I used this weapon religiously during my first playthrough. I'm shocked not many people used it. It's fantastic.
I did for like the first 70 hours but after I found out about Moonveil I just went with that and use meteor as left armament.
Bruh i found this in my third playthrough
i use it for the effect i hate it when ppl run away
I used it until I found rivers of blood, then kept it in my left hand for a long time because of the damage scaling
Yeah I actually got moon veil before this but I always dual wield this in the left and the moon veil in the right hand that’s been my go-to on-foot

This is the most underrated katana in the set. It's so good tho and the strong attack looks very cool and effective. Awesome video!
Interesting thing about that heavy attack is that it first shows up in Sekiro; it's known as the Ichimonji Chop or Double depending on which skill you're using. Im so glad to see it here in Elden Ring as it was one of my more favorite skills you could using in Sekiro
Call me a hipster, but I chose this katana because everybody went for the Moonveil and Rivers of Blood.
This weapon really grew on me.
Especially since the ai and a lot of players panic role away after I use gravitas, and then get caught in a fully charged heavy. Good times

Honestly, I'm getting to a point where I'm starting to realize any weapon is viable when it's got 287 buffs active. I'm leaning towards weapons that do decent damage with no buffs, or only need golden vow or flame gms. You can't keep using your wondrous physick repeatedly, so that's why I'm not too fond of buffs that require them.
This! fuck buffs,They need to learn how to Beat the game without 5 or 10 buffs!
I'm running a dex arcane build with the occult modifier on 2 curved swords. Scavengers sword in the offhand and bandits curved sword in the main hand. Seppuku ash of war on bandits and everything dies very quickly. Dragon communion seal is still pretty broken in arcane and I've been messing with glintstone breath and its heavy! I don't like using buffs very much as my smooth brain favors simplicity
Yea I'd like for people to show good raw builds that aren't stacked with buffs I can't keep using
@@ballsack8937 check out rages "op bleed build" video I'm basically running that, but using confessor armor (for fashion XD ) No blood lords exultation or white mask- dragon communion seal for incants at 60-70 arcane are really good. Even without the optimization it's a really good raw build. Beyond that running a 60 faith 60 dex build and the blasphemous blade L2 will melt things...including Malenia!
I just drop 45 (50 with Godrick's rune) on str and dex and slash things with my Bloodhound's Fang. Has over 700 pure physical AR with no buffs, very good range and awesome AoW.
I also have a fingerprint shield cause why not.
The heavy is a reference to their previous game sekiro, which has a move called ichimonji and double ichimonji which is a powerful overhead swing
I used that katana from the day I got it, before Radahn, through the Elden Beast (powerstanced with Naga). Criminally underrated.
They should add a follow-up attack to each of the gravitas weapons since there's a weapon from each category that has it if I'm not mistaken. And each category has a different attack based on the type, i.e a slash attack forward for katana, another slam for hammer, etc.
The overhead one-handed attack looks like the one-handed ichimonji attack from the final 2 forms of Sekiro's last bossfight

Yes! Stoked to see this coming back. I’ve been using this as my off hand for a long time. The aow is sick to, it’ll hit on the down strike.
Easily my favourite Katana in the game.
I used it until Leyndell in my first Run, it didn't disappoint me once and I only changed it out for the Starscourge Greatswords.
It's a excellent backup weapon for the Starscourge Greatswords.
*ELDEN RING THEMED INVASION IDEA:*
Each Item you equip, Must be from a different Remembrance Boss, Champion or Important character. As sort of a Theme, Remembering each boss or Combining a piece of the Powers from each boss. To become sort of the *Power Grafting Mega-Lord of Elden Ring.*
For example:
-MALENIA’S KATANA in main hand
-CRUCIBLE HORN SHIELD or A SECOND WEAPON in Off hand.
-VETERANS HELM
-BLAIDD’S CHEST ARMOR
-LORETTA’S GAUNTLETS
-RADAHN’SGREAVES
-AND ONLY USE INCANTATIONS & SPELLS FROM BOSSES/ CHAMPIONS etc.
But, Any mix and match of pieces from those Iconic bosses/ enemies.
Love that you are shining the spotlight on this katana, I'm doing a run with this weapon and the strong attack is so damn good, just two charged attacks and it'll break anything
It's worth noting that the heavy attack often gets head strikes against many enemies in the game.
The move set for power-stancing katanas in this game is so good!!
This is the only katana I use for my Mage-Knight. She's a STR/INT build, which are where it seems to scale best.
You can use the gravity fan too in you want
I played my first playthrough with 2 uchis - one with the iado on keen an and on the offhand uchi i used the gravitas ash of war. The reason for not choosing the metoric blade was symply because i played without any buffs or spells, so all of my points could go into dex, vigor and endurance. I wanted to create a real Samurai character with was no spells or buffs. Gravitas was mostly used for crowd control like birds and bats, which became really easy once they were on the ground and the stagger damage iado has, is insane - paired with how quick you get it off, its one of the most underrated ashes of war in the game imo. With this I beat the game much easier than for example with my mage. Really, gravitas is so useful und with the right scalling quite powerful.
I am happy that more and more people try to get away from those meta picks and i believe your content really helps with that. So keep it up guys!
This was the first weapon I leveled up all the way and still play with it quite a bit. The special ability is perfect for catching the invisible scarabs.

In all of my current playthroughs, I have never been able to get the Magic Scorpion Charm. It's frustratingly easy to overlook or overshoot the quest to get it.

To be honest the combination of Seluvis being a giant dickhead and Ranni being so popular boosts the odds that a lot of people would have missed this by a lot. It kinda makes doing Ranni's quest awkward too in order to get the Scorpion. Especially if you want the Dungeater puppet too since you need to literally go into the capital sewers which is hard enough when you're prepared. Then you top it all off with the fact you have to find his secret basement, and do another errand for him besides the random potion he basically shoved into your hand and this quest is annoying on top of the npc being a jerk.
I will say it was strangely satisfying seeing him get his just desserts in the end of his quest and then going to cleanse myself of the "sin" that I knew held no consequence... for me at least.
You can combo the ash of war with the strong attack too for roll catch which imo makes this easily one of the best katanas in the game
Put a dagger with the golden vow ash of war in the second right hand weapon slot. You'll only need 15 faith that way for Flame Grant Me Strength and can reallocate 10 points to other stats.
The ash of war is worse but if this should be a pvp build i wouldn't even play both of this buffs

One of the first Katanas I used and fully upgraded! Bout time it’s seeing some love, it definitely deserves it lol
From the title, I thought the magic weapon art was going to proc bleed from some off-hand Seppuku shenanigan. In this context, it's more of a utility weapon than a magic one. You can see the same high AR on the Uchi if you go Dex instead of Str. It's just that strong attack that is the real highlight of it all. But since it only gets a C scaling, meaning 50~60 Str max, it does go well to power stance it since you don't really need the 50% Str bonus from 2handing.
Uchi actually gets A scaling in STR, so you only lose 5 AR vs 60 Dex, so what he probably should have done is just make it Heavy and use Sudoku to proc the bonus from mask and talisman and leave bleed as a "nice if it procs, but unneccesary" thing.
the heavy attack is great to stagger everything on a dex/int or some int build, only problem is the reach is super short, if you dont time it well you get punished really hard.
I used this katana solo for most of the game during my first playthrough until I got to the Haligtree. Awesome weapon.
I mainly used it because of its heavy. Reminds me of the Ashina art: Ichimonji in Sekiro
The Meteoric Ore Blade has been a surprise hit for me, right now I'm doing a Strength/Intelligence build (will go to 40/40 Strength/Intelligence). Honestly the unique heavy proved to be way better than I thought it would be since I generally prefer a thrusting heavy attacks.
It's one of my go-to weapons on this build, if I'm not using Dual Greatswords (Claymore and Lordswron's, didn't waste my Runes on the Bastard Sword), Clayman's Harpoon (another somewhat overlooked weapon) or Mace. I intend to get the Wakizashi and give it the Fire Affinity and dual-wield them.
I used this for my first playthrough during release week, zero buffs and no equipment helping it. It wasn't easy by any means but it's a cool sword. That heavy attack is very fun to time with enemy movement.
as a mage i was playing as every mage would very cautios and at range but if i got into close combat i was stuffed but i combined this katana and carian slicer which was super op in pvp

I've been using this as my melee weapon for my Int build, if I run out of fp (or just need to conserve) this is my weapon. Absolutely love it.
I've used both this and moonveil as weapons for when I didn't want to cast my spells. I've even had them as a dual wield swapping to my staff when I want to use it.
This is the kind of content I want to see, a mix of powerful weapons, keep it up.
This weapon alone justifies moonveil nerfing, ore blade overshadowed by a jack of all trades ash of war.
if you havent yet you should check out the serpent bone blade as it also has a interesting heavy attack

I originally loved dual wielding this with MoonVeil it’s just unfortunate that moonveil usually outshines it
Moonveil is a great katana for PvE, but I found myself going back to the Meteor Katana for dual wielding with others purely because its the highest base dmg katana
The unique heavy attack comes from the ash of war in sekiro, which deals a lot of posture damage in both sekiro and in Elden Ring.
It's in the previous darksouls games.
This weapon is VERY slept on. It’s just strong all around🤙
That heavy attack makes me think of Kenpachi Zaraki
my first full playthrough I had rh meteoric oreblade and lh the meteoric staff for spamming rocksling. Honestly took me through the whole game no problems, and it was cool from a roleplay perspective to use gravitational magic weapons in both hands. NG+ I upgraded to the fallingstar beast jaw which also scales with strength, dex, and intelligence, and it actually feels TOO overpowered against bosses. The poise break/stagger potential alone of gravitational magic/weapons makes it hands down one of the strongest builds available for PVE (it can be a little slow for PVP, but still formidable).
I found this and moonveil at the start of the game. You can get both in calid. It carried me though the whole game

this was a lot of people's first katana in the game. What a lot of people don't know is that gravitas (and most gravity techniques) is a great anti-air, you see people trying to jump-dodge getting wrekt
There are so many Sekiro references in Elden Ring I love it! I had no idea the heavy attack for that weapon was the ichimonji from Sekiro, makes me wanna use now lol.
This is my first time playing this game and this thing is a lifesaver. You can just power bash the ground with enemies around the corner and it sucks them all in and kills them.
The heavy attack on it is one of the highest stance damage heavies in the game
Could you please make a build based off passive healing? Combining items like the regen tear, blessed dew talisman and icon shield?
All 4 pieces of the Royal Remains set have passive healing also (once health drops below a certain %)

Plus there is a physick tear that also gives u health regen. Then just add in health on kills rune and talisman plus health on crits and u never run out of health

Man I LUV that Katana, it's scales WAY better then my Uchikatana which is at least 3 or so lvls above it.
dont forget its specific purpose of killing fallen star beasts.. used this to make life easier against the mature in the mountains area (volcano?)
You can off hand dragon Communion Seal, for rejection, run the crit daggers for silly regen drop the axe talisman
You have a similar heavy attack on the normal uchigatana, if you hold it two-handed, but the following attack is finally better, because it's flowing! But the meteoric ore blade is a somber weapon so it has of course stronger attacks...
Meteor blade was my main till I beat radahn loved it
I loved using this in my playthrough, it's so good, plus the r2 is really good at stun locking enemies

Meteoric blade is OP dualed with Rivers of Blood, and throwing Bloodhound step on a third weapon to switch in/out of in PvP

During my first play through I used the ore blade and the moonveil with the ore blade in my main hand. I’d shoot out a moonveil and slash and if they dodged and came into punish I’d slap them with gravitas. I’m not proud of it but it was effective

Uchigatana gets A STR scaling, and if you're basically just using sudoku to proc the white mask/exaltation talisman, you'd probably get more damage out of that? If you're not prioritizing making your opponents bleed then there's no reason to use the terrible Blood scaling, right?
I absolutely love this weapon as at plus 6 or 7 and and bleed damage built and magic as well it's great so many high speed jump all over the place bs enemies well it makes quick work of them and the ichimanji attack like eh hem sekiro yeah I need not say more it's so damn good
Hollow you would make my day if you do this. How about a build that only uses talismans and no incantation buffs or wondrous physic, for just moving through dungeons and the world that can handle the harder areas of the gam, like Haligtree and Mountain Tops of the Giants. I think it would be interesting.

Here’s a challenge: load up all their videos from the beginning. Take a drink every time they talk about someone being caught out. When you get discharged from the hospital, reply with how far you made it before blacking out.

its range is the purple circle when it slams down. the thrid weapon i acquired, and have kept using, Bleed is the shit. Oh, and the farther out your target, the less damage the pull inficts

I’m making a build with this and offhand moonveil with a staff, avoiding PvP because I don’t wanna be a dick but I think it sounds like a cool build. Gotta make sure to mix in some rock sorceries for aesthetic purposes though.
