Dude! I just want to say thank you so much for your videos! I have tried wet sanding my GMC sierra headlights a few times in the past with very weak results. Mostly what other TH-camrs suggest. Tried your method to a T and DAMN! My headlights look brand new!!! Taking the time to do it right with the right equipment pays off! Only difference for me is that I used a Rupes 3 inch DA for the sanding and polishing. Was worried about the rupes producing too much heat while sanding but it did great. Thanks again!!!!
Great Video. Thanks Could you provide a suggestion on know where I can have my 08 Murcielago headlights restored? they do not have scratches - this model is prone to the inside fogging up. I have seen some on TH-cam restored, but do not know where to go to get them done. THANK YOU Philip
I have the led hlamps on a super clean 18jku,they are clear when off but when on they have the start of looking “dusty”. Any suggestions? Like can I just hand buff with 3m #3??
I bought the aloy foil tape for more expensive paintjobs for extra protection like you advised a while back. Are you.not using that foil tape any more?
Yeah I use it all the time the way this headlight was designed was a minimum risk of hitting those edges as you see those gaps in between all the way around I did an extra tape off of the regular tape maybe about five layers just in case... Also I don't record every vehicle that I do you're only seeing about 1% of what I actually do on the channel if not less....
Question: if we have oxidation on just the upper part of a headlight do we still need to sand polish etc the whole light or can we just the oxidation part?
In my opinion after doing this for several years now that lambs wool is the way to go with the 3 inch pads . The foam ones are ok but for heavy cutting I believe it’s better
That's crazy because typically in doing other services including headlights the wool pads are a lot more gentler more of a finish polish... I used to try to use wool on headlights but it didn't do much far as micro scratch removal or anything like that it would contribute to having scratches and swirls left over in the finished product.. in my experience...
@@theheadlightrestorationpro interesting , didn’t take the fine scratches out . Never noticed . I will try and be mindful of that to see if that’s the case . I tend to get these inexpensive Foam pads on Amazon and they seem smoked after 2 uses . What I didn’t like about foam was that it gets satchurated very quickly and gets floppy because it soaked so much compound . I don’t know if that’s because I am using cheaper foam pads ? What color and firmness do use , if I were to go foam again I would want to use a firmer pad I think. Not the hardest but second to hardest , in my case that was like a orange pad .
@@theheadlightrestorationpro also I went on one of these top Headlight restoration sites and they recommended wool . Perhaps any little micro scratches that are there can be filled in with the clear anyways . I think perhaps a light that still has a tiny bit of scuff and I mean micro may allow the clear to adhere better ?
@Rezparviz I see well that's the issue right there there's a reason why I don't use the cheap pads this is a 3M orange finesse it pad.. this is an amazing quality pad that literally can do probably 50 headlights or more that resurfaces itself and never needs to be cleaned.. it is the perfect medium firm pad for headlights and other things... I urge you to try this pad take scratches out and blemishes out like it's nothing also use it on other aspects of the car like scratch removals and water supply removals all kind of things.....
Major work, great stuff! What's the diff between various polishing compounds? I only watched a couple of your videos, but it seems you use a variety of products and not every job is the same.. ? 💪💪
Done a few headlights after watching your videos and they’ve turned out great. Your technique is the best. One question, can you clean and reuse 3000 trizact pad
10:21 that's the same for many parts in cars these days. Several years ago I was picking up a load of gas tanks for GM and the factory was also making Mercedes Benz tanks. So I asked them what the difference was between the two. Their answer, "The price and the name". Yep so true for so many things.
looks like meguiars headlight coating went up in price now. would be $9 before then they would bump it to like $13 during the week then come down. now its $13 and during they change it to almost $16 but just goes back to $13. I guess this is the new normal price
Yeah I think my channel blew it up like crazy and now the pricing is changing.. I just paid like $14.15 per can on an order hopefully it goes down.. back to normal..
@1991chubbz yeah typically they fluctuate every year up and down... But they are going up I think it's because they realize my channel is driving a lot of business their way I've seen this before...
I guess you weren't wearing your mask if you were getting high, lol😂😂😂 On a different note. I know you get Jonesikw this to where you really have to work more to grind down and get that great finish because of how hard or type of polycarbonate they use on the headlights. Just curious, have you ever used sandpaper made by Eagle Abrasives?
Im the same. I do headlights but people keep wanting me to detail. Which i dont blame them cuz i don't think anybody around me details a car like i do😂 but all I like doing is wetsanding and buffing.lol
I've been asking around, a ton of auto shops in my area are offering headlight restoration now, more and more folks are jumping on the bandwagon, the cat is out of the bag..

Is the keep clear headlight coating discontinued cant even buy it direct?
Headlight pro, great restoration on that lab, lots of good info to boot, thanks truly enjoyed watching, Don.
Awesome brother thank you for your continued support...
Really appreciate it..👍🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽💯
0:20 - "...turfed out...." 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
How do you get the 3m lens and plastic cleaner? It’s discontinued and I’m not able to find it. Will the 3m compound be sufficient?

You could try buffing them first... That doesn't work you have to value it what to do next...

after clear coating with Meguiars Headlight Coating, I am not happy with the final results. What and when is the best way to remove MHC?
What is your opinion of applying a film to the headlight, like the 3m Scotchgard instead of coating them?
What do you think about degreasing after the polish step?
Question: if we have oxidation on just the upper part of a headlight do we still need to sand polish etc the whole light or can we just the oxidation part?
Price of materials is getting nuts. Had the winter off now starting to get calls. Tried getting the headlight coating. It's like $7 more
What are ur thoughts on mosh ceramic coating instead of clear coat
Great channel man your work is amazing. Quick question, what are the pros and cons in your opinion clearcoating headlights vs ceramic coating?

Yo HRP have you ever tried mixing a compound and polish to try and make a “correct and finish” formula for headlights or paint correction ?
Just got the ac Delco polisher any advice ?
More great work 👍
Thank you man I appreciate it...
Sorry it's nerve racking on these super cars even though it's the same thing...👍🏽💯

Nice the cleaning towel over the used sand discs
I came to alot of your vidoes, but what exactly is the step by step?
What’s your google link for your website? We want to see them
Have you ever restored rear / tail lights ?
What your google website though?
I tried 2 clean up a light with 2k clear had a 320 disc wouldn't even touch it would of took 30 of them and all day
Those vehicles are a masterpiece. Did the position of the lights have you seated in an awkward position?
A little bit had to position myself to the side of the vehicle kind of or the corner to get it done...
Yeah i dont like lights with the dark inlay. They don't necessarily look as good as a headlight with a chromr or light color inlay
Yes.. exactly 💯
P500 to start?
Top gun and outstanding job. Should of taken it out for a s spin 🤣. Stay up blessings peace out 🙏🏽...
Awesome man thank you yes I should have maybe in the future I'll be able to roll something like that..💯
I wonder how much you charge and what is the average booking you get in a week. Also the profit margin
I got the light lens looking perfect now. Very easy fix
Where are you located ?
Earth 2

Man I’m trying to get better got to work on them getting clear enough got 3 more cars to practice on
Keep them going the more you do the easier they get.. not only that the better you get..💯
320, damn!
How much did you charge for an exotic like this? What your rates for a regular car?
At $4,500 per headlight, labor around $2,000+/-; totalling $11,000 before tax.
I'd charge 10% of that, $1,100. That breaks down to $550 per.
😁
@@danladimoore9641 nice 😊 cha Ching
I wish...
Not too much....😁
In a mid-engine car, the trunk in the front, we call it the "Frunk".
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I cant believe on a lamborghini its polycarbonate and not a glass headlight. Thats crazy

Your fingernails can cause a scratch that deep, where you need 220, to get the scratch out? Them are some sharp nails!

Paying for the name.
I googled him last year but he’s to far from me. I’m pretty sure it’s Florida. 😂
Nope close.... Only crazy people in Florida.. 😂😂😂😂
