As xmax and ymax will yield maximum possible numerical value and multiplying it by negative -1 will give minimum value of t
As negative me numerical jitna bada hota hai uska value utna hi chhota hota hai..
Haan second example me where u took P = xycos theta
Aapne wahan par x and y fix kar diya hai jisse maximum value aayegi when you put cos0 which is 1 and minimum value aayegi at cos180 which is -1
