have 2 complete ones in my stockpile. One is going on the '83 Capri I'm building (replacing the "bubbleback" hatch with a Mustang hatch. Basically "backdating whole the back end [hatch, taillights & bumper cover] to '79-'82 style Capri).
@@foxfordcatguy2283 I got you, I' talk to a buddy of mine that's a couple years older than me he's in his mid-50s. He's into the early fox bodies he's got an 86 GT, I've been mostly 87 to 93 mustang myself. I talked to him about that Wing actually sent him the video and he confirmed it.
@@davedave2882 I'm only a year older than you, but I guess I started young. Been into Mustangs as long as I can remember. Fell in love w/ a '68 coupe when I was like 5 [the 1 I currently own is my 4th]. But Foxes are the 1st Mustangs that I remember when they were new. "Studied" (i.e obsessed over) them for years before I was old enough to drive (even the MPC 4 eye model kits I built as a kid had the correct 3 piece spoiler); used to hang out with my dad when he worked part time at a service station & I've been working on cars professionally since the summer before my senior year in HS. I still remember the 1st time I saw an '82 Mustang GLX 5.0 (precursor to the famous LX) when it came in the shop. Wished I could have bought it. (I did buy my '85 GT from a customer.)
I've had more 4 eyes than areos; '79 Pace Car 2.3 Turbo, '82 GT (where I got 1 of the 2 spoilers I have - got the other 1 off another '82 GT I found in a JY), 2 '85 GT's (1 auto & the 5 speed 1 that I still have), '85 3.8 V6 + the '83 Capri project I mentioned (I also tried to save a '79 Capri RS [which also had the 3 piece spoiler] from a scrap yard but they said the state wouldn't release the title AFTER we agreed to the price & I went all the way back with my trailer!?)

When I first bought my '85 GT [see pic] 24 years ago, I was kinda skeptical at first that it was a real GT because it is factory no a/c, no power windows or door locks - doesn't even have rear defrost. But it is a factory 5 speed + last year for carb + first year for roller cam - had to have it, never letting it go).
Im still trying to find someone to paint my mustang

Word of the wise, I would suggest the owner to remove that cheap plastic fuel filter. There's a reason why the filters are in the back by the tank. That filter is a ticking time bomb if it lets go over the header =🔥

gas filter is on backwards flowing the wrong way hopefully it has been caught and replaced.
