Not just possible, he’s was gonna be the head of the Notos family. Paul is older than Philemon and has better character, but decided to quit his last name.
Eris and Rudeus are VERY distantly related, to the point where it no longer matters. The Greyrats are a gigantic family of nobles which had split into braches a really long time ago, and Rudeus and Eris belong to 2 different branches. Their last common ancestors would go back over a century ago, and with how they had kids at a young age, I assume their last common ancestor would have been more than 10 or 20 generations back or something. That's what Philip meant when he said "Paul and I are cousins, I SUPPOSE". And there's also that marrying to cousins wasn't much of a no-no then.
Charts I have seen say that Sauros is Paul's uncle, so that would make Rudy and Eris 2nd cousins. Even if the branches split over a century ago, that doesn't mean that they haven't intermarried since (which was historically common among noble families, done so that they didn't drift too far apart politically)

I don’t read the light novel and the manga, I just read the wiki fandom of it, and yes this is also the part where Eris’s parents died and as for Paul he died after the teleportation incident.
During the "awkward" part at the beginning I felt like Cleveland from Family Guy in the tub doing the "No No NO!" The visible discomfort on your faces during that scene was funny though.
"I think she likes him." She does. She's been impressed by him since the kidnapping incident and her affection for him has grown over the previous three years. Him getting handsy scared her, as she was put up to it by her mother and she thought he was only doing it because Philip had told him to. Seeing him grovel in apology was the moment Eris fell in love with him.
the issue of ages in ancient times is complex ~ in rudeus world it emulates a middle age or similar and in that adult age you were at 15 at the most ~ if you were lucky you lived to be 30 if you weren't of a class that had power economic ... so it was common for them to get married at an early age ~ and in noble families even more so, for example, Maria Antonieta got married at 13 o 14 ~ and many children were engaged even before they were born ~ ps: sorry for my bad english but i'm not good at writing it
am i the only one that noticed the dragon and that one dude had the same eyes not to mention the scales?? also it was like the dragon showed him respect at the end maybe he’s a dragon king or lord or something?
So the way I understood it is that that they are not related by blood but instead by name. The name greyrat was a title basically bestowed from the real greyrat family. The noble status was then given to those loyal under that name which is why its two last names. Notros is a branch family so this would mean that they could marry another branch family member and merge the branches. (Just my understanding)
It was a bit frustrating to see you guys one episode behind in your reactions in mushoku tensei...... This reaction was truly what I've been waiting for, I'm glad it caught up
they are distant cousins meaning they are not blood related even in are real world we have that concept that's why cousins are numbered like second cousin third cousin the higher the number the less the person is related to you
They said its branch families matters when they split basicly when u have branches of a noble house means at one point was one family then each son of the family had their own family and land so in this case four sons made four houses and then their kids kept passing it in so their distant cousins they know they are because nobles have some smart guy who writes down whos related ro who
Because Rudy was about to use saint class magic he was mistaken for the cause of the incident. Fasten your seat belts. Keep your seat backs and tray tables in their upright position. We are about to take off. Enjoy the adventure
Redus isn't the source of the mana I think... i assume he came there looking for the source but the he found someone with a very huge mana reserve which was Rudy and assume he was the source of the disaster. This my theory
Asian royalty, or nobility in medieval Europe or feudalism in Asia valued pure-blood. Most would marry people of the same family or between nobles to ensure that the power of that lineage would be maintained.
The ring had no effect on Rudy he saw his wand and realized he was in fact her teacher and he didnt want to take advantage of her. Here he thinks Eris wants it but when he realizes she was just concerned about him being lonely he felt bad about trying to seize the moment.
The conversation of Rudeus and Eris' father is a thing of the past. Mushoku Tensei is just not your Isekai tye of world, it also reflects from the past traditions, an example of it is the Greyrat family, which is divided by four. When you think about it, there's such a thing as marrying a distant cousin before as a sign of Alliance and good relationship between the two family
I think that it wasn’t rudeus that activated it the guy said slay anyone who seems suspicious on sight and rudeus was trying to cast magic in the center of it so it might’ve been a misunderstanding
Just saw a PV1 OF Mushoku Tensei which was posted by Muse Asia 3 wks ago... I wonder if they saw it already, i mean its a kind of PV suited for this episode... Hahaha
This episode escalated quickly and yes, things about to get more serious and interesting. Glad they did a call back to Superds here cause it will be important somewhat later in the series and yeah, not spoiling you guys but here we go, the start of the main storyline of the series. Wonder how they'll animate one of the important characters in this series.
Finnish proverb: _Mitä serkumpi, sen herkumpi_ "the more of a cousin, the more of a treat." Often said in jest. Anyway, Eris and Rudeus are 2nd cousins.
These aren't really spoilers. Judging by the architecture of the town of Roa and their level of technology, it looks to 1500s-1600s in our time. During that time the average life expectancy was 45-50 years old. So, being considered an adult by 15 sounds realistic. I'm an archaeologist IRL.
I don't know how family marriage in this anime, but considering the greyrat family is a huge family with 4 family branch, maybe you can count it as a clan marriage like in Naruto.
just gonna tell you guys, rudeus gonna have a big character development but that doesnt mean he stop being a pervert....but atleast in the future he will become more mature and also can control his desire
Really glad you are trying to understand the rules and common sense of that world instead of just losing your minds and flipping the table, take it as your own character development as reactors good job
Rudy has a big mama reserve I assume and Rudy dad is from one of the most powerful family in the grayant history and his dad ran away from responsibility for adventures. So technically Rudy identity is a propaganda to politics and power play. Plus that mana reserve makes it a very big treat.
Assuming that Paul and Philip's fathers are brothers, I think that makes Rudy and Eris 3rd cousins. Paul and Philip are 1st cousins, making Rudy and Philip 2nd and then Rudy and Eris are 3rd. But If the fathers were were also cousins, we're talking Rudy/Eris being 4-5th cousins. Even as 3rd cousins, comparing it to European nobility (up to the 20th century), thats still pretty normal for marriage arrangements. The arrangements of the marriage, even at 10 and 12, would be normal for Medieval/Renaissance European nobility too...though I don't think the bit of tying Eris to Rudy's bed would have been........
In other ages marry with family was to protect the power line ( it was normal), at 2021 we know is not recommended. I know it is dificult to see well this kind of culture but it recreated at other kind of age.

Is this also the part where Philip and Hilda (Eris parents) died? Also Paul?
I don’t read the light novel and the manga, I just read the wiki fandom of it, and yes this is also the part where Eris’s parents died and as for Paul he died after the teleportation incident.
The training wheeeeels have juuuussst come ooooffff!
Thank for your patience !
11:35 I can bet you that after everything that has been going on almost everyone forgot about sylphie even Stephanie forgot😂😂😂
During the "awkward" part at the beginning I felt like Cleveland from Family Guy in the tub doing the "No No NO!" The visible discomfort on your faces during that scene was funny though.
The Important part is this is just a Prologue
fun fact: the clothes Norn is wearing, is the same one that Rudeus wore back in episode 1
11:11 did you see the car at the backgrowns??
the issue of ages in ancient times is complex ~ in rudeus world it emulates a middle age or similar and in that adult age you were at 15 at the most ~ if you were lucky you lived to be 30 if you weren't of a class that had power economic ... so it was common for them to get married at an early age ~ and in noble families even more so, for example, Maria Antonieta got married at 13 o 14 ~ and many children were engaged even before they were born ~ ps: sorry for my bad english but i'm not good at writing it
that 10 sec fight was a masterpiece
They also did not censor that scene on muse asia.
Which is miraculous. I have no idea why they did not.
Turning point guys, congrats Brian and Stephanie, you guys get through it
fear the turning point
am i the only one that noticed the dragon and that one dude had the same eyes not to mention the scales?? also it was like the dragon showed him respect at the end maybe he’s a dragon king or lord or something?
17:09 loved the way he said what the hell
So the way I understood it is that that they are not related by blood but instead by name. The name greyrat was a title basically bestowed from the real greyrat family. The noble status was then given to those loyal under that name which is why its two last names. Notros is a branch family so this would mean that they could marry another branch family member and merge the branches.
(Just my understanding)
The strongest man in the mushoku world makes his debut
It was a bit frustrating to see you guys one episode behind in your reactions in mushoku tensei...... This reaction was truly what I've been waiting for, I'm glad it caught up
Guys if you watch carefully, the anime explained that is not Rudy fault that creating the cataclysm. You need to pay attention more in the dialogue
Literally turning point
It happened at the same time as rudys was going to cast his magic that's why that white hair guy thought he could have done it.
from now on, the adventure begins
19:37 Damn you got it right, nice predict mann
Rudy was 34 years old in his previous life, so he is technically 44 years old, not over 50 years old.
they are distant cousins meaning they are not blood related even in are real world we have that concept that's why cousins are numbered like second cousin third cousin the higher the number the less the person is related to you
They said its branch families matters when they split basicly when u have branches of a noble house means at one point was one family then each son of the family had their own family and land so in this case four sons made four houses and then their kids kept passing it in so their distant cousins they know they are because nobles have some smart guy who writes down whos related ro who
from now on everything going to change, the epic arc cooming
Almanfi was guessing cause he saw him using a big spell around there.
I've learned from spanish culture that Turing 15 is actually a big event as a child goes into adulthood, for girls I think its call quinceanera
@david cruz well in this time line it seems that both are adults at 15
The adventures begin here
Was already enjoying it dearly and waiting for it weekly but NOW omg one of the best current animes !!
Because Rudy was about to use saint class magic he was mistaken for the cause of the incident.
Fasten your seat belts. Keep your seat backs and tray tables in their upright position. We are about to take off.
Enjoy the adventure
Rudeus stay confusing the FBI lmao
The sound effect when the lightning bruh
Redus isn't the source of the mana I think... i assume he came there looking for the source but the he found someone with a very huge mana reserve which was Rudy and assume he was the source of the disaster. This my theory
Asian royalty, or nobility in medieval Europe or feudalism in Asia valued pure-blood.
Most would marry people of the same family or between nobles to ensure that the power of that lineage would be maintained.
now let the show begin
He he boi, adventure started!
Hahaha
Perfect title, "turning point" 💪
Let us rejoice as we come together to praise the Holy Relic
The culture gives me Game of Thrones vibes
Turning point 1....
The adventure begins 👍
Finally. I've been waiting for your reaction in this episode
Well, the prologue is over.
Now we enter the chaos.
The "Twist" will start next episode!
He was gonna say holy relic but didn't continue lol.
The show starts now :)
Ok here's the Climax😍
Finnish proverb: _Mitä serkumpi, sen herkumpi_ "the more of a cousin, the more of a treat."
Often said in jest.
I'm an archaeologist IRL.
the main arc is happening!
I don't know how family marriage in this anime, but considering the greyrat family is a huge family with 4 family branch, maybe you can count it as a clan marriage like in Naruto.
I love this show but there is some moments that i wish i could unsee
This is where the story starts
i guess shits about to go down yall
You are the best I have being waiting for this episode reaction
Does someone know how many Eps this Anime Will have?
just gonna tell you guys, rudeus gonna have a big character development but that doesnt mean he stop being a pervert....but atleast in the future he will become more mature and also can control his desire
This is where the real story begin....🔥
“Things rudy taight her” was not sexual but 8nfact combat she attacked paul using magic when he sent rudy away
Ghislaine is bomb and man id follow her.
Really glad you are trying to understand the rules and common sense of that world instead of just losing your minds and flipping the table, take it as your own character development as reactors good job
He removed his shirt like Superman.
Edit: Plsss watch HunterXHunter
They did react till episode 25 in patreon u can join patreon it has early access
15:56 Its obviously just Fast Animation, not Invisible... Wkwkwk
Im so excited for next epiaode ... Epicnessss intensifies 😆
Rudy has a big mama reserve I assume and Rudy dad is from one of the most powerful family in the grayant history and his dad ran away from responsibility for adventures. So technically Rudy identity is a propaganda to politics and power play. Plus that mana reserve makes it a very big treat.
This is where shit goes down.
I love watching you guys..
I waiting this the whole night & end up sleeping. I woke up already late 30 min.
From what i learned, in that era both royal family can engage their sons/daughters even they are babies correct me if im wrong. Hahaha
No he didn’t mean that Rudy was the cause. He just thought that he was the cause since they looked suspicious due to being right under the orb.
Yeah, They obviously need to Watch again from the Flying Castle thingy... Wkwkwk
This episode is being closely monitored by the FBI gang.
They are not interested in pixels
In other ages marry with family was to protect the power line ( it was normal), at 2021 we know is not recommended.
I know it is dificult to see well this kind of culture but it recreated at other kind of age.
Napakasolid! Natatawa ako kapag natatawa si Kuya Bryan tuwing maganda animation HAHA
